Definitely one of the top songs in HoD. Sense of anxiety combined with urgency. The progression at 0:24-0:55 is pure gold, the way it switches from melancholic to motivating and back is just perfect.
Why do so many seem to have issues with the soundtrack for this game? Just downloaded it the other day and I've been so incredibly impressed by it as a top-notch retro-quality OST. I hopped onto TH-cam and immediately saw so much "meh" for it, and I was totally surprised! The fact that each track has actual dissonance baked into it in such an interesting way is so wonderfully deliberate, given the title. I'm in love with this soundtrack. :)
Huh, this sounds kind of something from MMBN actually, especially when the square wave lead kicks in; I can't quite pinpoint what it reminds me of specifically, but it definitely feels like a boss stage from those games, or heck, even a incident theme too, but not as frantic
Yeah, I think Doubt from MMBN6 was the song I was thinking of actually, but I still think it sounds MMBN-ish in general, I dunno why; both OSTs really like to use the Game Boy PSG tho, so I can't say I'm surprised, but yeah

Hmm. Haven't played it but have heard about the reallocation of this game's storage from audio to visuals. I would say, yes, that is evident. However, this music, despite the lessened sound sample quality, still succeeds in creating effective atmosphere.
does anyone know on what game does this track reappear again? I swear i heard this from the ds games already. I was in awe when i heard this while playing the collection O.O
@@ThirdStrikeParty i used to listen to jorge fuentes's castlevania remasters years ago and i listened to this song so much along with the others from the ds titles. is prolly why i thought it appeared in a ds game. i recommended giving them a go. oh, and thanks for clarifying!

This game has probably my least favorite soundtrack out of all the Castlevanias but this one is my favorite in this game by far.

it's purely because the 8-bit soundchip used doesnt especially match the visuals. the compositions are fine, but it doesnt sound quite right.

On of these is not like the other... namely that flute-like instrument at 00:41, it's a much higher quality sample than the other instruments.

As far as I know this song does not appear in another Castlevania game, but it is used near the end of I Wanna Be The Guy
