I honestly don't know why this isn't a thing MUCH more often. Rob Swire's vocals are second only to Maynard James Keenan in my books, and combined with deadmau5 its absolutely EPIC
The vocals are really good in context. If you tried Maynard James Keenan's vocal is a house/EDM song like this, it simply wouldn't work. Meanwhile Rob Swire's vocals would not work at all in a Tool song. Its honestly really difficult to compare vocalists with such different styles. Even some percieved as shittier singers like J-Mann from Mushroomhead sounds so sick in context. Not dissing anyone here, I just think that each voice needs a specific context to work in.

I originally discovered deadmau5 when I was 17 in a college summer music class in 2010. We had to do a presentation on an artist that majorly changed our perception of music, and this douchey-looking guy that was probably 4 years older than me presented Joel and played Ghosts n Stuff at the end. God, he was a fuckin bro and a half lmao, but I will NEVER forget that moment when he pressed play and my mind was just fucking blown... I remember immediately going home and looking up all of Joel’s previous work and how happy/elevated it made me feel. I am actually so thankful for that random douche because he introduced me to one of my favorite artists of all time, along with one of the most iconic musicians/producers that I still religiously follow nearly a decade later. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert last year in Oakland, and it was one of the greatest moments of my life. Keep being you, Joel. Don’t ever fucking change!
