"Where did it hurt Richie?"
"My knee"
"Yeah..."
lol
proceeds to crank his knee even more lol
he said "if i want to make this totally pimp" lost my shit
haha same
Hahaha The way he said it
🤣
I honestly can’t believe I watched this when I started Jiu jitsu 8 years ago and it’s still getting recommended. It’s also really funny how advanced the leg lock game has become since this video came out. Stephan I really appreciate all you’ve done for Jiu jitsu over the years. Thanks!
The 3 Fanciest Leglocks are:
1. Figure 4 Leglock with Achilles Lock/Straight Ankle Lock
2. Leg Lace also known as Ankle Lace
3. Toe Hold Ankle Lock
Apparently knee lace lol
Thank you.
leg lock 2 is volk han's cross heel hold
Your calm style of instruction is fantastic. Just goes to show you don't have to be arrogant when you're as good as you are. I'm no fighter but I appreciate the techniques and mastery of your own body and that of your opponents.
These leg locks are super badass!
I was kind of surprised as that first leg-lock actually works! I practice Jujutsu and during sparring/randori and I managed to apply the lock a number of times. I've also used it as an addendum to a number of techniques. I really like it!!!
"And if I want to make this totally pimp..."
I want to, but IBJJF won't let me :(
5 years training. i've been having a lot of success with the leg-over straight ankle lock and the reverse mount leg lock. thanks!
The best teacher on youtube
Hello Stefan, I see your training on TH-cam and always enjoy clarity of your explanation and techniques clean and clear, keep so thanks
I was actually in a position to move to reverse mount a while ago just before the round ended and I was really confused about what I could have done. Now I know, that leg weave is awesome. Leg lock weeks are my favourite (my coach tends to pick a technique and work from the basics to entries and counters over the course of a week to let it sink in).
Thank you for the technical simplicity brother. This is easy to follow & you get straight to the point. Thank you
the first move especially is EXCELLENT and I will definitely be taking that one to the mats. Thank you!
Excellent instruction, easy to understand, easy to follow. Great job.
the russian accent was actually pretty good
It's more of what Americans think a Russian accent sounds like. It's not far off, but the sounds are somewhat different.
watch a lot of Homeland TV series....LOL!!!
He is mimicing FPS RUSSIA'S Accent and Entry style, and uses the same muaic and Logo design
As was the jujitsu!
This guy is an absolutely amazing coach, thanks for the free education!
Great work Stephan
Great stuff - love the first one!
Really like the way you describe the technique.
Excellent finishes!
I like how clear you explain stuff.
Great job Stephan!
Simply wonderful demonstration and very applicable leg locks.
I like the way you teach Stephan.
very solid thanks for making the video stephan, i love them all, the last would be my least favorite though just from my toe hold experience it seems often a fighting situation depending on how thick and strong one guys wrists are compared to the other guys ankles especially on that angle toe hold. opposite direction that does apply
That leg weave is slick as hell, Ive never seen that before
Awesome stuff. Well explained and easy to understand. Kudos and thanks.
Thank you so much for this TH-cam site. You have given a ground dummy like myself some stuff to train.
Thanks again
This tips are really useful when it comes to attacks or takedowns
Awesome video. Thanks for posting!
Really good stuff, Sir. I'm a big fan of your videos.
These are some amazing leg locks! Thanks professor
Best JJ classes on YT
This really helped me. Thanks! The first one was my fav.
Damn that lock was really in there towards the end. OUCH....great video guys!!
Dude, your videos are awesome! Thanks.
first leg lock is imo the best one because their isn't a lot of steps to it and you can apply it pretty fast.
I thought I knew some grappling, emphasis on the word thought. But you have some killer moves. Thanks for sharing.
great stuff. i saw some variations i can add to my game, much appreciated
Great stuff and very well taught.
Gonna throw this in my list of locks to learn!!
They look like bits of paster stuck together at the bottom of the pot. Knew I should gave stirred it better. Good video. Clear and to the point.
Part of the last leg lock is missing. I really like that second set up though for the knee bar variation. Worked pretty well for me.
this guy is great.
Thank you for teaching us to learn about leg locks.
Stephan If you ever come to Mexico I would totally go to your classes..
I really like that second one, so versatile
easy simple effective tips. great one.
Mr. Clean you rock
thank you for the tip!
i m gonna practice today!
I love all 3! Nice work :-)
All those Leg Locks are staples of Volk Han, great video also!!
Love this! Looks a lot like Gokor Chivichyan and Gene Lebell’s style.
Thank you by watching this video I submitted an opponent in mma when we were going for simultaneous heel hooks. I did a variation of the first one. He thought it was a joke until the pain kicked in.
Thank you
love the foot locks , Appreciate the upload
This is great stuff!
Honestly love this guy
Wow definitely going to have to practice these
Thanks.. I did all three of these today.
Will try these thanks.
Nice! Similar to trankada. Thank you for sharing.
Just been a big fan of your work ♥️♥️♥️♥️
these moves are super cool
4:48 LOL when Ritchie catches it
Soooo. I tried two if the submission. And wow! They actually work. Impressed.
Great video!
Thank you very much!
Excellent video about leglock, thank you
at 3:18 I typically throw the leg under my arm between my legs and sit down with his leg set up in a calf slicer. Then squeeze his leg to cause separating effects. Mine is a little harder to get but it's very difficult to scramble out of.
Those were some cool moves. That deep figure four with the ankle locked up is gonna mess someone up!
The first and second ones are awsome
great video as usual. thanks
just tried the first one on my sister and now she is in the hospital
MC Norris lmao..
Is she better now? Lol
I tried on my boxing trainer hahahah
lol >.
that was a life saver!!!! thank you...
I used one of those leg locks the other day. My opponent didn’t tap, but after I pulled a little harder. Lo and behold, soon as it hurt, he tapped. Thanks for the videos!
Nice ones love the video very descriptive thanks
Got a love that Figure Four!
great video!
Sir you have awesome technic
Really like his way of explaining :-)
Nice video! I've got a question about using the leglocks in BJJ;
You said they work well in a gi as well, but I'm guessing that just the first one would be safe for competition if the person doing it has anything lower than a brown belt (given that toe holds and knee bars are forbidden for white/blue/purple belts). Am I right in assuming so?
Keep up the good work Stephan! =)
Some wicked moves.
Wow man, those were so creative.
The first move is superb. In my mma club litteraly almost everyone i roll with gets tapped out with it. God i love that leg lock
AmazedBy Kev I've done that move in a street fight once and ended up breaking the guys ankle. These moves are great in any scenario.
AmazedBy Kev u
Evan Faraday yeah but its different in a street fight cuz there you just gotta brake his ankle if you dont he is just going to continue fighting that why i like this leg lock its simple you can get i position fast
to turn the 2nd one into a calf slicer you have to plant forearm on the opponent's top instep and twist the legs (pulling on the bottom leg and pushing the top one). I like the knee bar variation. I'll try just pulling through on the bottom leg and see how it goes.
absolutely massive like for the intro :D
The 1st one was total Ric Flair
You're so right XD
Not quite, but similar.
actually it was breat heart and its close his right leg needs to be over his ankle and his left leg in the key hole and then you press up. the figure four is a knee bar not an ankle bar
Blazedrow Bret Hart was sharpshooter
That second one is brutal! Ive been hitting them alot from half guard top, but theres something really strange about them becuase sometimes there's absolutely no pain on the opposition
Nice videos you have, make me want to start jiu jitsu, but i am a student now and cant aford it so i have to wait to the summer.
great video sir thank you
is that the MMA version of the WWE Figure 4 lock. awsome, Nice
lmfao
hahahaha wwe that fake shite
More like the old Buddy Rogers NWA version, which broke a couple of legs when he got it too tight.
The figure 4 lock actually does hurt. In wwe they dont lock their leg completely so their doesnt feel much pressure. But if you do it for real and put pressure on the knee and calve its hurts like hell
You meant to say the Pro-Wrestling Figure Four Leglock? WWE is a Wrestling promotion which they are many out there. About the Figure Four, it is an actual legitimate leglock but the way pro-wrestlers do it they do not put to much pressure but if you put enough pressure you can pop a knee out.
thanks for your videos
excellent video
That was a good one!
Great technique.
I need this for my grappling competition
Hey stephen thanks for the video. I am a huge fan of leg locks. Do you think that these three would work in mms? They seem like something someone who only trains a bit off bjj would have no idea how to defend.
most of the time I love your videos in this case I didn't because the leg lock didn't have good transitions to the next leg lock if it fails, but they were good secure leg locks if u get it off n I
I guess I can google this question. Does anyone know how high Stephan Kestings IQ is? I have been martial arts for a long time and I don't think I have seen someone this dedicated to BJJ, or any martial art for that matter, who comes across so dang smart from the get go. I have met plenty of smart people, Stephan reminds me of someone that should be figuring out time travel. The Onzuka brothers are REALLY smart, I just couldnt tell right off the bat.
He's definitely smart. Ryan Hall is another BJJ super genius.
This is very good stuff
Very nice stuff
