Never heard UtA till this video, was impressed but saw lots of comments praising their latest album Apex, listened through it 2 days ago and now just can't stop putting it on repeat, soooo good! It's on another level, you NEED to do an album reaction to it along with the lyrics/story!
This album would be great for a full album reaction since it's a concept album with a continuous story. Brittney even uploaded a song-by-song explanation video series where she explains each songs meaning and how they fit into the story. If you haven't done it I highly recommend you go listen to the album from the beginning to end with the lyrics pulled up. Afterwards watch brittneys video series and then listen to it again! It made me enjoy the album even more
i LOVE this band, and listening to their old music makes it really apparent how far their songwriting has come because they were always great but their newest album is just...perfection. i hope you react to "cleanse the bloodlines" at some point because that song is EPIC.
If you decide to revisit Unleashed the Archers again, I highly recommend their video for Cleanse the Bloodlines or Tonight We Ride. Both amazing songs, and Cleanse the Bloodlines is from their most recent album, which is also what Awakening is from. Tonight We Ride has a cool Mad Max visual asthetic in the video and some high energy
I just got back from the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise and saw UtA twice! Alex, if you've never heard of it, the 70k cruise is a metal festival on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. 4 nights, 60 metal bands, 4 stages. On a BOAT. Check it out, next year will be the 10th year anniversary.
Been struggling alot with depression and life issues lately, especially today, but the sweet message/reminder and awesome video from one of my favorite bands really helped make my night a little bit better :)
See, this is why I'm loving Unleash the Archers. They have not 1 but 2 death metal growlers (I guess just having one wasn't enough?) but then they have the always amazing Brittany Slayes and her voice just completely outbadasses the growls and they just fade into the background because I tune them out to focus on just hearing Brittany and the band. I agree with your assessment Alex. Based on the video, and what I could get from the lyrics, The Dark General would indeed seem to be Death. You try to get away from Death, it finds you. Sometimes it looks like it's giving you a reprieve or showing mercy. But in the end, you will die. And even if you're brave enough to fight it? Eventually... Death always wins. Oh. And that mercy he briefly demonstrated before? Gone. And just to show you how gone, one more little twist of the knife (or sword in this case) right at the end. Twist...you're done. Great review, bruh. Have yourself a dope ass day. Don't let anyone throw shade at YOU.☺
Maybe you know this now because your comment is pretty old but I'm gonna answer it anyway: Whole ,,Demons of AstroWaste" is an concept album and tells story and that's why this song don't have hidden meaning to it. It tells part of the story from the album

Please do "Black Metal" by Venom for the letter "V". Venom is an extremely influential group for the foundation of modern metal, with still a somewhat accessible vibe to it.
I was a huge Venom fan growing up in the 80s but they are really horrible musicians. They have their place in metal history for sure but I think you "had to be there", ya know?

Dude! Please! We need your reaction to The Wind That Shapes The Land in our lives! On one hand it's a shame that there isn't a video for it, but on the other hand the lack of visual input makes you focus more on the music and the lyrics. It's a musical journey like 3 or 4 amazing songs got mashed together beautifully, truly a testament to UtA's skills in musicianship and composition. the thing that gets me the most is how polished this song and video is, and it was all done when they were still an unsigned indie band... I loved this album in particular for years and when I saw the news that they were signed to Napalm it was such an awesome feeling, they totally deserved it

For V, you should give Valhalore (Song: Across the Frozen Ocean) from Australia a go. They are Viking Folk metal with a mix of growls and clean vocals. I think you'd really like the combo.
Definitely Volbeat but I think Seal the Deal or the Devils Bleeding Crown would be a much better choice. Heaven nor Hell is great but I dont think it shows their sound off as well
Volbeat is a fringe band, some of their stuff is metal, some of it isn't. Can we please stay away from these fringe bands for a metal list. There are for more significant bands to metal that are in many ways musically better.
Derp Herpula Veil of Maya isn’t a metal core band. They are djent/deathcore. They have absolutely no punk influence. In fact, they are more on the lines of prog metal. Metalcore doesn’t either. You are thinking post hardcore. Ala A Day to Remember. Metalcore is Unearth, As I Lay Dying, and August Burns Red. You need to learn your sub genres.

V - Van Canto - Battery, it´s Metal but it´s without instruments (Except Drums). The Singers actually "sing" Guitar and Bass. Great listen, because it´s different!
V is for Vintersorg - A Metaphysical Drama or A Dialogue with the Stars. I'm sure I'm the only person that will mention Vintersorg and that's such a shame. He's a genius and his work with Borknagar is also amazing, plus everything else he's done. Second choice would be Vanden Plas - Into the Sun. Extremely underrated progressive metal band that is amazing live and a total class act.

V = Volbeat, not a typical metal band, lots of different genres combined. they have a very unique sound. i would describe them as "elvis metal". punk, rockabilly, with a touch of metallica...don't know if that makes sense...but i really think that you should take a listen. of course, there are many other great bands starting with V, but i've always had a soft spot for Volbeat, maybe it's because i'm from Denmark ;) i have watched nearly every reaction video you have made, and i'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed, even though Volbeat isn't as "metal" as many other bands...a few song suggestions...The devil's bleeding crown, Doc Holliday, For Evigt/ The Bliss, Evelyn, I only wanna be with you (Dusty Springfield cover), Sad mans tongue, Lola Montez, Mary Jane Kelly...those are some of my favorites.

Definitely Volbeat but I think Seal the Deal or the Devils Bleeding Crown would be a much better choice. Heaven nor Hell is great but I dont think it shows their sound off as well

Volbeat is a fringe band, some of their stuff is metal, some of it isn't. Can we please stay away from these fringe bands for a metal list. There are for more significant bands to metal that are in many ways musically better.

Derp Herpula Veil of Maya isn’t a metal core band. They are djent/deathcore. They have absolutely no punk influence. In fact, they are more on the lines of prog metal. Metalcore doesn’t either. You are thinking post hardcore. Ala A Day to Remember. Metalcore is Unearth, As I Lay Dying, and August Burns Red. You need to learn your sub genres.

V - Van Canto - Battery, it´s Metal but it´s without instruments (Except Drums). The Singers actually "sing" Guitar and Bass. Great listen, because it´s different!

I'm sure I'm the only person that will mention Vintersorg and that's such a shame. He's a genius and his work with Borknagar is also amazing, plus everything else he's done.
Second choice would be Vanden Plas - Into the Sun. Extremely underrated progressive metal band that is amazing live and a total class act.

I've seen both as well, multiple times each, VoM is better in every single way. Volbeat is good, VoM is just superior

V = Volbeat, not a typical metal band, lots of different genres combined. they have a very unique sound. i would describe them as "elvis metal". punk, rockabilly, with a touch of metallica...don't know if that makes sense...but i really think that you should take a listen. of course, there are many other great bands starting with V, but i've always had a soft spot for Volbeat, maybe it's because i'm from Denmark ;)
i have watched nearly every reaction video you have made, and i'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed, even though Volbeat isn't as "metal" as many other bands...a few song suggestions...The devil's bleeding crown, Doc Holliday, For Evigt/ The Bliss, Evelyn, I only wanna be with you (Dusty Springfield cover), Sad mans tongue, Lola Montez, Mary Jane Kelly...those are some of my favorites.
Van Canto - Battery or Badaboom, please!!, they are a very unique band, if or when you choose to do a reaction go in blind don't do research on them, just know that the song is a cover of Battery by Metallica and that they are very unique.

hello and yes the journey start about 6 years ago when start listen archers from this song , and yes i was sure this band is going up level ... 6 years after is amazing and the last lp apex and the song awaking is soo bas ass metal ... is the last scene i wonder 6 years now if trully killed her !! britney slayes is a goddess of metal and hes voice is exploding your mind ... anyway amazing reaction alex .....
the guitars are incredible, the drumming is insane and Brittney is a vocal goddess...she just blows the doors off the is song. The note Brittney hits at the end is incredible....
