22 years living in Alaska. Yes, caught many a rainbow and dollies. In fact there is a canoe trail on the Kenai peninsula called Moose river. Great fishing. As teenagers we would be out for days and would run out of food. So as soon as we caught a fish, we would paddle like mad to shore, build a fire, eat the fish, and head back out for more.
Also, a buddy and I headed out for Fairbanks from Anchorage in my brand new 1979 Silverado. About halfway there the motor started knocking. I stopped, checked the oil, not a drop to be seen. I put in the 2 quarts I had and still nothing showed. Hadn't seen any traffic in the last hour, but another truck pulled up right away. He just happened to have an entire case of oil which he gave to us. To this day I have no idea where the oil went. It wasn't burning it, and the engine compartment was totally clean. And the underside as well.

I am so grateful to be a part of this channel and see the incredible things you do. Not only for yourself and your family, but for everyone around you in your life. We need more people like you around.
First but not the last time ive watched your channel. Im 72 years old and after seeing you stop and help a stranger and then tell your story about your father it brought back so many great memories of my dad and the type of man he was. Ive tried all my life to follow my fathers example about helping others. When you said humanity needs help i thought finally someone who sees what i see. Ive never met you but i know with all my heart id like you and we could be good friends. Dont change ,help this country of ours change back to the way it used to be. I will be watching more of your videos for as long as im going to be around. Ive got terminal cancer and they gave me two years five years ago ,but ive had a wonderful life and it gives me comfort knowing theres still men like you left in our nation and that gives me hope for my grandchildren.

Back in 1974 we moved to Green River Wyoming where we were trout fishing on the Flaming Gorge Reservoir and caught some huge Rainbows. Gutted them and baked them with butter onions seasoning. Delicious!!!!! Thanks for taking us on your journey. From S. E. Ohio, see y'all next time!!

When I was just a kid in the late sixties I remember how cool it was when my older brother came home with a real chain fish stringer. All we had until then was those stick stringers.
As a truck driver an a huge fan, every 20-100 miles always do a pre-trip when you stop, having a gut feeling, or going through different terrain.
I used to camp & fish with my Dad & Father-in-law in the mountains of ne GA for Rainbows. Every evening we cooked the fish over an open fire. Some wrapped in foil, butter, lemon, others we would add onions & garlic. Oh my word was it good. Priceless memories.
OK DMFD, I have to say this. You guys are impressive. The family oriented content, reference to the Lord, the whole feel of this channel has brought joy to my heart. My father taught me how to fish and hunt, and of course, about God. He has terminal cancer now, and is 78 years old. We are all each other has. In dark days, light will find you. You guys are my light right now. Thank you so much for all that yall do! I can't tell you how much it is appreciated.

Rainbow trout fresh caught with butter like that is really hard to beat. I have had few fish that rival it. Some people don't like the little bones but you get used to em. Good stuff. Those are beautiful catches I love Rainbow Trout. LOVE them!

The foil wrapped trout with butter and onions like you did is the best way to cook up a nice meal on a shoreline over an open fire. When my buddy and I go camping it's the highlight dinner of the trip if we catch a few trout.

Pierce Fl and 9 days later we were in Anchorage bro since then I have been over the Alcan hwy 20 times and flown it 22 times the latest in Sept of 21... thanks for the memories again y'all..... Hey guys, my name is Marc Fayd'herbe , I just love your programs, I come from Durban South Africa and we go trout fishing in the drakensberg mautains (2 hrs away from the coast) quite often , what we do to cook trout is this - gut the fish, put your spices and herbs in the gut cavity then wrap the fish in about 3 to 5 pages of newspaper, dip the whole parcel of newspaper into the lake, then place it on the grill for 20 mins on each side ... when you open it up the trout is beautifully steamed + the skin and scales stay stuck to the newspaper and what you have left to eat is this beautiful pink steamed flesh , it's the easiest and most tasty no-fuss way to cook trout , try it and you'll thank me !!
