Blasphemous II has an incredible combat sistem. It's really deep with a lot of options, but you can do a lot with just your basic attacks. It's easier to beat that blasphemous I, but a lot more satisfying to play.
Only problem with the combat system is you lose all of your buffs if you switch weapons. It makes stacking the lightning marks or charging blood mode feel useless. Hope they make those carry over between swaps.
tbh i prefer the combat from the first game more, but in terms of metroidvanias, nine sols is also fantastic as it focuses a lot more around parrying attacks
TLF needs a patch, the game lacks some important things, it is still fun but it is lacking which it shouldn't' have having so many quality games behind it and given its year of release. It disappoints more often.
yea last faith looked way too easy. thats why people compare it to bloodborne. cause bloodborne is training wheels for dark souls. bloodborne is baby compared to dark souls. which is why they compare blasphemous to dark souls and last faith to bloodborne.
You can actually turn it off in the game settings, if you didn't know. I, personally, didn't even bother and got used to it... But in case you hate it, the option is there.
Good for you! Honestly, I don't think that my play style is the "definitive" one, or "intended by devs". It's also very demanding. I just wanted to bring attention to this aspect of the game with my videos, that's all.
The only thing that does not please is that I have not found a single figure that would give bonuses when switching weapons, that is, there is no point in juggling weapons here, firstly, because the enemies do not have any obvious vulnerabilities, and secondly, it is also not profitable, because it is more effective to pour everything into one thing and play with it. And zeroing the scale of the blade and rapiers when switching or resting at the luminary, even more kills the desire to switch between weapons, although in the second case it would be nice, on the contrary, to fill in these bonuses when resting.
Yeah, that's quite an oversight. Though switching weapons is still kind of beneficial to a certain degree, it's still a problem that I hope will somehow get adressed with DLC's and patches. Enemy resistances are there, but I think it needs a bit of balancing.
@@MrDel-dj1ye The problems concern not only weapons. Most of the time (actually, all the time), I switch between weapons by using "change to weapon slot" buttons, which are 1, 2, 3 on the keyboard, instead of using the usual "change weapon" button which just switches weapon from one slot to the next. You can also change what weapon you have on each slot in "The Penitent One" menu.

They can't be launched, but after a certain amount of hits (or even one actually) they can get staggered and they also can be stunned which results in execution. Orospina can also get staggered, though it's kinda unfortunate that she is the only boss with this property. Staggers can be very consistent, but stunning is, honestly, weird... Sometimes it feels like there's a hidden stun bar like in Dark Souls 3 for example (in DS3 if you are super agressive with bosses there's a chance that you can stun them and then perform a critical attack) and with some enemies it feels very random, it also depends on what weapon you use and their moves that have different stun potential from what I observed... Anyways, there is interactivity and a certain feedback from hitting enemies, maybe it's not as rich as any fighting game or character-action, but I think this game might not need much in that regard. It doesn't mean that adding more ways to interact with enemies other than staggering and stunning them will ruin something, but I don't think it's unnecessary to add them.
This maybe a stupid question but I unlocked the up + x attack and down + x attack for the main OG blade but can never get it to work. What am I doing wrong.
Ok. Deleted my previous answer. It was bloated with unnecessary stuff and just long to read overall. Plus, I jumped in blindly, without any clarification. Which wasn't smart tbh. If you are talking about Blasphemous 2 and Ruego al Alba (the only weapon resembling the one from the first game - Mea Culpa), then you need to input up + x or down + x exactly during the animation of the second combo hit.
