Thank you for the video! I also started with OUABH, reading book 2 now. Planning to read Caravan after so didn’t finish the video so as to not get spoilers. How would you rank the books and series?
I tried to keep the video as spoiler-free as possible! So you should be 'safe’ 😊.That said, I’d really recommend reading Caraval first because OUABH takes place after the main events in Caraval. When I first started OUABH, I remember feeling a bit 'lost,' like I was supposed to know certain things that I just didn’t (lol). For example, Donatella is mentioned in OUABH, but if you haven’t read Caraval, you might not fully grasp why she’s so important. She’s actually one of the main characters in Caraval. Jacks' backstory is also explored in Caraval, especially since he becomes a key character starting from book two.
So what I did was pause OUABH after finishing the first book, read Caraval, and honestly, everything made so much more sense afterward 😂. I’m not sure how far you are into book two, but if you finish the OUABH series first and then read Caraval, I’d recommend re-reading OUABH afterward. You’ll have so many 'aha' moments! 😂
As for my ranking, Caraval is a 5-star series for me. The writing style is so unique, and I loved it! 😍 I didn’t enjoy OUABH as much, mainly because of Evangeline 😅… but Jacks really saved the series for me. Honestly, if he had been the main love interest in Caraval, I think it would have been even more popular!
@@sunnydreamylife You’re so right - I felt lost for the good 1/3 of OUABH, read the few first chapters and then put it on hold for almost a month. And then continued reading because the book was just there though plot and world settings made little sense.
I started throughly enjoying the book near the end and then immediately started reading the 2nd book. And reading it I understood why the series got all the hype.
In the second half of the book I stopped hating Evangeline 😁Today I’m reading the third book - last one in the series. After I finish I will go back to your video and maybe also read Caraval
The second book is the best one out of the series ❤! I highly recommend reading Caraval if you like OUABH universe since Caraval is set up in the same world :). And I think the writing style in Caraval gives even more whimsical and fairytale vibes 😁
I loved Jacks in both Caraval and Once Upon A Broken Heart but Evangeline… she was so annoying 😂🙃
Out of the three FMC, Evangeline was my least favorite as well 😅
