Love the vids. I would recommend getting a stitching pony. It makes life a lot easier. The wallet turned out great 👍
Never without pony. Because it allows you to tighten the thread more evenly and in the same way every time. Likewise, stitching method is better every time in the same way. And dirty fingers don't constantly mess up the leather surface. Many other too. The blades what use should be sharper. A recoilless mallet is best. You have hit it once, it goes through. The hammer also does not hit the top of the glass, even if there is leather in between.
I am making this wallet now. It has turned out to be quite the lesson... not a beginner project

Doing some great work STR. This video reminds me of why I refuse to do interiors in Cordovan. So much material is lost in the skivving process. As a craftsman it hardly seems cost effective and everyday friction wears away the interior finish. Keep up the great content brother.

I'm very impressed with the beauty of the work you can produce, but have a question about your construction. I've noticed that some leather workers use hand stitching ponies and others don't. Is a stitching pony not of any use to you? Would you recommend one to a beginning leather worker? Thanks for the video.... Keefe
Keefe Borden i have tried to use, but find out that without its more faster for me. It doesnt some how affect stitching quality. So i think its up to you, use it or not. Need to try i decide which way is more comfortable for you.
Brillant working. its awesome. I wonder something. For edge working, first saddle soap, second slicker, sand paper, beeswax and slicker again. Can you describe why ? Or for example, i want to dye edge togetger with these. Which order should I follow ? Can you help me ?
First with water, soap and slicker im smoothening edge, then some sanding and adding beeswax and with high speed rotating slicker melting beeswax, and it works quite good for me.

Hola, lo siento, no soy bueno en español, solo uso el traductor del inglés. Su pieza plana de latón sólido que estoy usando para capas uniformes de cuero que estoy pegando y también se quita el pegamento del borde del cuero.

Shell Cordovan usually varies between 1.2-2mm, for inside parts im using thinner, for outside part thicker

Every shell various in thickness from around 1 to 2mm
STR Handmade is there a way to order it by thickness or is it lick if the draw? Most of my projects need to be 1.2 mm.
