Oh my goodness, this one is amazing, I have a basket that is hard and braided, it is so cute and I use it to hold things, mine was never edible, but yours is divine, it would be so much fun to make and serve some sort of pasta or a salad, so many possibilities to think about. Yes while we are weaving the bread also expands. For easier, you may put the top side directly to the basket. Bake the handle separately.

Yes for the 'Mini Bread' please replace the oil with butter for a softer texture and use milk instead of water.
Yes you can use this dough to make pretzels too.
