Hello fellow Sacramentans! Love your videos. I am a new gardener and learning a lot from this channel.
Welcome! Glad we are of help!
Great Video! Thank you for putting this together! I only made a couple of adjustments, 1. I Made the front legs 40 inches, so I could put a latch on the front panels. (I don't want to need a drill to open it each time) 2. I sandwiched the chicken wire between the legs and the slats, so they weren't being held by just staples. and 3. I made the bottom slat on the front go all the way across, instead of making it two separate 3 foot boards. Cedar lumber was expensive, too! I think I paid closer to $250 to make mine!
Thanks for the comment Scott! All great adjustments to the design. A latch would’ve been a great idea for us and might get added one day soon. We built this before the huge spike in lumber costs so I am sure the total price has gone up. I’m glad you made one though! Tag us on Instagram if you have a picture of your completed bin! Happy composting
Thanks mate I am biulding 3 of this design 👍 cheers mate you have a beautiful day . Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful! Best of luck on your build!
Nice simple functional design! I plan on mimicking this with scrap rough cut fencing wood. TY!
Thanks! I’ve made a similar one out of pallets in the past. Use what you’ve got! That’s my motto
great video thank you so much, starting mine this afternoon
Awesome good luck! We would love to see how it turns out!
Nice neat design
Couldn't you use old pallets you had laying around for the three in the middle? Also is there a bottom or do you just leave that open? And do you cover it? Great video thank you!
Old pallets would work great! We left the bottom open to the dirt and we do not cover ours. Thanks for watching!
Wow nice !
Comes out to $200+ here .
We filmed this pre covid inflation! I’m sure it’s more expensive now
