Re watching this about the going south situation. The players are totally out of line. They say they are joking but this is classic gaslighting. They “jokingly” accuse him. He defends himself. They all say they’re joking but the accusation was 100% legit. Big up Freddy deeb
Freddy was 100% in the right here to stop the game and call for the floor man. “Joking” about going south was a pure question of Freddy Deebs integrity and you HAVE to remember: integrity is all you have in poker, especially in big cash games. On a nationally televised stage, back in the early 2000s (way before social media - and being able to defend yourself on Twitter/Instagram) the televised accusation of going south and letting the other players get away with it could have seriously jeopardized Freddy’s poker career.

Watching these again, I've noticed Todd doesn't really change expressions or mannerisms much at all. Even during the dust-up with Deeb, never changed. Gives nothing away.

If you take away personalities, acting and TV fluff and focus on cards, this guys were playing a very funny, aggressive, unpredictable, creative play. Some of those plays you still find in modern poker.
He plays the lower buy in games 2/5, 5/10 and 10/20 in the Houston area. Like Matusow, Greenstein and many others he never got out when he was far ahead and lost a ton of money to the newer generation. All of them had, at one point (2008-2010), millions in cash and assets and instead of cashing out and moving on with their lives tried to keep up with the solver based players. Greensteins grinding the lower stakes in L.A. and Mutusow doing the same in Las Vegas but occasionally you'll see the mouth on a poker stream trying to play the same way he always has.
Freddy Deeb goes irate because they questioned his integrity and Freddy is known to be one of the scammers in the UB scandal. Freddy has zero integrity when there aren't cameras filming him but when that red light goes on he puts on a show.
Not cool for Jonny Chan to accuse Freddie Deeb of going South. On a separate matter at the ripe old age of 60 something finally clicked - I used to be quite a strong chess player. In chess you are constantly calculating all the variations that are in front of you but in poker as the legend that is Doyle Brunson said at minute 35 it’s the absolute opposite lol - it’s all about going backwards and recalling what has gone before: the preflop, flop, turn and river action - only took me about 10 years to work that out and explains why I’m completely hopeless at poker😀
So.... why was Stupak even in this game? 😂 I guess his strategy worked so far, he's won 100% of the hands he did play 😂. Kinda stupid going all-in and scaring everyone off the pot when he could have milked the AA. Though I guess its better than someone hitting their draw. A pair of aces is the same as a pair of 2s if someone has 3 of a kind or better. Worthless.

WSOP needs to do an WSOP main event winners EVENT paying half of the entry of each player. The player pays 100k and WSOP pays for the other 100k. Winner takes it all, no 2nd place price
You have the right to quit if you are happy with your winnings-or have had enough with losses- but not to put away part of the money. Even so, if you quit too quickly and too often as soon as you win, probably no one will ever want to play against you again.
