Fellow American here! I've been backpacking around Europe for a few months and am currently in Split. I got to meet some of our sailors in town today. Such friendly, stand-up men who immediately stood out to me as Americans with their poise and charisma. Just seeing the Harry S Truman out there on the water made me feel especially safe and proud. did you guys lose an F-35? or was it a different carrier? anyways: F-35 on final approach to carrier fekking crashed and burned. might not have been to the Truman. but it crashed somewhere, that is for sure (happy the pilot came out alive lets be clear)

That would be the CVN70 USS Carl Vinson. Hit the round down during a landing and went off the deck into the drink.
