Watching Rabbi Friedman and similar rabbis helped me come to the seven laws of Noah after a long time as essentially Nimrod, thinking we could one day control and replace Hashem. Now I serve Hashem, and not for worldly blessings, although I would be lying if I said they didn't happen, I serve Him because He deserves it, he is genuinely good.
Often what Rabbi has to say is explaining to us how Kind and loving God is and how God loves us even when we fall short of our own expectations. That is easy to hear but not often said.
Agreed. Islam is about Justice only and Christianity about Mercy. Judaism is the balance of Justice and Mercy. That's how I read the Tanach and long to hear that in Rabbinic teachings.
It would be so helpful if the Rabbis at my Shul would talk about about our beautiful relationship with HaShem. Too much religiosity is driving Jews away from that relationship.
what is too much relgiosity exactly? We have a Torah, comes from the Hebrew word Hora"ah which means instructions....so the Torah serves as our instruction manual...and we should live our lives accordingly and do all we can to fullfill the mitzvoth that were given us with the intent of making them as complete as possible, not be complacent and pick and chose ...what is too much religiosity exactly? Care to elaborate ?
Rabbi brings this verse to mind, "Do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with God." Micah 6:8. This is the missing key to the coming of Mashiach: "The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my Yeshua." Psalms 118:14 God bless🙏
What a very enjoyable conversation, but about that shadowy figure back behind Manis: I'm just glad they blacked out his face. I happen to know him and believe me, his face is _not_ a pretty sight. You'd think he got in a car accident or something, but he actually just looks like that. Yikes.
