idk, just another youtube user, though I do have knack for some pretty hardcore gaming experiences with entertaining combat systems and I love sharing that entertainment with other people and also love challenging myself with them.
BLASPHEMOUS 2: Stylish Combat with Lesmes and Infanta NG+ Redux
Duo bossfights can be pretty hit or miss. Luckily, this one is not missing anything. Me encluded... The BALL spin is pretty tricky to avoid and being agressive around feels very claustrophobic, which is why you won't see me go all out in the final phase during the end of their attack series. Speaking of, the final phase is completely memorization based, which means that they always follow one exact pattern. When you get rid of one of them, their combat ai gets back to their senses and then you won't be able to predict them as easy as before, but again... This boss have a lot of solid tells to his attacks and you can easily react to them.
Always a bit annoying to "no-damage" this boss, because it requires some tight movement with your limited mobility kit (at this point in the game). Though there will be a boss that requires an almost precise movement later down the line, even with more mobility tools.

I noticed a lot of people love this boss, though he's not my favourite (doesn't mean I dislike him though), I get where they are coming from. He looks cool and overall a solid boss with pretty fair moveset. I also discovered probably the most gamechanging spell that you might see more of in the future fights I'll upload... Literally the most amazing thing. Music: Set me free by Lorn

Thank you for 125 subscribers! Currently, I'm planning on re-doing the bossfights with an NG mode and afterwards I plan on actually covering the combat system of Blasphemous II in a sort of analysis video. Nothing much to say here, despite this boss being relatively easy, I still think it's one of the most elegant and masterfully done bosses by "The Game Kitchen". Also, yes, in case you did not...

Yeah, this time I decided to show you how you can literally destroy this guy with just Mea Culpa. Yes, video is actually longer, but the fight itself was around 50 seconds (if we countdown from the moment the boss's health bar appeared and end it at the the kill-flash). This mighty CHAD is in my top 3 after the patch. I love the changes they made to his AI in 1.1.0 version. Really made him feel more like a threat. And who could've thought that this visually unnoticable change will change the flow of this fight so drastically... When I fought him for the first time, post-patch, he really made me think about how to avoid his waves, how to apply proper crowd-cont...

Well... The one who made projectiles have hitboxes at their START-UP animation can burn in absolute hell! Nah, I'm not serious about the hell part, I was just letting out my frustration, but I am definitely serious about the overall issue. This doesn't feel right at all. No matter how much time I re-fight this guy, it's never not fun. Though his corpse mace side-swing is pretty tricky to parry. I dunno, it just doesn't click with me... It's not impossible to parry consistently at all, but it would take me too long to get ALL the parries. So yeah, room for improvement I guess... Someday... Next up is Odon and Benedikta. How do you hit after the block? Is it perfect timing?
Yes, you need to perfectly time it and generally this game does have "perfect parry" mechanic. Though the attack you see here in the video cannot be parried anymore, since the last patch that was released this december.
Wait, did they fix new game plus so that you could start with all weapons? Because I tested it out before when true torment came out, the earliest you could get mea culpa is after Odón, because the clay lady has a stop in the labyrinth of tides, which is only accessible after Odón.
Yes, they did. Since december 3-rd
that was amazing fight , love the fact that they added mea culpa too
What are your jades?
I've written them down in the description. You can check there )
Holy fuck
Awesome fight, probably my favorite duo fight in any game, its just so balanced even if the arena is tight. Btw, i missed the fact that "Empty Ignition" can also be done with the "same weapon slot cancel" tech, so you don't actually need to switch out of veridicto, it looks a bit jank, but damn if it doesn't accelerate veridicto's combat flow without the switching weapons (still prefer weapon switching to access empty ignition though, i got more options out of it, plus it looks cooler)
@@varia011 makes sense that it works with... Let's call it "neutral swap cancel". Nice observation! I didn't notice that, even though I did saw that sometimes "empty ignition" would come out without me normally swapping weapons, probably because I was doing neutral swap cancel accidentally ) PS: The arena is not exactly an issue for me, it's just that fireball wheel attack, that I mentioned in the description, really limits your mobility if you're going for a "no damage".
@@MrDel-dj1ye True, i haven't actually tried to no dmg this fight yet, but i can imagine having to avoid the flame wheel atk can be a pain, especially if you trying to style on them while taking no hit.
im watching this like an ipad kid watches skibidi toilet. absolutely mesmerising gameplay, perfectly executed and planned. legit inspiring and brings out the true potential of blasphemous 2's fantastic combat system. 5 stars just goddamn.
How do yoy double parry???
It's convoluted no matter how I put it, but I'll try to, at least, make it coherent. When you get ONLY THE FIRST *LEVEL* of Verdadera Destreza (will be VD from now on) charge you will be able to cancel certain moves. Perfect Parry automatically gives you one charge point, so if you have a completely empty VD bar, you'll be able to cancel this parry into practically anything, because of the aforementioned trait. In this video I chose to cancel this parry into a dash attack, which might look like I just parried twice, but the second hit is just a dash attack, not a parry.
Wtf
i didnt know veredicto could do instant ignition, i should start practicing it
Might just be me but is the font for the bosses name different?
Baxayaun, official level designer of both Blasphemous and Blasphemous 2, has seen your video and even used it some seconds in a video he recently published about Blasphemous 2! here th-cam.com/video/sEgIlSTk1Zg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hMSR18sFiCLN6xFg minute 46 or something i believe
Damn that finisher attack is stylish af🎉🎉🎉🥹🥹
Woah, at 0:14 and 0:20, i was only able to do this instant ignition strike tech once by accident, how are you able to consitently do it?
Basically, you can perform this, as I personally call it - "Empty Ignition", by doing an aerial attack first, then swap to a different weapon and back to Veredicto. Then you can perform this tech. As you have noticed (or didn't) this particular Ignition Strike can be cancelled into ANYTHING, aside from basic movement. Sidenote: Honestly, it's one of the only things that weirdly makes swapping between weapons more meaningful, would be a shame if devs removed it without giving us something in return... Though I fear this will be removed eventually in the next DLC or patch, since this goes kinda against the idea of Veredicto as a "slow" weapon. So... I enjoy it while I can xd
@MrDel-dj1ye Tested it for a bit, and yeah this tech is so damn cool and strong, this "ignition strike" being able to cancel into basically anything opens a lot of combo possibilities, it be a shame to lose it, though it most likely will😅, btw was this tech available pre-dlc? Also side note: You may already know this, but during my testing i have notice that if you press the same weapon switch button as the already equipped weapon it makes a "dud" noise and the ui animates to indicate that you have the weapon already equipped, cool detail but here's the thing, it can cancel certain atks like weapon switching without actually switching weapons. I have yet to find cool use out of it, other than making sarmiento and centella atk slightly faster(lol), but currently i just think of it as the atk cancelling expliot in blasphemous 1😆.
@@varia011 I think it was, at least I think it existed even before, but I've learned this tech when I played the DLC. As for the swap cancel, then yes, I knew about it for a long time actually, speedrunners also use it with Sarmiento and Centella, because it's the best weapon for it. I personally don't use it since I think it's a tiny bit... Broken. Just like upward-attack cancel from Blasphemous I.
@@MrDel-dj1ye yeah i can see that, haven't watched blasphmemous 2 speedruns since launch but i low key thought S&C in buffed mode can out dps all the other weapons (this may or may not be true now, i'm not sure), its neat but i have little interest using it like the atk cancels in b1, its a bit cheap to me. And here is hoping the "Empty Ignition" stays till the games final dlc's or update🍻
The finisher was pretty cool, combo game would be a lot faster if the charges carried over weapon swaps
An updated NG+ fight with Afilaor in case anyone is interested is here: th-cam.com/video/GxCrjni9RnU/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Cool
Here you can check how this fight goes on NG+: th-cam.com/video/B_Xzvv3G8qg/w-d-xo.html
How'ed you feel about the balancing of the game numbers in ng+ currently with or without penance? Personally i feel its pretty balanced (although i feel maxxed out mea culpa still hits way too hard), currently testing on ng+ with minimal weapon atk dmg upgrades and i like how beefier every enemy and bosses gets, also idk if its a bug or intentional, but you cannot block with mea culpa during incarnate remorse anymore.
I think that generally Mea Culpa's projectile slash should be slightly nerfed, other than that I think the weapon is fine. Currently have 2 files of NG+, with enemy buff penance and without it and so far I think everything is pretty neat in that regard. Yes, you do get nearly one-shotted, but only by certain enemies and moves (if that's a boss) which I think is fair, since most of these come from pretty well telegraphed and pronounced attacks. As for blocking in IR state, it's probably a bug, I think there's absolutely no reason to remove this ability intentionally. Seems like they used the code for Ruego Al Alba's "Blood Pact" as a template for IR and a part of it that is responsible for allowance of parries was somehow reverted back to default, but since Mea Culpa does not have any special ability on Block input, we get nothing. If that is even the case, I have no idea how that happened, since I'm not a developer and this is just my guess.
@@MrDel-dj1ye thanks for the reply, and i agree, this is probably the most balanced mv i've played, for that reason i got no problem getting 1 or 2 shotted in ng+ (maybe cause i did a no health upgrade run already or the fact that i can almost no hit some areas and and no dmg some bosses), as you said its a fair trade off for having almost everything carried over. I am also no dev, but i would like to think that no blocking in IR is either a bug or they have plans to give it an extra abilities (i can dream at least). Also nice gameplay as always, been watching your channel for awhile now and you really changed how i play this game, i now constantly spam verses and switch weapons mid combat and its my favorite way to play.
Yes, that should work.
I hate the weaponswitching mechanics tbh. I don't like micromanaging everything.
Sure, I'm not here to force this playstyle on anyone. If someone gets encouraged to play differently by this - that's great, if not - that's also fine, since it is very demanding. My playstyle is not definitive, though some people think it is, judging by how flashy it looks (though it might be too flashy for others).
Wow ! Impressive fight ! Well done !
impressive fight ! good job .
After four playthroughs I thought my skill in this game is good, It appears that I need to play it for a fifth time. Nice trick with that dash after counter
I didn't know you can dash right after the counter with the Sarmiento & Centella.
Best in Nine Sols.
When I first had to fight this guy he was hell then when I had to fight him the second time I first tried him 💀
how do you do a charge without doing an attack first, I resorted to slide attacks to punish the moves where the golden ladies stop after
That's the neat thing! You can't. But you can do a charge attack by performing one attack in the air that will definitely miss, and by holding the button you will be able to perform it on the ground right when you land.
At least for me i havent liked blasph2. Got to the city in the sky after the 3/4 boss fights and felt unfair to fight the enemies. Blasph1 i was just fine, yeah i was kinda sucky but i felt like i had answers. But this game im not good enough to switch weapons mid fight and i know vendicto is powerful but i hate it. Wish i wouldve got far enough to unlock the next set of weapon upgrades i felt really lacking in movement
@@Necro_fury my recommendation would be to go out and explore a bit more before tackling the rest of the game. If you got a traversal upgrade, try to find as many things as you can before progressing further, that's how I played my first time and I had a pretty nice time with the game. Blasphemous II can be a pretty challenging and fair game, but if you'll forget about exploration, you will definitely make things a bit too hard for yourself or absolutely excruciating (I remember seeing a certain Asmon streamer fighting pre-final boss once with barely upgraded health. It was pretty funny, but also painful to watch ngl).
Finally, I watched your video. So satisfying. Really, really, really cool fight! The way you do the no-damage run in this room, change weapons, and diversify your playstyle... Truly masterful! ❤
Why does every single weapon do so much damage, what kind of build are you using?

I’m glad someone’s showing off how awesome this game’s combat is. This Metroidvania has DMC combos in it and more people should know.
I've been stuck on this boss for 4 hours now a real pain. Idk how to get past the spam bs he does crazy how people make it looks so easy
Thank you for recommending me this video, I never finished the boss rush mode and now I want to try it again and test the charged attack as tou saud :))
Aside from the opportunities I've mentioned, you can do a bit more advanced things with this attack in general, which was also showcased here! Anyways, have fun )
Me thinking "the charge attack was pure sh*t in the first game, i won't even bother trying it" But HOLY SHIT i was so wrong...
The move that I have punished with a charge attack is specifically designed for it. While his sword is glowing any attack will deal miniscule damage to him. Sure, you can punish it with a four-hit combo, but the first 3 hits would barely count and only the final one will deal its intended damage which is still going to be low. But if you just start charging and wait for his sword to stop glowing, then you can release it and deal proper amount of damage. Lesmes and Infanta also have attacks that you can optimally punish this way. Blasphemous I also have these kind of charge attack punishes, where bosses won't even allow you to execute your full combo, but they will still wait for a bit before restarting their agression. Red Amanecida is a pretty bright example of this. There's more though. In short: charge attack never was useless, just slightly underutilized by... Everyone I guess. I actually have a video where I somewhat optimally use the charge attack in a Blasphemous I final boss rush challenge, you can check there for further proof of my words on the first game: th-cam.com/video/zMwK3-XGDgk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
My main takeaway from this video is that I should be using the flails aerial charge attack more
I pretty much beat the game with the flail. Except that last guy I needed the parry

Sadly, I couldn't find footage of my figure setup for the life of me, so what I'm telling partly from my memory: The Veteran One The Maiden (fully upgraded) The Traitor The Thief The Anointed One The Mercy + Tirso (Ascending Wrath Resonance) Played with this set up the entirety of the DLC.
