Even better is to be on a a comfortable train travelling the route.
According to my Apple maps map, (transport option)the two loops also overlap each other within the mountain at different altitudes of course. Just to the right and above of dead centre in the video image. Incredible engineering and tunnelling.

A beautiful Video from the times, when trains would still use the Gotthard Mountain Route instead of the Long base Tunnel... thanks for Sharing.
The locomotives are Re 420, the freight Train has a Re 420 and a Re 620, and the grey Train is an ETR 610, or better, 2 of them, from Italia. Coaches are EW IV, BPM 50 (the Green ones), BPM 61 and BPM 61 Panorama.

That’s impossible, That’s got to be a model railway.
I am from switzerland and i can tell, it is real. But since 2016, there is the worlds longest train tunnel, the Gotthard base Tunnel and since then, there is only one regional train (Stadler Flirt RABe 524) in both directions per hour, so the Mountain route is pretty much dead. This video was made before the Tunnel was finished.
