The India Startup Seed Fund Scheme is a government initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to early-stage startups. The scheme aims to help startups overcome the initial funding hurdle and build a strong foundation for their businesses.
It is necessary to provide seed funding to startups with an innovative idea to conduct proof of concept trials, but unfortunately, the funding from angel investors and venture capital firms is available to startups only after the proof of concept has been provided.
Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) aims to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialization.
The SISFS would enable the startups to graduate to the next level. At this level the banks and financial institutions may also agree to provide debt funding to the startups who might have started commercialization.
Considering these issues being faced by Startups, DPIIT has launched a Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) with an outlay of INR 945 Crore to provide financial assistance to startups for Proof of Concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization.
SISFS will support an estimated 3,600 entrepreneurs through 300 incubators.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India announced the scheme in his Grand Plenary address of Prarambh: Startup India International Summit on January 16, 2021 and the same was notified on 21.01.2021.
The Seed Fund will be disbursed to eligible startups through eligible incubators across India.
This course is to provide complete knowledge of Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. The course is divided into 7 classes, as per details below:
CLASS DAY 1
KEY FEATURES OF STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will discuss following important key features of the scheme:
1. What is Startup India Seed Fund Scheme?
2. Which Startups are eligible?
3. What is the amount of funding?
4. Which Sectors are eligible?
CLASS DAY 2
APPLICATION PROCESS UNDER STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will discuss following important issues related to application process for the Grant and Debt Funding of the scheme:
1. Where to apply for this funding?
2. Application is Online or Offline?
3. What is the application fees?
4. What is application processing timeline?
5. How to track the status of application?
CLASS DAY 3
ROLE OF INCUBATORS UNDER STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will discuss following issues about the role of incubators under the scheme, as the application need to be submitted with the incubators:
1. How many incubators can be approached?
2. Reason for applying more than one incubators?
3. How to choose the incubators?
4. Can preference order of Incubators be changed after application?
5. What if application is rejected by all incubators?
CLASS DAY 4
PARAMETERS OF EVALUATION UNDER STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will discuss about the parameters for evaluation of startup applicants under the scheme.
CLASS DAY 5
DISBURSEMENT UNDER STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will discuss following issues related to the disbursement procedure for the grant and debt funding under the scheme:
1. Where can funding be used?
2. Time schedule for first disbursement?
3. Reporting process after receiving seed fund?
CLASS DAY 6
FAILURE OF STARTUP UNDER STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will discuss following issues related to the failures of any startups after getting disbursement under the scheme:
1. What if my startup fails after receiving the seed fund?
2. Will there be any liability on founder or Startup company, if the startup fails?
CLASS DAY 7
STEP BY STEP PROCESS FOR ONLINE APPLICATION UNDER STARTUP INDIA SEED FUND SCHEME
On this day, we will take you for the filing of application, in a step by step process. After this class, you will be able to file your application sitting at the comfort of your home or office.
As a bonus you will be invited to join a physical event with the experts of the subject to clarify any of your doubt on the scheme.
