Thanks a lot for the good quality video of the match played 43 plus years ago. This is the first time I see the elder Karakasevic play. He is one of the few European players with pen-hold grip who played at world class level in the history of table tennis. Pretty powerful FH attacks and decent BH blocks. Good footwork too. Really appreciate vids of this good quality of great players playing 4 decades ago. This is indeed a treat.
When I started (mid 70s in France), the first year at the tennis table school, we learnt both grips. And a lot of young players used the penhold grip for serving and then switched to the shakehand grip for playing.
Interesting to see that Karakasevic father and son both came along as top-level players but each of them with their own style. Karakasevic father could have had use for that backhand of Karakasevic son but then again who wouldn't?
Great video quality ! I'm guessing the difference in ball spin before and after speed glue era is very big. These players dont bother to hide their serves at all.
You know that something is wrong when 1970s vídeos hace better resolution than nowadays un ittf channel. again thanks Janus .

THANKS for the beautifull upload !
Amazing quality!
Thank you for that high quality video!
RIP Milivoe Karakašević
Wow, I thought only Asian players use penhold grip!
Thanks for uploading the ridiculously clear HD video!
Judit Magos of Hungary was another. There is Jesus Cantero, but he's rpg.
Zoran Kalinic from Yugoslavia too was pen holder..

All this needs now is to be colorized! Beautiful!

that's aleksandar karakasevic's father milivoe karakasevic
There is Waldner in the crowd
4 year old Waldner? 🤔
A western penholder player. Interesting.
Very much like Zoran Kalinic
Smash attacker vs blocker / spin meister. I don't see that they have very much in common beyond being penholders from Serbia. 🤔
