As an ozzy, Maiden & Motorhead fan this is a must on the wish list for any die hard fans. I recently read his book & it was awesome. Kyle thanks for inviting us to your tour. Hope you enjoyed every second of it.
Great video, Kyle. I've been reading about this place for years. So cool to finally see it and watch you experience it. Miss Lemmy so much. You could always count on a new Motorhead album coming out. Felt like Lemmy would go on forever. He really never felt old until the very end. Loved how you got Dio in there too. So lucky to be able to grow up with such legends.
Okay brother here it is in 1989 I moved to Mission Viejo California from Tallahassee Florida I was a rock and roll fan and had been since my youth after several months of working hard and making good money I chose to go to Hollywood which I'd always heard of I went to the Rainbow Bar and Grill parked out back went inside and there's a guy sitting there who look like you was off the streets he has an old cowboy hat on on and was playing a video game I ordered a pitcher of beer and he looked at me and said I'll put that on my tab I thought that was pretty cool the bartender was very nice I got up with my picture and went out to the back porch and there was nobody there besides that man after a few minutes I came back to sit down and talk to him pretty cool dude he had a very Gruff voice I did not know who he was and at that time I had no really followed the band Motorhead after a few minutes I thought of it for a moment didn't really think you would after that we got to talkin about 15 minutes or so he had a very strong English accent with a scraggly voice and he asked me if I wanted to smoke a joint I said sure man let's do it I've only yet time I followed him outside the side door of the rainbow we went across the street and people seem to know him and all the cars we passed they were saying Lemme how's it going let me how's it going I did not know this guy and I had no idea who he was we got down to his apartment which is about a block block-and-a-half across the street and down to the left went upstairs to his apartment and there were books everywhere he had shelves of books everywhere I obviously had already been drinking beer and I got wasted after that moment again I did not know who he was we walk back up to the rainbow and I figured guys got a small apartment got a lot of books so must be pretty smart we started talking he only mentioned that he likes rock and roll music he did not mention who he was to this day I love that because he wasn't looking for me to recognize him he was only looking to be a nice guy months later I figured out who he was by looking at an album cover from a friend of mine I eventually saw Motorhead in concert several times in Anaheim with Queensryche and the Rose Bowl with Metallica and Guns N Roses I never got to see him again personally but I will never ever forget the day that I met Lemmy kilmister at the Rainbow Bar & Grill I had no idea dude was a true man he was a good guy... Regen
Really cool to see you get to do this. If I could time travel, I'd want to go back to the 80's on the Strip when all the rock and metal bands ruled the scene.
I use to drink Whiskey with Lemmy in the early 90's and play Ms. Pacman with him......He once said to me when Ozzy was writing a Song ....that had the Chorus " I don't want to change the Church I don't want the Church to change me"....Lemmy said he Told Ozzy ...Nah keep the Fing Church Out Of it...and they made it " I Don't want to Change the World , I don't want the World to change me" !
Phil Campbell and the bastard sons always play at the annual Motörhead weekend in the Waterloo bar in Blackpool England. My friend organises the gig and it’s class. You need to go mate 🏴
Glad you were able to get the top bucket list item off your list. Not a big metal guy. But I dabbled and motorhead is awesome. Those murals are amazing and breathtaking
Kyle paying tribute to the King of Kings, you're just another member of the Road Crew. Another town, another place Another girl, another face Another truck, another race Eatin' junk, feelin' bad Another night, goin' mad My Woman leavin' I'm so sad But I just love the life I lead Another beer is what I need Another gig, my ears bleed We are the road crew Another town, left behind Another drink, completely blind Another hotel I can't find Another backstage pass for you Another tube of superglue Another border to get through Drivin' like a maniac Drivin' way to hell and back Another room a case to pack We are the road crew Another hotel, we can burn Another screw, another turn Another Europe map to learn Another truckstop on the way Another game that I can play Another word I learned to say Another bloody customs post Another fucking foreign coast Another set of scars to boast We are the road crew
I'm not a motorhead fan. I do appreciate history. I'm not a U2 fan either. Don't disrespect U2. Because ppl watching might feel about U2 like U feel about Motorhead. U wouldn't like it if someone was bad mouthing them. There's bands I feel the same way about. I would hate it if ppl disrespected them. So all I say is I don't like band here then I leave it at that.
U2 fans are part of the problem. It’s kind of like sports in a lot of ways think Yankees/Red Sox. I think you are looking way too deep into things. Gotta toughen up it’s a tough world things like this are not worth getting upset about
I used to hang out there in my younger days. My favorite bar in LA.
The Mattel headquarters are awesome. And that vintage Hollywood vibes is the best

No rock fan should miss out on an opportunity to visit the Rainbow. It's a Holy Pilgramage for hard rock fans. I hope to make it someday,
