- In this bass fishing video we go topwater fishing in small ponds while bank fishing. Topwater fishing has to be my favorite way to catch bass while bank fishing. I caught a 5 pounder on cheap Walmart two hook torpedo this past Sunday in my pond.
Try some cheap $10.00 top water combo packs from Wallymart.
Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could th-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

All jokes aside, your videos are the main reason I got back into fishing. After a bitter divorce I had to get away from the stress and anger and I chose this path over some less healthy ones. Found your channel while getting myself reacquainted with the sport. My young son is a fan of yours as well. He’s my go-to fishing buddy. He’s obsessed with fishing now. We have largemouth ponds all over around here and fishing is now our thing. I owe that to you and your channel.

Yeah, my Daddy told my brother he'd never catch a bass in small pond down the road, my brother caught a bass 10 inches long and took it home and put it in our bathtub!! Pond fishing in Orlando Fla! Back in the day when you didn't even need bait they would hit a hook with nothing on it!

he uses strike king line because he is sponsored and i don’t really think there is one set best time of day to fish but in my opinion it is usually best to fish between like 5:30 to about 10:00 AM, and there is usually a dead period between like 12:00 and 2:00 pm
Early morning up till about 10 amd after 4 pm at least here in CT.

If you’re going to fish a popper, I don’t recommend a medium heavy or straight braid. You’ll lose fish and bend out hooks.
