Brilliant mate i had them yrs ago but thinner ones , they ones you tested are much thicker and look loads more comfy IL defiantly check them out cheers for review great as always , 👍 Steven
Nice video. Do you find that your feet get wet from your sweat? They don't breath as well, if your footwear is soaked as well, that won't help with the breathability. It may be fine on the bike but could be a problem when hiking all day.
Hi. Thanks for watching and your comments / questions. Sweaty feet, not really. I generally only wear water proof socks in the colder months and when expecting to be riding through streams / water crossings. Wore them 6 days straight in Iceland September 2021. Despite the cold, off road riding all day kept me pretty warm up top but perfect on the bottom half and feet. Very happy with them. I can understand your question about hiking though. Cheers. Billy
Bought some SealSkinz socks -- First impression was Quite Expensive amd I didn't like the way they put 'SealSkins' in big white letters across the front/toes which for me, makes an expensive sock look a bit tacky, They are in effect a sock with a plastic bag in the middle. On wearing them I thought they were comfortable, warm, beathable and of course waterproof and was impressed. I've had them for a couple of months now and have worn/washed them several times and have given them a good 'work out' and I have found that the Merino Wool on the inside quickly seems to be wearing away in patches down to the plastic stuff in the middle. My own personal opinion is they do the job and are comfortable BUT I would like them to be more hard wearing and due to the price, last a long time.
I wonder if they are waterproof if the water is above the knee. I will be hiking and cross multiple streams that are waist deep. wondering if I should just take them and wear them at camp inside my hiking shoes once my shoes are soaked.
Hi Sean. Definitely not water proof once the water rises above the top of the sock! They do not have a seal at the top to stop the ingress of water. Waterproof only up to 1-2 cm from the top of the sock. I like the idea though! Cheers. Billy
Hi Dave. Thanks for watching and your comment!. They should do. Feet not at all cold on the wettest day of riding in Iceland, Day 5 th-cam.com/video/WWfDdF-l_rw/w-d-xo.html, where we spent a lot of time crossing and riding up streams , rivers. They were brilliant. Let me know what you think. Cheers. Billy
@@BillysBikeAdventures that’s great to hear.. I went out two nights ago. Two pair is socks. One pair suppose to be heated with a battery pack. But man my toes especially on the left foot. Was dropping off 😂 👍
Agree, but not really day 1. These socks had a battering in Iceland, everyday use for 6 days, water crossings, rain. Confident that they will still be good next year. Will let you know. Cheers Billy
You really need to do a longer test. I've had numerous pairs of gloves and socks that were "waterproof" for 5 minutes but after that, they absorbed or leaked water. Some lasted 30 minutes then the water crept in. A quick dip is just not a legit test.

Ordered these for kayaking, thanks for the review mate

@@BillysBikeAdventures common sense I assumed as much. I bought a pair and will likely use them in camp to keep my feet dry after my shoes are soaked.
Well, just on this video just ordered a pair. Mainly to keep the feet warm.
I’ll let you know 👍

I know that feeling. These should do a better job! Good luck. Cheers. Billy
@@BillysBikeAdventures Thanks Billy 👍
Do a review on waterproof gloves
Will do mate. Thanks for the idea! Cheers Billy
Do you need to boot size up to wear these socks? Or can you wear your regular shoe size with these on ?
Hi Rick. Thanks for watching and your question. No, use the same size for regular socks. Cheers Billy
Do they not sweat your feet
NO not at all. Generally only wearing them when its cold weather so feet warm without being sweaty. Thanks for watching. Cheers. Billy
but using this for work like heavy machinery washing job, maybe could not withstand for how many months.
The real test is to show if they still do the work after months, almost any waterproof socks will do the job on a bucket and on day 1...

@@BillysBikeAdventuresthey still good billy?
@Canna_Cody ah yes mate. Only wear them through winters and this one about to start in the UK will be their fourth season and still great. 🙌
Covers up number plate
Has it on the wall anyway...
Not the same one 😂 but well spotted
Video starts at 4:53
I hope found it useful from that point on 🙌👍😆
Like the look of them
They are very comfortable and of course waterproof. Thanks for watching. Cheers Billy

True but wearing them in Iceland for 6 days off road riding through dozens of water crossings is. I should have mentioned that 👍
We want this item. How to get it
