  • This is my 3rd kit. The video is short, I was not making build footage that time.

The MiG-21 is my favorite aircraft. Maybe not as fast as the Eagle but it's gonna sneak up on them enemy jets real quiet-like and put a heat seeker in their tail pipes. My neighbor is an old F-4 Phantom pilot and he said he fought one in Vietnam but it got away. He had his share of close calls and narrow escapes from MiGs. He even test flew the then-new F-4 Phantom supersonic at just 10 feet above the ocean, as per orders. I keep telling him to write a book. He even strafed an enemy runway in 1968.
These are my 3 favorite aviation books:
    - Tomcat Fury by Mike Guardia
    - In the Claws of the Tomcat by Tom Cooper
    - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson

Thanks! Mig-21 is a very nice jet, an iconic plane. Have a 1/48 scale unassembled waiting on my shelf.

Hi man, well done!!! Which color you use and which ratio with thinner?

Hi! Thanks! For this one I used Vallejo Model Color 70.907 Pale Grey Blue. For painting large areas I add their thinner medium 70.524 for better flow. ca 1:1 And I apply usually 2 coats for good coverage.

What are your techniques for getting that extremely good looking engine painted? Like all I’m using right now is gun metal + a light metal color mixed and painting the engines that, and then taking some soot and streaking it a bit, but that doesn’t look nearly as good as yours

Which paint did you use for the main part of the exterior (the greyish bit)? And what would the Revell equivalent be?

    • @brushpaintedmodels7086

Vallejo Model Color 70.907 Pale Grey Blue. For Revell equivalent try to google out some paint conversion charts. But there is not always an equivalent color by other manufacturers.

It probably need some modulation ?

Dot filtering. I mean dot filtering not modulation
