- Volume 1 of a 3-volume video series from the 'Dean' of voices. Highlights include: "Money Burns a Hole in My Pocket" (with daughter Deana [she doesn't sing with him; she's just in this]), "You'll Never Get Away" (duet with Jerry Lewis), "Good Old Songs Medley" (trio with Bing Crosby & Frank Sinatra), & "Sometimes I'm Happy" (with Jerry & the Norman Luboff Choir).
Dean will always be my Number One Male vocalist until the day I die. I just love him!!

That's Amore is Dean Martin's signature song, most original still in black & white & mono.
He hated it at first, wouldn't record it. The recording people had to take it off the movie to get it recorded.. He thought it was a stupid song, didn't like the lyrics. Once it was Oscar nominated, then he started to sing it more often.
I suspect that he disliked the way that Jerry Lewis caricaturized Italian people in that movie. Turned them into Disney cartoons basically in that one, the Caddy. The cliched Italian restaurant, and the poor Italians piled into an old jalopy. Rather unforgivable.
Jerry controlled the writing and Dean frequently did not like it. As a sensitive person who was bullied for being Italian as a kid, he would be painfully sensitive to the different ways that Italians were made fun of in the US.
Meanwhile, you would never catch Dean making any Jewish jokes at Jerry's expense, he had too much class for that. Jerry called him a 'street singer', 'pizza salesman'', and came within an inch of calling him an organ grinder in their last (forced) performance together. He also called Dean "fagiola".
Dean helps the day go right and through to evening such good company. Thank you Dean.x

Dean martin worked for my uncle Cosmo in steubenville when he died my wife wrote to Jeannie martin and she sent me his golf glove and name tag from the Rivera golf course my prize possessions

Are you sure that's Deana with Dean in the third song? I only ask because the movie poster on the counter at the beginning is of the film Living It Up which was made in 1954, and Deana was born in 1948 (I only happen to know this because she is just a few months older than me) which would make her about 5 or 6 years old here, and this girl looks older than that. Maybe it's one of her big sisters Gail or Claudia?
That girl is just some random kid they put into the skit. Trust me she isn't one of his kids lol
You can see the difference in his clothes from starting out to later in his career when he could afford tailored suits and shoes

I never found Bing Crosby attractive , I don’t know what women saw in him, ?? I read he was a cruel dad, his sons from his first family committed suicide, I didn’t read the book but read bits of it , not a nice person behind the curtains
