I've been married almost 13 years. We've slept in separate rooms for almost that entire time. He snores and has to get up super early for work. I'm a chronic insomniac. So it's what works best for us.
We sleep in separate rooms - I snore like a freight train (possible sleep apnea I'll get tested for) and he fidgets horribly in his sleep. Apparently he wasn't sleeping very well because of my snoring and I had no idea. I wasn't sleeping well because he is a tall solidly built (super fit) guy that hogs my space and is fidgety. We are both sleeping tremendously better in separate rooms and are much more pleasant to each other during the awake hours lol. Gotta do what works for you!
It's called HYPNAGOGIA. I am 64 and have dealt with it since I was a child. I used to fear it was demon's until I understood it was a sleep disorder. I also experience tactile & audible hypnogogic hallucinations. Terrifying but I've learned to deal with it. Bless you ❤ I understand.
Jonnie ... I started taking relaxium and 5mg of melatonin every night to help deal with my nighttime anxiety... works amazing. No I don't work for them and am not sponsored... just heard your night terrors comment and thought it would help. Best wishes and thanks for the laughs!!
I have had chronic pain for over 25 years of our 32 years. I toss and turn, get up a lot, walk around, take pain meds, and yes, snore. He just twitches all night and snores a bit. I moved into my chick cave and he sleeps much better. Me? Still horrible but at least one of us gets some sleep.
My husband now sleeps in another room. He snores, he yells , he twitches, he punches air and does acrobatics (which he could never be that agile whike awake) in his sleep. Al

I think you sleep a lot better alone you don't have to deal with snoring, stealing the blankets
Your wife misses the quiet of her days. My spouse is retired, he is home-watching tv, every day!!!
I know someone who stopped snoring after about 2 weeks of going vegan...she was a frieght train!
