About self-destructing Moves, I believe in the Japanese versions of Pokemon, that the Move "Self-destruct" has in it's name, context of suicide bombing, which makes the Move even MORE makes no sense that you can get your Pokemon revived from Fainted status when they're literally suicide bombing themselves
Fainting and still being able to use HM moves is explained. Fainting means it can't battle anymore. Doesn't have the will to. However, it can still move around and help you out. It just doesn't have the strength to battle anymore. For catching fainted pokemon, the pokemon is supposed to choose whether or not it wants to go with you or not. If its knocked out, it can't make that decision
In that case, regular wild Pokémon interactions in the games should include elements from the Safari Zone, where you should be able to convince a Pokémon to come with you peacefully, with treats and things like that.
@@aniruddhasen8801 Not really. You still want to be able to battle and level up your own pokemon. A pokemon that appears in the tall grass is said to be curious and think of you as a potential partner. Whether you want to catch it or not is on you though
It's also explained in Legends Arceus that Pokémon can shrink out of sight at will, and that's what they're doing when the wild ones faint in battle...they're shrinking out of sight so they can run away...which is how they explain not being able to catch Pokémon AFTER they "faint".
That doesn’t make sense. U just contradicted yourself. Why would it work differently for wild Pokémon? If your Pokémon can still use hm moves cause they just can’t battle anymore then why can’t a wild Pokémon choose wether or not it goes with u? Cause it’s unconscious? Well then it should be the same for our Pokémon in our party.
The payout after battle is I think something between every trainer that is handled through the Pokédex or Trainer ID system automatically… getting your first Pokémon (@ 10 years old might be similar to getting your first personal bank account)
But even then, you'd still have a few questions (at least), like . . . • What happens when you don't have any money? • Who pays, then, and from where? • Is there, like, a Universal Trainer Fund that pays on your behalf, in those circumstances? • Do you then owe them? • What happens if you just keep losing every battle you get into? • Do they then revoke your Trainer title/license and privileges? • If Team have to pay too, then how do they still have enough money to run the organisation, especially if a 10-year-old can bring the entire thing down, with just a few tens of hours of training? • . . . _(You get the idea.)_
If you do a part 2 of stuff in Pokemon that don't make sense I have 2 suggestions: 1. Why can you only train your Pokemon up to level 100 not any further. 2. How come you need to have a good friendship with Eevee and it to be nighttime for Eevee to evolve into Umbreon?
@@InfiniteBits for the level 100 cap, as well as the elite four not having lv 100 pokemon: i assume that the system of overlord is in play. like, only the player has the talent to max out a pokemons level, due to being a prodigy or whatever. npcs have a much lower level cap, so they physically cant level them up further. as to what the level represents, is just a natural limit, like real life athletes, at some point, you just reach your peak, unless youre saitama. however, theres also an inverse of this, with npcs sometimes being able to do things you cant. like some trainers have evolved pokemon at a lower level than what should be possible, like theres a trainer with a lv 21 graveler, when geodude evolves at lv 25... or nidoqueen who cant breed in the daycare, but can breed in the wild, according to the pokedex.
For battling on the water, starting with Pokémon legends Arceus and pokemon scarlet and violet: any Pokémon that does not swim or float will be giving a raft or a floatation by the Pokeball. The flying Pokémon will be on the flying animation.
I wonder if maybe, it's not necessarily the trainers themselves that give money to the winner, but just that their bank somehow senses when they've lost and automatically transfers it to the winner. It's purely speculation, on my part, but it's the best explanation I can think of
as a matter of fact... the fact that even the crooks have to give you money from losing IS that deeply ingrained in the society of the Pokemon world. it's explained quite well in practice during Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as when you beat the Miss Fortunes, they'll all drop Nuggets, which as any Pokemon fan is aware, can be sold for quite a nice sum, and as we know, Pokemon battles weren't a huge thing during this time period, and any other Trainer battles in the game DON'T pay out, so we can assume that the practice started with the Miss Fortunes and their Nuggets.
The trainer money you get is probably digitally and on some kind of debit card. You need to connect your bank account to your oppenent, your pokeballs are connected to it and it can register you lost with fainted pokemon. Automatically transferring of a certain amount of money depending on your pokemon and opponents pokemon level.
That makes sense. If your Trainer Card, that's needed to be a trainer at all. Is like a debit/credit card, once you're registered as trainers the system just hops cash from loser to winner. Dunno how it knows your mons wearing an amulet coin or wte though
I can vouch for the ghastly using sucker punch considering how the move looks it kinda looks like it uses a shadow figment of itself to eggxecute the move (had to pun there 🤣)
I finally decided to pick up Pokémon violet, even after hearing about the performance issues, and they were worse than my low expectations. The open world is awesome though. Congrats on 50k!
Pokeballs are also confusing. In Pokémon Platinum, the professor hands you a PokeBall which has a button in the middle of it, which he asks you to press on using the touch screen, which raises a lot of questions. Most of the questions are stuff like: what if you're walking around in the grass and trip on a rock or something? Do all of your pokemon just release and get out of their pokeballs? Or if the button is hard to press and you need a lot of force to press it, which would solve the tripping issue, but then what would happen if you encounter a wild Pokemon which attacks you, and then the PokeBall you threw on the ground just doesn't click open? Do you just get mauled by the wild Pokemon or something? And what about trainer battles? What if you get challenged and you just can't get your main pokemon out of it's PokeBall?
@@KHloreExpert honestly that *would* make sense if not for the fact that every trainer in the pokemon universe throws their pokeballs on the ground for them to activate

They hope to see you again because they know you're gonna go back out into the wild to train. You know, as opposed to if they never saw you again which might mean you were killed by wild Pokémon as gets constantly mentioned in Legends Arceus.
"We know you're going to subject it to more fights, probably soon, so please continue utilizing our completely free, top of the line, worldwide healthcare system instead of leaving it to suffer or potentially worse attempting some kind of home remedy!" also if the anime is to be believed plenty of them are equipped to add "Also don't forget that if you're just passing through and still nearby at dusk you don't need to brave the woods again tonight if you don't want to since our Pokémon Center offers plenty of safe, clean, completely free lodging!"

My head canon for #9 is that the main character is essentially a child prodigy with insane Pokemon training abilities. Like, imagine you get 250 exp for defeating a Pokemon, but the average person would only get 1. What might take someone else years and decades of dedicated work to accomplish, you can do in weeks/months. Much the same way that some people are just incredible at piano. It might take you or me years to master the most difficult pieces, but some six year old can play them by ear after hearing them once. You clearly aren't the only one that is so talented at raising Pokemon, your rival usually matches your pace, and you occasionally find gym leaders or E4 members that are children as well, but the fact that people frequently remark on your bond with your Pokemon and how they quickly gain so much power has me believing you have some very above average abilities within that universe.
9:21... While you could say "oh well the pokemon isn't walking, you are, so your counter point is invalid" to that I can say "they are swaying on a ball as such they are being moved while you move so think of them like being on a boat when you move".... With that out of the way you can not tell me that never in your life have you been sick where if you remain motionless in one position you can feel okish but the second you start moving you feel queasy or in pain AF and need to stop moving or you will feel miserable. Think of poison like you just ate some bad food that is upsetting your stomach, when you are moving you feel nauseous and in pain but when you curl up in a ball and stop moving the pain and nausea subsides until you start moving again. So while all the others don't make sense, that poison one is one that can make sense depending on how you view the poison.
Most of these have explanations, if you actually pay attention to all of the content and not just the games. Some simple things that explain a lot of these: There are laws governing the Pokemon world, how battles work, etc, and clearly evil teams follow them too otherwise they would just have several Pokemon out attacking trainers all of the time instead of even having proper battles. There's a notable difference between normal actions and attacks. This is made most evident in the Pokemon Origins series, where Red's Charmander bites another Pokemon instead of using the attack Bite. The details of these differences aren't completely clear, but it's also why Pokemon like Rhyhorn didn't go extinct because of some rain. Some of the elements pointed out are specific to the games and are a matter of game limitations and such. They are not exactly as they seem, that's just the game's way of depicting how it actually is. And specifically for the last one, if you play any of the more recent games, that hasn't been a thing for a while. I want to say ever since gen 6, X and Y, your Pokemon have stopped taking damage from Poison in the overworld...
16 makes sense due to their ability to shrink which is how they fit inside Pokeballs, in Scarlet and Violet, you see how Titan Pokemon shrinks when you defeat them which stands to reason, Pokemon shrink when fainted so nothing, in theory should find them so they can recover and return to their normal size and carry on with their life and if they shrink to a very microscopic size, how would you be able to throw a Pokeball at a Pokemon you literally can't see?
Here's one for you, Groudon the CONTINENTAL POKÉMON weighs over 2000 pounds, meaning it takes 9 of them just to be the same weight as ONE African Elephant.
How come some Pokémon can evolve up to 2 times, and some can even Mega Evolve, yet there are some Pokémon that don’t evolve ever? Sure, some non-evolving Pokémon could eventually get an evolution, but what are the circumstances that make one Pokémon able to evolve 2 times (plus some with Mega Evolutions), and some that only evolve only 1 time, and others that remain unchanged?
The fence maze in the original Red/Blue/Yellow had signs talking about a fence worker and a game/challenge for some... think it may have been deleted content? Cause I read all the signs many years ago and got a small laugh thinking back on it.
I saw it in the show once, TMs are put into a little macbook-like device that educates the Pokémon in a move. I don't remember for sure which generation I saw it, but I know it was Ash teaching Pikachu, and I believe it was Iron Tail. So maybe gen 4? As for only knowing four moves at a time: I assume it's a legal thing. The Pokémon may not "forget" per se (even though those are the words chosen); just maybe it's a league rule that you can only use 4 different moves at a time, and have to register what moves you're using? I imagine Pokémon battling would be a lot more chaotic and dangerous if Pokémon could pull any move they'd ever learned- especially Pokémon with good move spreads, like Normal types.
2 beefs I have with this video: One: why, WHY do people keep calling the protagonist 10 years old when they're CLEARLY teenagers. Legends Arceus even flat out says you're 15!! Two: those weird glitches in Scarlet/Violet are the extreme rare ones, not the norm. In fact, in my almost 300 hours in Violet, I never encountered any glitches. Those huge glitches must response to modded Switches or something.
Coin amulet part: I can only imagine jolteon stand up grab the amulet and say. Jolteon: my master gave me this so you have to pay master twice as much for losing
There are many different things in video games that are the way they are because of certain mechanics and to keep players from soft locking themselves or otherwise keeping them from not being able to continue to play the game. The glitches don't count for a valid reason why certain things work the way they do. As for the way that certain things like how certain Pokemon have certain pokepowers that don't make sense or they don't have one that makes sense is mostly dealing with a mechanics problem. Technically all Pokemon can learn all moves and can have all pokepowers at the same time it's simply an issue of game mechanics. As for the Pokemon fitting into a space that doesn't make sense there are one of three explanations either the building is just that big, or the Pokemon involved are not as large as the pokedex entries say, or the third option is that the trainers actually use a stadium that is never shown. As for the elite four thing according to the lore most Gym leader(s) has beaten the elite four or whatever the equivalent is for the region they are simply placed in the position that they have either because they earn it or because they were chosen. The next thing is that the win prize monetary system is something that is enforced by the authorities and the prizes are negotiable prior to and after the battle according to the lore however in case where the participants have items or effects moves ect that increases the prizes for any reason that is added by the authorities on a case by case basis and each trainer pays a fee for each combat they participate in and all sorts of things but in total but something else is that the majority of basic goods and services are free in the Pokemon universe(s).
This may sound stupid but I think that TMs are literal tiny screens designed to look like a CD and the Pokemon watch a very vague description of the move that is very easily forgettable. Also Alakazam might just try and even out the playing field by pretending to forget the moves. Just a thought
You probably should've used a better reference for 11 than the Sw/Sh one you used because it's very obviously at about neck height compared to the player meaning you're not going to be able to just take one leg and put it above the ledge unless your legs were the majority of your body, like just legs and a head
What bugs me the most is that Pokemon only have 4 maximum moves, like why can't you just pick 4 moves for your moveset from all the learnt moves. Just why can't you switch between them?
Things that doesn't make sense: TH-camrs who still use an archaic system of measurement that has been outdated for several hundreds of years, instead of just using metric, like most of the modern world does. Like, you're Canadian, you are from a metric country, why aren't you using metric? These video games you cover has been developed in metric. Pokémon is metric, Mario is metric. Why don't you use it?
The reason why Gastly can learn Sucker Punch is because the move's Japanese name is Surprise Attack.
That's also why Diglett can learn sucker punch
*PUNCH* Ow!¡! wHaT tHe WhAt?¡?
Thanks for a fun fact man!
18 and 19 is why I like Violet, they _technically_ know all learned Moves, but can only prepare 4 at a time, like 5th edition Wizards and their Spells.

I GOT ONE HOW DOES A POKEMON FIT INTO A TINY BALL
awesome vid! Still waiting on those Mario sports rankings though lol!
Thanks man!
Poison logics in game somewhat follows irl as irl when you move it spreads quicker compare to not moving
2:36 To anwser this question: PLOT ARMOR
Great content as always
I always thought Tms would be put in like a DVD player and shown to the Pokémon
Yeah that’s what that is. Including when they were floppy disks.
@@stevenbahena5956 thanks
Love to see more content in this series, keep up the good content my guy!
Also, do you have a discord server by any chance?
Pokeballs are actually small and enlarge to be throw. If they are made of apricots how do they change size?
Here's one for you, Groudon the CONTINENTAL POKÉMON weighs over 2000 pounds, meaning it takes 9 of them just to be the same weight as ONE African Elephant.
When the NPC's pokemon has frisk and sees your amulet coin:
5:08 its a turboflex backpack
How come some Pokémon can evolve up to 2 times, and some can even Mega Evolve, yet there are some Pokémon that don’t evolve ever? Sure, some non-evolving Pokémon could eventually get an evolution, but what are the circumstances that make one Pokémon able to evolve 2 times (plus some with Mega Evolutions), and some that only evolve only 1 time, and others that remain unchanged?
some animal species irl evolved multiple times to reach the appearance they are today some barely changed appearance. same concept
4:42 Maybe they have cold 3AM water, but it definitely doesn't make any sense?
Wooper uses its tail for punching moves
Shroomish uses its flaps
Gastly’s gas can form the shape of a fist
What is the game that is used on 18?
6:12 |
On 21 you probably just go to a TV and put the cd in so your pokèmon can watch and learn how to do it.
The fence maze in the original Red/Blue/Yellow had signs talking about a fence worker and a game/challenge for some... think it may have been deleted content? Cause I read all the signs many years ago and got a small laugh thinking back on it.
Someone needs to make a compilation video explaining this out of context.
29 thank you! That's how I felt while playing SP
chandelure is really light- and magneton can use magnetic fields to fly
The reason why you can't catch a fainted Pokemon it's because the PokeBall sees the fainted Pokemon as a inanimate object
he did his best to not mention how a pokemon like snorlax can fit in a small pokeball
“Just have a fire type burn the thing.”
Pretty sure that’s Arson
In the anime, they often do catch fainted Pokémon… not sure why the game mechanic is so different
5:40 well Ash's Snorlax actually know 5 moves so that one may not be the best example of dumb pokemon, or pokemon that just dont care..
00:19 and in centimeter?
2 beefs I have with this video:
One: why, WHY do people keep calling the protagonist 10 years old when they're CLEARLY teenagers.
Definitely some kind of mind control going on there!
Finally a Pokémon video
The pokemon shrink down when they faint... Have you forgotten the intro to legends arceus?!?!
If you attack a floating pokemon that doesn't have levitate with a ground type move it doesn't count.
The "king" of England
me:🥲
TMs work like White Snake's stand disks.
The Last One makes sence because if you move the poison spreads in your body
Nice video. I'm more into the anime. Never played a lot of the games
Thanks bro
@@InfiniteBits You're welcome
Now you don't need any Pokemon to Fly.
This may sound stupid but I think that TMs are literal tiny screens designed to look like a CD and the Pokemon watch a very vague description of the move that is very easily forgettable. Also Alakazam might just try and even out the playing field by pretending to forget the moves. Just a thought
I don’t think I needed a video to know that Pokémon makes no sense
Btw I am not trying to hate on him
I’m sure you didn’t think all of the 30 things he mentioned
There's too many things that don't make sense
If Pokemon, Faint they actually didn't Died LOL
Also just assumed ghastly transforms into a ghost fist lol
What abnormal normal-type pokemon? This is why we need more new pokemon types.
Nothing makes sense to me in Pokemon LOL
yup
Water heals more than a potion because it comes from mount silver. It writes it in the Japanese version
I'll never get used to "the king of England"
In a world over ran by cute and terrifying monsters and a kid that stays 10 for 30 years yes only 30 things dont add up
Gen 3, we have a dad. Norman, is the gym leader, in Hoenn. Not just emerald. Jeez.
You probably should've used a better reference for 11 than the Sw/Sh one you used because it's very obviously at about neck height compared to the player meaning you're not going to be able to just take one leg and put it above the ledge unless your legs were the majority of your body, like just legs and a head
Minecraft Steve: -_-
Sucker Punch isn't a punching move according to Bulbapedia. It's neither powered up by Iron Fist, so it isn't a punch move
don't get the english translations, it's a jap game and the move in jap is surprise attack
Another one: Why is a battle only legally over when a Pokemon gets knocked unconscious, but not when it's eased to sleep?
HECK
What bugs me the most is that Pokemon only have 4 maximum moves, like why can't you just pick 4 moves for your moveset from all the learnt moves. Just why can't you switch between them?
Bro I love that accent
For the money one, they drop the money and u pick it up lorewise but i don’t understand the amulet coin
6:16 that is funy🤯😄
Things that doesn't make sense:
TH-camrs who still use an archaic system of measurement that has been outdated for several hundreds of years, instead of just using metric, like most of the modern world does.
Like, you're Canadian, you are from a metric country, why aren't you using metric? These video games you cover has been developed in metric. Pokémon is metric, Mario is metric. Why don't you use it?
