    Just came back from Lesson 3, with rain squalls, 4 in the circuit at Elstree and then HeliMed landing 100m off the end of the threshold - and its all because of people like you that I started this!!!! Loving it!!!

    Hi James,
    I’ve watched plumberparts for ages but didn’t know about the flying and this channel. I have just subscribed here too, loads of respect for gaining your PPL. It takes a lot of time and work to gain your PPL, well done. Great flight in challenging conditions and great rapport with ATC. Enjoyed the chat too, look after your mates. Well done, regards, chris.

    Wow! What a landing in the end :) I've just started circuits last week (It's taken 14 months but Covid and the lockdown meant I didn't fly for 6 months) so it was great to watch. Some great thoughts about the times we find ourselves in as well. Cheers James!

    Inspiring flying, I'm only able to do this on XP11. Quite enjoy the debrief format, post flight. Would you consider doing a wing mounted 3rd camera? Really agree with how everyone has been effected in some way and it's great that you are talking about mental health.

    Hi James,
    I wonder, is your flight training for pure pleasure or is the plan to be become a commercial pilot and perhaps leave plumbing business? Just curious...

    Great video James, nice editing. Really must visit Duxford again soon. Out of curiosity why did you alter flap so low down almost over the runway?

    • @TimesWithJames
      @TimesWithJames  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Liam, glad you liked! On 'big wind' days I tend to approach att eh way to the runway to reduce the aircraft being nudged about and off center during final. I don't usually add it in this late (you can land without) but normally pop it in after turning final followed by some trim.

    10 degree is not a crosswind lol. Its straight down the runway and actually it makes landing easier. I agree on the though 14 g 19, for a low time pilot its definitely sporty.

    • @victorsierra4109
      @victorsierra4109 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      & the fuel pump that is on, its no deal at all. I actually don't turn off my fuel pump till altitude. On days I stay in the pattern or do maneuvers, I'll leave it on the whole time.

  • @chrispalmann6727
    @chrispalmann6727 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    2 comments. Fuel pump on in the circuit! You are at a 1000 feet if the pump fails you quick run out of space to deal with it.
    I was told top of decent into land. 2nd Full flap should be applied shortly after turning final to get the approach stabilised.

      Fuel pump is on in circuit. It backs up the engine driven fuel pump so there is redundancy in the event of either pump failing.
      This is correct procedure for the PA28 Warrior
