Hard to pick between Makita Milwaukie and Dewalt they are much the same on par with each other.
Although Dewalt does have the 54v twin system for their drop saw which runs battery or power (240v in Aus) which gives a great option.

I used th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell

About 35 years ago I built my second house, my uncle being a contractor/carpenter had Makita tools, like 30 handsaw, 25 drills, 40 impacts.....all Makita, I asked him why, he did not answered, he handed me a saw and said try it!...It was amazing comparing it to my B&D, then he told me it was the first company that he never had service problem, and the less equipment issues...and because he has so many tools, dealing with one company is easier ... I then researched the company, and Makita is the only company engineering their batteries and their motors, so I adopted Makita, never bought a replacement tool, never had a failure but for 35 years some of my tools had a real beating, also I love the fact that they came out with the 18 volts line, and stuck to it, so for the last 10 years I never had to buy a different voltage battery....everything is compatible, 10 years old battery with brand new tool, and 10 years old tool with brand new battery...the only weird thing is the white tools, they accept all batteries, but the blue tools do not accept the white tools battery?!?!? Not enough power I guess...minor thing! SO I'm looking to go wireless on the impact wrench...I think I will stick to Makita!

I'm with you, I have a lot of Bosch blue, my old 18v Bosch was that good they still make it only now lithium ion instead of nim, the makita drills feel cheap. That said my makita brushless grinder is the dogs, an takes a good beating every time I use it ( most days since I bought it 2 years ago) .this dtw1002z impact is another example of makita quality product. I think Milwaukee have lots of products but they are Chinese made, cheap feeling and don't feel like you're getting what you pay for. Dewalt have some nice stuff but also have junk. Trouble is not one company makes all the best tools an with the price of battery tools a diy man would be better off with a cheap end battery drill/ driver and everything else mains power. Lack of use for battery tools is a problem because when you need it, will be flat or knackered cos DIY was done 5 years ago.

I started out using makita 7.2v drills the early 80s. Never looked back, like you I like the fact they haven't messed the 18v range around. One platform for all my tools, one notable improvement is the brushles motor. I know we're you coming from when you said you could have a 10 year old battery on a brand new tool and 10 year old tool on new battery. Here in the UK we had a problem with new batteries not fitting older tools, we overcome this by filing a small bit of plastic lip of.

@@michaelbamber4887 I'm heavily invested with the 18v range in our business. They get a beasting in all weathers and dont let me down, that's why I use them. I've had a half a dozen Bosch 9.6v back in the 80/90 which were good but when you're 200 miles from home and you're variable speed trigger burns out its really stressful, I carried spares in my kit. With makita I didn't have to do that.

Yea the makita Definitely seems more for construction work with the added weight & the lower RPMs With the Milwaukee Fuel being more for automotive work. but as you can see the makita can hold its own with the higher torque impacts & is a really well built tool they Definitely put alot of thought into it with its added features like the duel light being able to be kept off or on & the O ring base to help with the vibration. Good honest no fuss comparison without loads of numbers crunching, its just what the man in the street needs to know. Here in England the Makita tools generally cheaper than Milwaukee but the opposite is true with the batteries and Milwaukee do a monster 9.0Ah battery. On the basis of this video I'm going to get the Makita only because I have a number of other Makita tools on the same battery platform. I do however like the Milwaukee stuff and think its only time before I have some in my workshop/garage.

Stephen McDermott Thanks Man Much appreciated! & Yea they are both really Nice Impacts I like the Makita alot as well as the Milwaukee Fuel. You Should love the Makita if that's what you end up getting really high end tool they built it like a tank with no issues. Also Makita seems to run about the same price as the Milwaukee here on the East Coast of the United States in Pennsylvania. Milwaukee seems to have better deals with there combo kits but I also see Makita products drop alot in price as well. Oh also idk how old your Makita Batterys are but make sure they have the little yellow strip on the battery with the star if they don't then they will not Work in the New impact Wrench. They updated alot of the tools to the new battery is sucks for ppl with alot of the older style Batterys b.c they won't work in the newer tools.

I have purchased the 1/2" Snap Ring Milwaukee and the 4th setting is for taking bolts off but also has another feature that when setting bolts in concrete or other materials the computer senses when it has been fully driven and stops the motor from continuing. I so far have not seen anything of the sort from any other companies.

I'm on both Milwaukee and Makita battery platforms with their respective 5AH batteries. Both of these torque wrench look like beasts; I'm personally inclined towards the design of the Makita. Between the anti-vibration interface at base of the handle, the rubberized protective bumps on the side and boot, the assembly screws that screw into the metal casing instead of into the plastic, I feel that it was well thought out. The minor difference in nut busting torque is a moot point for me, at these extreme high levels it's tapering off in usability, they both have enough grunt to literally snap extremely seized bolts at full power if hammered too hard. I give it to Milwaukee on the size for super tight areas and the fact you can run 9AH if you must. Even Dewalt's is impressive enough. Can't go wrong with any of these in my book. Gotta love the competition pushing eachother in the market. Thanks for this video up, love seeing them in action on various tasks. Cheers

& Yes I agree 100% Both of these impacts are amazing! They definitely have enough power to "Destroy" almost any task you throw at them literly lol. The compact size weight & power 100% goes to the Newer Milwaukee it really is an amazing tool!. The Makita is really nice tho as well. Like you said with the boot attached & the screws going into to metal housing instead of the plastic & the detail & forward thinking made it a very innovated Impact Wrench.
Makita is very big on the details. Then again so is the Milwaukee in there own way. You can't go wrong with either of these impacts.
It really all depends on what kinda work you will be doing with them & which platform you are in.
      Thanks again for commenting nubscrub!😊

Everything else being equal, the tie-breaker is the charging system. Makita wins by a mile when it comes to the charging system. Makita charges faster and cooler than either Milwaukee or Dewalt.

    • @Osprey1994
      @Osprey1994 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@stevew3978 That's a huge tiebreaker in my book. If you are a pro you probably have a bunch of batteries but if you are at home you probably don't want to buy more than two. This being said if you can rotate the batteries on and off the charger then that's an absolute lifesaver. Not to mention heat is not good for batteries so I would be curious to see how many charges you get out of the Milwaukee before they degrade.

    • @toolfein5079
      @toolfein5079  7 ปีที่แล้ว

TheCattlekings No problem man! & yea i really like the 3/8 impacts I have the Milwaukee Fuel one with the 4 modes & it's got balls for a little impact 200 ft lbs to be exact. Its works great on small cars for Tire changes and rotations.
I have the adapter for 1/4 driver bits to use it as an impact driver as well Very Bad Ass tool.
I know Makita has the same size compact brushless 3/8 or 1/2in impact Wrench with 3 modes & 210 ft-lbs which is really nice as well I almost bought that one but got my fuel one as a free bare tool with my 6,1/2in circular saw kit a little over a year ago.
Now about The Bosch they have a 1/2 compact Brushless impact Wrench with 3 modes & another version that is both a 1/2 impact Wrench & a 1/4in impact driver in one & also with the 3 modes it's pretty cool. Only down side is that both models only put out 133ft-lbs or 137 ft-lbs compared to the other brands with 200ft-lbs or more. So it's a little underpowered. The Bosch is really nice & really well built & they are really stepping it up with there New 18v Core Batterys & wireless chargers.
In the end it's all about personal preference & how much Power you need from the tool to do the work you need it to do. Also the price range for all 3 are pretty close to the same but that also depends on a few things if you are looking for a kit with Batterys & Charger or just & bare tool. Definitely do some shopping around and some research before you buy anything b.c I know you can get some really good deals with all the brands.

I need to say something since a lot of folks comenting this video,i am working as chief engineer and i worked with a lot of cordless tools brands like milwaukee, aeg, metabo, bosch pro, makita, hitachi, snap on and etc,in engine room you have evaporators which are used to produce fresh water from sea water,so one of the main parts of evaporator is booster heater so after some working hours covers of this huge booster have to be opened for inspection and for cleaning so to open this covers you need to unfasten app. 20 bolts, then when you have condensate lines and when they are leaking in connections and gaskets, also leakages on main boilers and on hot well and only 4 brands manage to unfasten these seized bolts on this covers and return pipes of the codensate i need to emphasize that this bolts are corroded due to seawater and high temperature, steam so the brands which were sucessful were dewalt, aeg, milwaukee, metabo and bosch pro, this 5 brands will provide you 5 years of warantee specially i like aeg impact wrench with 6 modes hwt 18,metabo ssw, bosch cordless, but makita not,it seems that makitas dtw 1001,1002 and hwt08 do not have power to unfasten this connections, also there is one thing that aeg share same platform they are part of the same group and from my point of view milwa.cordless gun of 1 inch anvil is freaking awesome that hit spot,so bottom line why you should buy tools or what is point of buying tools which are not design for heavy duty tasks or we can say why do you need to buy brand which is not able to perform task i mean on makita, according to my experience of 40 years the makita is not same like 15-20 years ago specially when they change coluor from green to blue and also one more thing if you need the tools for heavy duty use buy this 4 brands if you do light machinery and diy buy some other brands like crapita

The Makita looks impractical and bulky, but owning one now, I realise it's actually not that bad - notice the rubber front end that graduates to the full thickness of the tool, where the Milwaukee has no such gradation (it's there but it hardly does anything). When pulling off control arms/bushing housings, I find the Makita to be a little more practical, but feels a lot more hefty because of the weight distribution being a bit off - still prefer the Makita in the end - oh and it's made in Japan, which is nice.

Nice comparison work. My guess is, probably no user error going on there. A few guesses as to what’s going on:
    1) both brands we know are excellent, and excellent brands tend to under-rate their numbers, but from what I’ve seen elsewhere Makita tends to underrate even more than Milwaukee. I’ve seen other tests where this same Makita put out about 1000lbft even though it’s rated at only 740. Chances are, the Milwaukee puts out over its rated 1000lbft as well...but maybe not by as big a margin.
    2) the Makita probably has burlier, more solid mechanics (and possibly electricals as well), leading to less energy loss. So while the Milwaukee might make more torque when put on a test bench, it wastes more of its torque combatting energy loss in dynamic work conditions, allowing the Makita to close the gap more. Which contributes to...
    3) if the Makita does in fact have the more efficient mechanics (and possibly electricals), then it’s also using less of its battery as it goes. I also thought the Milwaukee was going a bit faster in the beginning, but as it went on the difference seemed to get more subtle. That would make perfect sense with the Milwaukee draining more of its battery by the end of the test than the Makita. If that’s all true and the test were extended, the Milwaukee would probably slowly fall further behind, and then reach the end of its battery’s charge before the Makita.
Of course, everything I’m saying is speculating. Can’t say with certainty since I don’t have the tools in front of me nor do I have dedicated equipment used to measure these sorts of things. But in general this is how these things tend to work. Great products on both sides in either case.

Yes correct! Out of all the brand Milwaukee fuels is the highest rated impact wrench but the makita does keep right up with it its hard to explain but when you have both in hand you can feel and hear the makita is right there with the Milwaukee even tho the Milwaukee fuel is more powerful both are great impact great quality on both ends. The makita just has a few features the Milwaukee dose not. But Milwaukee is releasing and New 1in impact wrench I'm not sure if you've seen anything about it but it's a Monster looks amazing and the specs are insane lol Team Red all day man! I like Makita but the company I work for supplies us with power tools made by Milwaukee and they have been highly reliable, so my personal power tools are Milwaukee also. We haven't had one issue with warranty claims. I don't think Milwaukee is necessarily better than other companies but they are definitely sharing a spot at the top of the ranks. You really can't go wrong with any of the companies out there.

I personally think Milwaukee is at the top just because it’s practicality in terms of the value you get, the longevity and your ability to actually use the tool on a job. The Makita is nice but it’s freakin heavy, LIKE HEAVY LET ALONE TOO BIG TO USE ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS ON JOBSITES. It’s a great tool indeed but it’s just not the most portable things. Yes they are used two-handedly but Milwaukee always has the “just right” to it and makes the sickest and high quality tools.

john henderson Hey Bro I was thinking about your situation & If I were you I would return the
(Bare Tool) & get your money back or the Credit you paid & reorder the kit. That would be your best bet & the smartest way to go about it financially. Also Makita was having a awesome sale on their two 5.0 battery kit for the XTW08 & other tools. If you bought that kit you also got 2 extra batteries or bare tool I think. I'm not sure if they're still having a sale but either way I would return the bare tool and reorder for a kit even if there are no sales. Hope all works out for you man.!!🤘

    • @toolfein5079
      @toolfein5079  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

+Big Daddy Yea They are Super close in the RPM... & It's only 50 Rpm difference. This Milwaukee Fuel modle 2767 has 1,750 RPM & 2,100 IPM With 1,000 FtLbs
Forward torque & 1,400 FT'Lbs In Nut Busting Torque
      Makita XWT08 has 1,800 RPM 2,200 IPM
& Has 740 FTLBS Forward Torque & 1,180 Nut Busting Torque
Now The Milwaukee Fuel pin detent model 2766 Has 1800 RPM & 2,400 IPM so this modle has the RPM To match the Makita & Also go over Makitas IPM by 200
They are both Bad Ass Impacts with Crazy Power!! & in this type of application They are pretty much tied. Now when it comes to Automotive Work Or big rusted out nuts & bolts on a construction site. The Milwaukee would shine better b.c of the 200 more FtLbs Milwaukee has in forward and reverse.
Also it's more compact & lighter by 1 to 2 LBS.
So it really all depends on the work you will be doing with the tool & which platform you are in or choose to be in ya know. Again they Both are Monster's when it comes to putting them to work!! Lol

What about battery life, charge time, number of charges? Tool weight?
I found out recently that battery adapters do exist so I am not really afraid of picking whatever tool I feel is better in that category.
PS. The battery on the Makita seems to be representative of what I heard on another video. A guy who works with these tools regularly said that the Milwaukee's are really powerful but they are going to chew through batteries. I like the big numbers but if Makita can last longer on a charge I might have to pick it. But adapters are a thing so maybe it's worth mixing and matching depending on if you need power or endurance.

Hi, I just bought Makita, nice tool but I'm thinking to go for Milwaukee? Is it worth to change it, I'm also looking to get hammer drill, mid torque wrench and angle grinder and I would like to stick to only one platform, which one would be better overall. Alex, Tool Fein, what you really think about Makita as a platform and that Impact gun, I'm a bit confused now.. Makita its a nice tool, solid piece, but when I watched this video is put me a bit of thinking if I done right buying Makita.. Please help me clear up my thoughts.
Thanks for great video Tool Fein.

+Mariusz Salatka Hey how are ya Buddy! Thanks for the support man! To answer your questions if the makita impact you bought is the only tool from the platform you own & are just starting out or truly want a new platform personally I would Go wirh Milwaukees 18v Fuel line. I have every tool you just said besides the mid tourqe in my line up & they are amazing! Milwaukee usually has more deals as well. Also Milwaukee has a 5 year Warranty on the tools & 3 on batterys & charger. Makita only has a 3 year warranty & 1 or 2 on the Batterys & Charger.
The Milwaukee breaking grinder is Bad Ass the one i own dose Work!
So if you can Return the Makita &Get the Milwaukee kit & get the other fuel power tools you won't be disappointed brother! Hopefully that helps with you choice if there's anything else you need to ask lmk & I'll get back to you asap! Have a good one man!

Thank you for a quick response, I think I'm gonna return Makita and get Milwaukee, thank you for clear up, very appreciated, only trouble I can't get 2767 in UK yet, I have to wait till comes available.

Mariusz Salatka No problem Man! & Thank you I'm really trying to make decent videos for my channel. I'm really glad you like them. I'm hoping to have one up soon of the Milwaukee Fuel Brakeing Grinder should be fun to make!
Also Since you are unable to get the 2767 Fuel impact right now maybe hold on to the Makita B.c it is a Great Tool with loads of power very close to the Fuel impact. You can use that for the work you need & just get all the other tools Milwaukee fuel 18v line that way 90% of your tools are in 1 platform still & get the 2767 Fuel when it comes out. Or you can keep the Makita impact and just stay in there line if there tools are more avaible to you in the UK.. Makita dose have a really great Brushless grinder & great other brushless tools there hammer drill is really nice as well but it's been out for a long time now should hopefully be comeing out with a new modle soon. Also tho the Makita dose not have a mid tourqe impact as of now. Hopefully you can get it all worked out my friend & if there's anything else ya need just lmk. Mid-range power shure the Makita can hang but its still not a fair match up if you test for max torque, the milwaukee 2767 has 1000 lbs fastening max torque and 1400 ft lbs break away for the half inch, the Makita does not, currently we have the Ingersol Rand that is the strongest battery powered 1/2 inch with 1000 fastening and 1500 breaking, thus just beating the Milwaukee 2767, the 1 inch milwaukee is 1500 however. Makita is still very nice though

  • @JPizzle95Z

driving lag bolts in wood are are not a good test for these. Speed and fastening/breakaway torque are 2 different things. my 3rd gen 2853 1/4" impact will land a 8×1/2 lag in nearly the same time lol... Difference is, if i drive the bolt into a knot in the wood, the 1/4" impact wont cut it. The 2767 absolutely will. either way ol' red is where its at. i like havin fun from time to time with stuff like this just to see what some tools will and won't do. 🤘

+brian klein Hey Brian Thank for your comment! & Thank you for your Service to our Country!
I will be doing a part 2 to this Video with car lugs, truck lugs, & a few big nuts and bolts in the next few days & hopefully that will be a better comparison for your trade.. The Milwaukee fuel & Makita are both Great Tools & Brands. The Milwaukee fuel is more compact & lighter by a little bit, so it may be better if its your everyday tool .. The Makita is a very Powerful tool as well you can't go wrong with either of these tools. The Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty on the tool & 3 on the battery Makitas is a 3 year warranty period. If you need the extra torque then I'd go with the Milwaukee fuel, but if your friends Makita dose the work you need it to & you like Makita better' then 100% go with what you like. I Really like the New Milwaukee Fuel i do think in the end the FT-LBS Will show with the Bigger Nuts & Bolts especially if you work as a mechanic. Again it all depends on what you need it to-do.
These videos I just do for fun....
      Nothing scientific....
I just show how they work and what they can do. I hope this was helpful and I hope to see your commenting on my future videos!

kyle Dubbyah Thank you I appreciate the support!
I Would 100% say the Milwaukee Fuel has more power! In the end it's much more compact and has a extra mode with 4 when the Makita has 3. Also in power the Milwaukee fuel has 1000ft Lbs to the Makita with 740ft lbs in forward & in Reverse has Milwaukee with 1400ft Lbs & Makita with 1180ft lbs. So again in the end the Milwaukee Fuel has much more power when it comes to doing lugnuts or nuts & Bolts in breakaway torque & in forward. They both are really Great & have insane amount of power! To the point you can't go Wrong with either of these impacts. Both of them will do 98% of the work you'll need to-do on a day to day but like I said the Milwaukee fuel is the Top Dog in the end. I hope that helped to answer your question.

+kyle Dubbyah Well from what I've seen and experienced myself I think for your line of work the Milwaukee Fuel 2nd Gen would be better for you personally. Again it's more compact has and extra mode and has over 200ft LBS more in both Forward and Reverse torque then the Makita. Now there may be some blots on the machine you work with that neither impact will be able to remove.
For example like old rusted up tracks or things like that, but the Milwaukee again I think would be better for your line of work I would also recommend getting the boot cover for it if you do decide to go with the Milwaukee fuel. Both these impacts are great tools with a shit ton of power. But.. the Milwaukee fuel definitely has more torque and Power. Now when it comes to Wood or Construction they're evenly matched but when it comes to Industrial or mechanical work I would definitely go with the Milwaukee fuel second gen high torque impact wrench.

I have all Milwaukee tools, love them, bit expensive but I like the quality. I have the same impact, works great, a bit bulky for what I bought it for though ha, the Makita is a bit bigger so that's a negative. Either way both brands have great tools. All I can say is pick the brand you want and stick with it because batteries are not cheap for any decent brand!

Makita has pretty much always been a small % better than Milwaukee. But it's typically not worth the price difference. Unlike dewalt vs. milwaukee, where it's definitely worth it to go milwaukee - unless you need some of the plastic dewalt pieces to keep the tool lighter. For instance, if you're flying regularly and need to get under a baggage limit for your tools. Almost every dewalt drill or impact I've tried has been signficantly lighter than the equivillent milwaukee drill. But usually not nearly as good. You can't go wrong with the m18 or m12 system these days. Infact m12 is pretty badass nowadays.

+RAMON GONZALES Thanks for Watching man! & Yes they are both Bad Ass Tools
100% But The Milwaukee Fuel is My Go to Now over my Makita & The Milwaukee is a little lighter & more compact and has more power when it comes down to it. I Hope to have the mid tourqe impact Wrench soon and will be doing a Review on it. I've heard nothing but amazing things about it. I have the 2nd Gen compact 3/8 & that dose 70% of the work I need it to-do & pull out the Big Guns when needed.

That's what it's all about!😎🤘 & if you want to see a little more on the Makita I have another video on my channel comparing the features between them. I forgot to add on that the Makita can have it's duel LED light turned on or off by holding the mode button in for a sec or 2.
The Milwaukee you can't change but... The One Key version will be out this December & you can change all types of things. Happy Turkey Day! I hope you have a Great Thanksgiving!😊

ggf cfhvyy Makita is also made in China and other places all over the world. Just like every other tool company. Go look it up. Who cares where tools are made, they are global. No one cares if things are made in the USA anymore. Not everyone lives in the USA to care if what they buy is made there. USA doesn’t mean quality like it did 50 years ago.
