    Thanks for all the tips. They are a great help. My wife and I are huge Banjo-Kazooie fans too! Great reference!

    Antoine, I think you must have a bottomless bag full of ideas to share. Every lesson is unique and fun AND this one is no exception. How cool to play only two triads and make them sound totally epic like straight out of a popular movie. I was hearing several movie sounds distinctly. I am going to pickup my Strat and see what movies I can come up with.

      Want to give back as much as I can! I can surely talk about chords for years and years! I want people to watch my free lessons on TH-cam and then go: ''WOW! If this is his free content, I can't imagine what his paid content is like!!!''.

    Really nice explanation. I would like to see lessons on "storytelling" through chord progressions.

    Very interesting, it is really cool to have something explained like that. I play by ear a lot and I can hear what works and what does not. It is neat to know why that is in theory.

    Ok so do I need to alter the modes I use as well for this I could start in c ionian but instead of aeolian for the change to the 6th chord would I use like one of the melodic minor modes or something

    iv'e a silly question , does it apply only to major scale ?

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That can apply to minor too. In both cases, you end up using chords outside your key when you use chromatic mediants!

    Exactly, most of us spend a lot of time learning or even stuck playing diatonic scales and chords that we sometimes miss the point there are no rules and there are lots non-conventional but cool chord progressions.

    Antony, when will the KORDZ course begin?

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It usually opens once every 6 months. BUT you can send me an email at antoine@ambientguitaracademy.com for the complete explanation.

    For my ear the most beautiful, dark and epic mediant ( and you don't talk about it) is a minor chord separated by a major third with an other minor chord. It's used by John Williams in Duel of the fates ( Cm - Em ) and the feeling and darkness generated are just insane !!!
