I came here to leave my own little story. I'm a 22 year old young woman and I didn't have any dreams when I was in high school. In my country, economic, political and various problems have been going on here for a while. When I was in high school, I wanted to be an artist, but my family told me not to do it because art didn't see the value it deserved. In this way, I lost all my desire and enthusiasm for the future. I felt so empty back then, and it was terrible. For the first time in my life a song made me cry and it was BTS- So Far Away. Suga wrote that song, and despite everyone around me he said, "it's okay not to have a dream." He was the first to say and he was the first person to make me feel that I was not alone. That's why this group is so special to me. They always manage to touch someone's heart with their song lyrics or their conversations on live broadcasts and their advice. I have learned a lot from these guys.
RM is a man who always reads and improves himself, even on holidays, and whose fun is to ride a bike and visit museums. Thanks to him, I learned that working hard doesn't need to be flashy and it's natural to have a different understanding of entertainment from the people around me. Even though Jin is the eldest of the group, he is someone who always shares his most candid and funny moments with them instead of always being squeamish around the younger ones and cameras. Thanks to him, I learned not to care about how I look from the outside and to show my sincerity. Thanks to Suga, I learned that I have to come out of my difficulties only by my own effort and that I am never alone. J-Hope is always very smiling and energetic to everyone, he is so friendly and shines no matter what... Thanks to him, I learned how nice it is to be smiling to the people around me. Jimin tries very hard to do the best at what he does and is a perfectionist, and this aspect made me ambitious in what I do... Because V was different from everyone else, he was often leashed by people and seen as a weirdo. He, on the other hand, learned to ignore the people who hurt him and became a "high standard" with his differences. Thanks to him, I saw how to make peace with myself and how much I can shine even with disadvantages or things that seem different. Last but not least, Jungkook is always very protective of the members who help him, raise him. Thanks to him, I have seen concretely the value of being loyal. They take very good care of each other and always help each other unconditionally. Nicest persons alive
These may sound like simple things to some people, but for a teenager who has no dreams and doesn't feel much, they were just as important as starting over. I laughed with their variety shows when I was depressed, and I got strength from their words when I was stressed. I guess I will never be able to go to their concert but I feel really grateful that they were able to help me like this even from such a distance. They're really hard workers and because they're in front of the camera a lot, we can see their normal lifestyles, their way of speaking very clearly. They are not like anyone else. Humble people who are still happy when they get a discount or receive money from each other as birthday presents even though they have millions... They don't have any scandals... I've never seen any celebrities like them in this horrible industry. They're just one of us and they're not afraid to show it. I'm an adult now, but I'm still learning from them and trying to be a good and passionate person like them. Thank you for reading this long post and sorry for my baby english, you are loved by someone from miles away.

We actually do not know much about their personal lives besides who has siblings and I think they prefer to keep it that way. We know a lot about them, but we don't know everything, and I think they found the perfect balance for it because I'll say 80-90% pf the fandom don't even care about knowing about their private lives. Of course there's the small percentage of deranged ones that are crazy, but it's not the majority, it's just that our fandom is pretty big in general, so even the minority is big as well.

They know how harsh the society is, especially to them so they don’t want their family to experience the same thing.

So I think the way that BTS was brought up together is an extremely unique social experiment. The older members looked after the younger ones. Packing them lunch every day, dropping them off at school, cooking for them. Jungkook was only 14 in Korean age when he joined. Jin - the oldest - took care of Jungkook so carefully and kindly. The members developed high emotional intelligence. And there is an absence of toxic masculinity in their team. Their story is phenomenal. I work with a Korean producer who has worked with BTS, and he is very cynical about celebrities. But he says that BTS are so genuine and so pure. Always helping staff behind the scenes. He also says they are the hardest working group in the industry.

    • @MystiqueRisingSun
      @MystiqueRisingSun 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

The only thing truly unique to them was they were allowed SOME freedom. Writing, producing, etc.
With the larger companies, those "dorms" they speak of? The company would basically BUY a block of apartments. Trainees would be randomly placed in the room with 2-10 others (depending on how big each apartment unit was)...and as long as they kept doing what they were asked, they could stay in those "dorms". Once it was decided that "this" person and "that" person would be put into the same group, that group got a room while the trainees often got shuffled around. Big Hit, being on the verge of bankruptcy, more than once!, was too "poor" of a company to afford a whole apartment complex, so they literally just rented that single unit for BTS.
Boarding schools, college...heck, even siblings...put ANY two people in a room together and it's going to end one of two ways. 1 - They discover they're too different and end up hating each other. 2 - They end up really talking, discovering what they have in common, and eventually become life-long friends. For BTS, it just happened to be the latter rather than the former...which is only made more amazing by the fact that there were SEVEN of them.
In many cases, there are times where the hyungs do pick on the maknae's, order them to do stuff, etc. An older trainee can make a younger's time as a trainee a living hell. Even once in a group, a young member gets picked on (and sometimes even flat out bullied) enough by older members, they're going to quit. As BTS said, Jin was never like that. He didn't GET respect solely because he was the oldest, he EARNED the respect of the others simply because of who he was and how he treated them...and part of that was him making their lunches, taking them to/from school, etc. It boils down to the fact that Jin was a hyung who CARED, instead of trying to enforce his dominance over the others.
The absence of toxic masculinity? While they weren't TOO sure of each other upon first meeting (since they were 7 males from 5 different cities), they did eventually talk - in 2's, in 3's, as a whole group - and figured out how to get on the same page, what each of them wanted "from" BTS, why is was important to each of them that the group succeeded, etc. Once they reached that decision, they got even closer, by implementing the common Korean tradition of skinship. To this day, there is no "I'm better than you" because of that. They truly care. They visit each other on set if one of them is doing a solo video...Jimin was at Lollapolooza with Hobi as well as joining Yoongi at his first couple shows in the U.S. - then Jimin, Tae, AND Kook all went to Yoongi's Seoul concert together. Namjoon recently did a Live and was singing Jungkook's new song to help promote it even more. They work SO well as a group, I think - at this point - it's just natural that they also support each other completely when it comes to their solo works.

LOL Get an ARMY talking about our favorite "Boys" and we'll never shut up. 😁 Probably should also note that "skinship" is a term used when friends are close. It's highly encouraged - among same, as well as opposite gendered - friends. It's not uncommon to see boys holding hands with their friends, girls laying on top of each other, either/both genders resting their heads on the others' lap, etc. Typically it stops after high school (when that "bond" is fully formed), BTS still continue it to this day. *ARMY is an acronym for Adorable Representative MC for Youth.* ARMY are meant to so stand with BTS in support of the underrepresented values that they talk about in their lyrics.
J-Hope of BTS said in an interview - "It has a profound meaning...‘Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents,"
*The meaning of BTS has since changed to include* that it symbolizes a youth who go against the grain to move forward to achieve growth.
BTS have won over 900 awards now, and RM has over 200 KOMCA Credits. All of them are getting more credits because of their work on their solo projects and officially releasing older unofficial songs.
By the way, your idea about music groups disbanding is a Western experience or idea, not a KPOP experience or IDEA. When groups in South Korea disband, it's done formally, and they have so many groups, that many of them don't even make it past 100 days. Contracts can last anywhere from 5 to 7 years, and are often renewed when the groups have established themselves and are successful.. Also, *the dates in each members description are their Birth Dates.*

Unfortunately, there are always crazy people out there and with how huge the fandom is, there are always going to be bad apples. Plus stalkers and such are actually not always necessarily fans exactly. Korean has a distinction. They have a separate name for "fans" who don't respect the artists' privacy and take it too far: sasaengs. I think that mindset is actually important, because very often, you see artists focus primarily on these people, because they are extremes. The fact that in Korea, they distinguish a fan and a sasaeng I think helps artists like BTS see their fans as real people and not some obsessed fanatics. When BTS talk about their fans, they never talk about stalkers, because I think for them, it's a separate thing. Even in interviews where they were specifically asked about crazy fan behavior, they talked about positive behavior.
Also, in general, ARMY has a policy that discourages stalking or obsessed behavior. If you want to hear more about this, I highly recommend a video called: "How the BTS ARMY Changed Fandom Culture" by boracity magazine. I think it might explain how ARMY view these things a little better than I can.

It's such a trip for me seeing this side of the Fandom. This isn't like a normal western viewpoint and I'm so damn excited to dive in more and learn how the sausage is made 😅
Also THANK YOU! I was just thinking that I need a video that dives into the ARMY more. I fucking love the ARMY so far and I need to know more about the active duty to this day of the working hive mind. This is so much fun for me. So much energy and passion in this world. Fuckin love you guys 💜

    • @msmichellewinchester
      @msmichellewinchester 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

@@MasterGo89 I think aside from diving into actual ARMY, once you see more of BTS, it might in itself clear things out a little more. The energy and passion and excitement is something that you can see in them as well and we mirror that. BTS see us as equals, partners in crime, if you will. They set an example for us. I'm 32 years old. I'm two years older than the eldest member and I still feel like I'm learning from them... about kindness, about how showing your feelings is ok, about how it's fine to be a little crazy sometimes. Suga himself used to be in a fandom for a group called Epik High and you can see from how he talks to us and how he treats us that he understands the fan experience on a deeper level. J-hope has recently worked with J. Cole, an artist who has been one of his biggest idols, and when he met him, he literally acted like what many would refer to as a "fangirl". So I think they are also doing a great job of normalizing the excitement and honest passion that comes with being a fan of something, because I think in the past, this behavior was sort of grouped together with the "crazy obsessed fangirl" stereotype. This is not in the video, those are just some of my thoughts 😂
The positive kind of "crazy" is definitely a lot of what I see around me as an ARMY. BTS are goofballs. So are ARMYs. We feed off of each other 😆. I have been in a few fandoms before and I really mean it when I say that BTS are the reason why we are like this. I have NEVER have an artist treat their fans with the level of familiarity they treat us with. Jungkook went on a livestream yesterday and literally fell asleep in the middle of it (that wasn't the first time either), because he just felt like talking to the fans while trying to fall asleep 😄. It is the parasocial relationship you were talking about, but I feel like it goes both ways and that's what's creating the positive turn on this. Parasocial relationships are often depicted in a negative light and there definitely is a danger there. But they do have a positive side and I think that that's what we're experiencing.

If you didn't know back when bts debuted, other idols weren't on TH-cam making behind the scenes or funny videos and didnt have their own shows, idols would go on tv variety shows to show a little of their personalities & promote their albums. Smaller groups would either not get invited or if they were BTS theyd get mistreated and degraded on these shows while groups from the big3 companies were treated like royality .it just was not fair for bts at all the whole industry was against them & their bankrupt company didnt have funds to promote them thats why bts started doing logs on TH-cam and behind the scenes and fun videos and their own shows...nowadays almost every kpop group has followed in bts's footsteps 👣 and now do TH-cam just like them, bts slowly changed and shaped the industry into what it is today , even winning major end of the year awards making history being the first idols from a small company to beat out the big3 companies opening up opportunities for other small company groups (u will understand this more if u watch Why bts is Treated UNFAIR in korea)

700 awards were in 2022 they are close to 1000 now I guess. When you get to know them better you will understand why they call themselves brothers. They lived together for almost 8 years and just recently just got their own places. ARMY is the most spoiled fandom in the world, BTS is in touch with us, and Jungkook our well-loved youngest, gives us live online concerts once in a while that would last until daybreak. Free songs for ARMY, songs about ARMY we have them. As we say stan an artist that stans you harder. There might be some toxic fans here and there, and it has become the older ARMY's job to educate and call them out of our boundaries and respect for Artist privacy. When Jin entered the military the requested the fandom to NOT come on his enlistment day so that the place doesn't get overcrowded and the media was really surprised that almost no ARMY came, Someone in the crowd said because they artist request them not to come so they followed.

As a happily married American fan, I have definitely been surprised by the whole dating thing for idols. I don’t understand the idea of not wanting them to have any and all personal relationships that add to their lives, and most adults have relationships. Of course, we are socialized differently to these things by our media in America where the artists share less in a lot of ways but so much more gets shared about them in other ways, like basically always knowing the second they go on a first date (also strange in the other direction). Anyway, I’m a BTS fan for their music, insane performances, and beautiful personalities and bond together. It’s just FUN! I hope they have rich, full private lives in whatever ways that fit them and their goals and are always surrounded by supportive people personally and professionally, and that they get to protect their privacy in the areas they wish. Of course, whenever anyone has millions of fans, there are always going to be people with issues and poor boundaries. Thanks for your reaction! It’s such a great video she put together.

This is an excellent guide into the members and 'The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!) is an excellent guide about the history of the group and their music.
Also if you want to know their story in real time from debut and how and what the Kpop or Korean music scene and culture is about I would recommend a docuseries called 'The Rise Of Bangtan.' It has 21 chapters (each roughly 30 minutes long) and also includes separate videos for 'Deleted Scenes' starting from chapter 1 (these are the things that were cut for time or didn't fit the narrative of the chapter) and 'Bonus Content' starting from chapter 3 (these are the goofy moments taken from the same time period to show their 'crackhead' nature and help you laugh because later on the chapters get deep and you need something to make you feel better after).

Jungkook (the youngest) was just 13-14 when he moved to Seoul/joined as a trainee, and 15 when they debuted in June 2013 (he would turn 16 later that year). They use "Korean age" there - so if they say they were 15, we should subtract one year (if not two, in some cases!) They count you as already a year old upon birth, and then add another year as a token at the start of every new year (as in new year's day), regardless of what month your actual birthday is. Confusing, but it's a cultural thing (though there's been talk of changing those conventions and only going by "international age" or straightforward biological age). But for now, keep this in mind whenever they mention their age.

When we are talking about a fandom so big and so many different corners of the world, some boundaries have been broken because it can have a different meaning. but in general we are good, but of course bad things gets blown out of proportion (like in all of modern society) . But ARMY brings new kind of discourses to the table, on a lot of areas like xenophobia, colonism, celebrity culture, the femine gaze, psychology, philosophy and social issues etc. From old Idol culture having a relationship was kept secret and parts of the fandom will have a hard time when they come out, but many also wish them well.

Agree here. What haters don’t realize is not only is the fandom larger than anyone can imagine, but culture, age, religion, gender, political views, language, ETC - are SO DIVERSE. Coupled with social media - things that seem “hateful” to some, don’t to others. I see this with most with western locals who maybe have some misconceptions about others. And I agree there are some “toxic” fans, but that makes up less than 1-2% of the entire fandom. But the fandom is huge so it seems like a lot at first.

As I've said before..."If it's not scary, it's not news". Same with the fandom. Just look at that "map" that shows all the charity events again (remembering that only includes events from a specific website, plus how much was donated - the cash, blood, pet food, etc. - was for a SINGLE year, not to mention the other 9 years they've been around now). One fan stalking BTS at the airport - WITH NO PANTS ON! - is "MUCH more newsworthy" than ALL of those charities (from *every* year) combined....unfortunately. Because it paints "us" (ARMY) in a bad light. Especially in the beginning. Who wants to hear about ARMY being from all countries, are all races, creeds, age groups, etc. and are doing all those events when you can report on that one - SOLO - fan who once tried to sneak into their hotel room? The press has tried to put ARMY down just as much as they've tried to undermine BTS' success.
This is also why we're often seen as "over-protective". Those who've been around longer? We've learned when and how to pick our battles. Newer ARMY/Baby ARMY aren't quite there yet...but we are trying to help them on their journey so they don't make those same mistakes we once did, too. There is a time and place to get defensive...there is a time and place to "let this one slide"...Baby ARMY will all learn in time.

I am a 66yo grandmother that lives in a "House of ARMY". I was introduced to BTS by my, at the time, 10yo granddaughter in 2017. I was confined to my bed due to a serious injury and she would sit with me and watch videos, showing me one of BTS' videos and I fell in love, or "down the rabbit hole" as we ARMY say. I spent many hours watching videos and learning each members name by their face and not their hair color. LOL I was also severely depressed and their songs gave me hope and I learned to "love myself". I was able to see them in concert twice in 2019 and meet many other ARMYs . One of my favorite videos is RM's very eloquent and moving speech at the UN in 2018. It is something that you really need to watch.
In my home there is my daughter, age 42, and another granddaughter, age 13. My husband was converted in 2020. We each have a different bias .. myself - RM, Daughter - V, 16yo granddaughter - Jin, 13yo granddaughter - J Hope, husband - OT7.
After watching the video and learning their name, you did pretty good on their full name and stage name. But you will also need to learn to call them by their given names. Most ARMY will refer to some them by their given first name and not stage name. These are Namjoon (RM), Yoongi (SUGA), Hobi (JHope), Tae (V), and most recently JK (Jungkook). Jin and Jimin go by their given name already.
I hope you watch more and enjoy more videos, starting in 2013 with NO MORE DREAM to 2023 and all their solo projects.

ARMY is an acronym for Adorable Representative MC for Youth. ARMY is meant to so stand with BTS in support of the underrepresented voices and values that they promote and advocate for in their music.
About personal information like dating or their families, ARMY actively as a whole discourages invasive behavior toward the privacy of the guys. To the extent that we don't know the names of most of their family members if they haven't decided to explicitly share them with us. We also have a policy of not bothering them if we find them on day-to-day nonscheduled activities. We try to take down and not encourage invasive behavior and we communicate with the company if we detect anything like that, so the company cant take measures in order to protect them. Bangtan means “bulletproof” 😊
It’s always best to watch an explanation for the BTS members before delving deeper into their music :D I know someone commented already but as you know they write, compose and produce literally all of their songs on every album. They mainly sing in korean but in their 300+ discography they also have songs/albums fully in japanese. Only the 3 full English songs weren’t written by them, one of them, Permission to Dance was a gift from Ed Sheeran to them. They were just songs to cheer people up during the pandemic. They don’t represent the essence of BTS.
Some things that aren’t said in the explanation: They have as of now 5 Grammy nominations, 28 Guiness World Records and are currently the 4th most awarded artist in history with 800+ awards, along with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston or Beyonce. They are more then a K-pop group. They are legends.
Other explanation videos you should check out are: XCeleste’s Introductions to BTS and ARMY,
Rice Squad’s “Most beautiful life goes on, A story of BTS (2022 update)”
    XCeleste’s “BTS harships”

It is the only group with this path and that makes then different. You are a part of the fandom not just because of their music, or their faces or whatever. Thank you for your reaction video. I've had a really sh*tty day today and whenever I feel this way I watch old BTS stuff or am looking for people who discover our guys for the first time and go along on their journey. I consider myself biased OT7 which means for me personally that I don't have a "favorite" but love alle seven equally (sometimes for different things/aspects of their personality). It's okay to have a bias - and it's totally okay to don't have one. Although, sometimes I feel Min Yoongi (SUGA) is some kind of spirit animal to me. 😂

I liked how you paid attention to the lyrics as well even though you said you focus more on the sound. Their music and lyrics especially can take you on a whole literal journey. They have helped heal millions of people and saved many people from suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety and etc. Their Run BTS variety show is a free therapy for many ARMYs. Really there is no one like them! The thing that has inspired me the most about them is the fact that they made their own path, before them the more away from a regular person an idol could be (whether it was looks, attitud or lifestyle) the better, they really made sure to make a connection with their fans. Bts where one of the first kpop artists that not only wrote their own music but wrote about important matters. What I'm trying to say is, all of this it's an anomaly while Bts are part of the industry they are so far away of what kpop is because of the liberty to express themselves through their music their company gave them

As we are currently in Chapter 2 of Bangtan, all members have levelled-up to an insane standard and achievements. By June 2023, 4 of the members have debuted their critically-acclaimed solo albums (they had a few mixtapes before), 1 member with a single album, another two members coming this year as well.
    Performance Highlights in Chapter 2
RM - album ‘Indigo’ - Live in Seoul @Rolling Hall concert - title tracks ‘Wild Flower’ & ‘Still Live’
Jin - single ‘The Astronaut’ - Buenos Aeras: Coldplay’s MOTS concert
    Suga/Agust D - album ‘D-Day’ - world tour concert - title tracks ‘Haegum’ & ‘Amygdala’
Jhope - album ‘Jack In The Box’ - headliner for Lollapalooza Chicago - highest selling in 31 years history of Lollapalooza - title tracks ‘Arson’ & ‘More’

There's alot of fake ARMY so remember BTS stand for good and BTS will find you when you need them most. You'll definitely get alot of ppl acting bad....just rmbr that's not ARMY and dont waste your time reading it THAT WAS SUGAS ADVICE...HE SAID HE DOESN'T LOL. "Always be genuine"....if there's something you don't like then say you don't like it. There's no way to like everything. That's how the genuine ARMY finds real ARMY. Just like you say you lean more toward the rappers....thank you for keeping it real and that's what got me to subscribe ...to give you the chance to see how far you go down the BTS rabbit hole ( you will notice how they change you...they help you love yourself and less worrying) Also don't start with their English songs, wait on those...the Korean songs are alot better. English is the most spoken language and due to ARMY being worldwide BTS came out with some English pop songs to make ppl feel better during COVID

You may not understand the hierarchy but Korean culture is so different from say the US. When meeting someone one of the first things you determine is age. They even have a formal manner of talking depending on that age. They show a respect to anyone older then themselves. That's one of the reasons Suga had a bad look when talking to the rappers at that table. Not being able to cut loose at that time he waited and expressed his displeasure in a rap song. He and RM both expressed a lot in their earlier rap songs. Also if you like darker stuff you need to watch some of J Hope's later solo stuff. Also I would have never believed I would listen to a group like BTS in my 70's, but here you go. They're my adopted grandsons❣

I couldn't agree more with these words. I've been a "baby ARMY" for just under a month, and they arrived at a very important time in my life. I have suffered from depression and anxiety since I was 9 years old, and now I'm 25, I would have liked to discover BTS much earlier, but evidently it wasn't the time; This week I had two really bad days due to depression and watching BTS videos, listening to their songs, catching up on live shows, helped me get through those two days, and they're helping me even now that I'm in recovery. They are 7 truly special kids, and I believe the world would be a truly empty place without them. I completely fell in love with them in less than a week, I don't think I'll ever be able to do without them again.

They give us so much…the least we can do is work hard to enable them to have as normal lives as possible.

Taylor's video gives an excellent introduction to the boys. I'm sure there were a lot of us who helped her fine tune the final version. We have had snippets about their personal lives over the years but their privacy is carefully protected. However, their personalities have been on show from the word, go. They certainly scrub up well in their formal suits. You'll need to listen carefully when you watch behind the scenes videos to catch the correct pronunciation of Korean names and terms.
Bang Si-hyuk is usually known as Bang PD or Hitman Bang. He has told them they can call him hyung now so he is now like a big brother rather than a boss to them.
A.R.M.Ys call Namjoon, The President, because he is such a great leader. Normally the leader is the oldest but RM was the natural choice with his high IQ and high emotional intelligence. His job is to liaise between the members and the agency. He's the middle child but does an amazing job supporting his band brothers both older and younger.
Min Yoongi is the encyclopedia of the group. He's also known as Minstradamus because he makes predictions which largely come true. He writes over 200 songs a year some of which he offers to other artists. BTW he's AGUST D not Angst D. That's a very cute mistake. Watch his series, Suchwita, The most recent one, where he interviews, Jin, gives some insight into how these two very different men supported each other and became firm friends while sharing a dorm room.
Their dance director is Son Sung-deuk. They then have other professional choreographers who choreograph their dances. The boys then tailor certain aspects to fit a particular stage. J-Hope is often called, Hobi and more recently, J. He's the dance captain and they all look to him to help them with their routines.
Jin's real name, Seokjin is pronounced, Sockjin. He's such a sweet, gentle soul who loves to make us laugh by wearing funny sunglasses or head ornaments during concert encores.
Jungkook is now mostly called, JK. He was so lucky to have such wonderful hyungs to set him on the right path even if they did embarrass him by mentioning that he was going through puberty. He is a little bit of a rebel with his tattoos and piercings. It's hard for some fans to recognise him as an adult even though he's 25 now.
V has a divergent personality. He has a different take on things and they thought he was an alien to start with. JIn said V would just start running round the dorm making noises for no reason and of course he has his own TaeTae language. He has been voted the World's most handsome man. He's part of the friendship group, The Wooga Squad which consists of actors, Park Seo-joon, Park Hyung-sik, Choi Woo-shik and rapper, Peak Boy,
Jimin is a heartbreaker. So many straight male fans fall for him and once you Jim-in you can't, Jim-out. He is so caring and is concerned for the welfare of the other members. He has a unique voice which is high without being falsetto. He has quite few tattoos. (They now all have the group tattoo which is a 7).
The fans who cause trouble are called sasaengs. Recently one kept sending JK food to his home which he found very unsettling and told them to stop or he would get the agency involved. Hybe will prosecute anyone defaming or pestering their artists. They've had death threats in the past. Unfortunately it's the price of fame. They have a lot of bodyguards these days to keep them safe. We have no idea if any of them are dating. Occasionally they are linked with someone (or each other) but nothing has ever been confirmed. They would all love to become dads so one day soon I hope they'll find their life partner.
You will never hit the bottom of the rabbit hole. In the fandom your favourite is called your bias and you can have a bias-wrecker but a lot of us are OT7 - One True 7, because they are all such amazing artists.
    Have fun.

I'm sure you know this already by now, but I just had to say -
Yes, Bangtan means Bulletproof. Their first logo was a bulletproof vest, but they later evolved it into a pair of doors to represent growth and always moving forward. ARMY has a matching logo that when fitted to BTS logo makes a shield. Their name represents being impervious to the criticisms and hate thrown at young people like bullets. They wanted to be a voice for their generation and stand up to hate. Boy did they ever. So there are a lot of references to bullets and combat in early songs and videos and it's still a recurring theme. The finger gun move you saw in "We Are Bulletproof" (one of their two very first debut songs as rookies) evolved into a sign for 7 and you can see it repeatedly in their choreography or photos. Most recently Jungkook used it in the choreography for his solo single "Seven." Their last album as a group to date was Proof (as in Bulletproof) but also as in the proof of their success and their talent.
Namjoon (RM ) said "We are the Bullet, and you (ARMY) are the Proof."

Unfortunately at a fandom as huge as ARMY you can't prevent it. Next topic dating. You have to know that talking about dating openly in Korea is not that common. So one keeps it very private. So there are no official information about their dating like and we ARMY don't really care because it's not our buisness and isn't important to us. The dates under their names are their birthdates, so Jin is the oldest and JK the youngest. RM is smack in the middle which is very unusual because in most groups the leader is automatically the oldest. Jungkook was 15 when they debuted but 13 when he auditioned and went to training. That's why he looks like a little boy in his audition, because he was just a young boy. Two suggestions: When you have time, check out Run BTS, the reality/variety show. You'll get to know their crazy fun side, and personalities. It ran from 2015 to 2022.
For vocal line power, watch House of Cards.
    AND
Jungkook just had the Global #1 spot for 7 weeks, which is why you know his name.
August D is pronounced like AUGUST, not angst.(though he shares plenty of angst).
Watch V's solo album videos for the mellow sound you like, Layover.

What Is A BTS Fan Called?
The name ARMY represents more than just being a listener of BTS and has two meanings behind it. ARMY is an acronym for “Adorable Representative M.C. For Youth” and literally means army. BTS’s name in Korean, Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” in English. Their fans are ARMY, and BTS is the armor that protects them, signifying the band and their ARMY will always be together.

in lots of Asian countries age does matter. Specially in countries like Korea. that actually has a logic even it doesn't work all the time. Older ones have more experience than younger ones which make them more mature. But Jin as the oldest member does not use his authority. Instead he is the most easy going one in the group. he is such an interesting person. he started with no background in dancing and singing but now he is the silver vocalist of the group. He is so funny but is the official visual of the group.

Impressed? Yes! I'm jealous that you have so much more to discover. In my country, k-pop is not played on the radio. I discovered them 2 years ago, and have watched and listened to them every day since then. I love these 7 guys who are so humble, honest, funny, yet shy. And crazy. All their lovely personalities! Will be an Army forever!

Unfortunately, yes, they are not exempt from the occasional extreme fan. When this happens, the rest of the fandom quickly come to their defense and we do worry about them. We just make sure to send them positive thoughts and messages and reassure them that not all the fandom is like that and to please be safe. 💜

Bangtan Soneyondan is BTS Korean name. It means “Bulletproof Boyscouts”. So Bangtan is Bulletproof, not habgover soup!😂
They are the best of the best in music as writers, composers, producers, singers, rappers, dancers, etc, but also as human beings💜💜
ARMY means Adorable Representative MC’s for Youth.
    Welcome to ARMY!!!!🤗💜🫶🏻🫰🏻

BTS are such an amazing group who really have let their fans into their lives - especially the youngest JK in the past 6ish months or so. He's been going live a lot on Weverse which is a social media app created by Hybe that's like Twitter but A LOT of different idols/artists use it that allows them to post videos, messages and do livestreams while replying directly to fan posts. I have it both on my phone and use the website on my laptop to catch any lives and they'll be updated within a few days with English subs. That boy misses ARMY a lot and he'll spend hours just singing, hanging out, recently he's been watching BTS content with us and I shit you not he fell asleep (snoring included) with million of us watching - I was one of them. On the other side we don't know much about their more personal lives, IE: dating but I don't care about that outside of wanting them to be happy and have someone who loves them for them. I'm also going to say ARMY are some of the most talented and dedicated people who produce incredible content like this to share our mutual love of the boys and to showcase WHAT makes them great rather than the often misguided narrative media likes to use.

As a fellow ARMY AND GamerSupps fan I am stoked to see both from one TH-camr... Not me trying to see which cups you have in the background everytime... I think the ones who have had so far are older ones as I dont see any I have in my collection lol...
Anyways, BTS helped me through suicide when I lost my younger brother (he was my best friend) back in 2014... I was going down a very slippery slope and if it wasnt for SHINee, BTS, Vixx and Got7, I would not be alive today... I was lost as I felt I had been put on this earth to be my brother's big sister and without him I lost my way... I became so enthralled with each member of each group and they helped fill a bit of the hole my brother's death left me... I am so proud of these boys and will forever support them (I even got a tattoo of an infinity symbol with BTS written into it, as it also serves to remind me to love myself and live for myself)... BTS especially became my huge focus (Sorry SHINee, I know you were my first, but I am sure you understand!!!) with all the behind the scenes and every day life stuff they uploaded... BTS became my crutch then, now they are an aid but I can stand on my own two feet emotionally... I am eternally thankful to these seven angels...

I'm so glad that you found this outlet! It's so positive and warm I think to myself regularly how many people these boys have saved... it's remarkable! I'm so happy for this because when we think about how many people in this world need to take their minds out of darkness and into some light... damn I just hope that my little roll in all of this is exposing someone to the light... good for you Koko!!!
ALSO... you kinda freaked me out today. lololol. I ligit was JUST trying to write a youtube community post because I'm interested in seeing if I could partner with Gamer Supps and I have ask before on stream with lots of people saying yes.. but I wanna get a larger idea if people would be into that... anyways I was typing out a fantastic YT community poll..and thennn I deleted it by accident:((((
Then when I seen your comment talking about it I was like... WAIT?!? DID IT POST?!..! OH NO HAHHA but here we are. I will have that poll up soon. But it's looking like the community is pretty down for this idea

when i discovered BTS a a couple of years ago, i had no idea i was living under a rock in a cave...and i consider myself very aware of current events😆but we westerners tend not to pay too much attn to asian society, though im more into geopolitics.
I know this was a long video but you really need to watch ones about their journey thru this industry and all of the prejudices, accusations(false), and hardships they went thru and why the ARMY is so protective of these boys by xCeleste BTS Hardship 2013-2021(hope she updates but there are some good boracity videos too explaining)..she also has many other videos about the continued music industry's prejudices as well as purposeful pressure to try to prevent their continued success. we all know about corporate greed.

Of course like in any fandom there it's crazy people out there so yes sometimes it happens however it's highly frowned upon in army to be anything else but a fan, we respect their privacy and boundaries as best as we can, I highly recommend this video:
"How army changed fandom culture" it delves deeper on the relationship of respect we have amongst us and bts
    th-cam.com/video/R9oLOq7E92M/w-d-xo.html
As you said in a way you feel as part of their lives, they are people we care a about. I think most army's would agree with me we don't really care about their love life or any private schedules as long as they are happy.

You discovering BTS on their 10th year anniv is ICONIC.
    For solos I recommend
    RM's Wild Flower ft. youjeen
Suga's D-day (it's the first song in his new solo album, there's no MV so I recommend the official audio and a tab with lyric translations open, just to make sure the view goes to him directly).
J-Hope's Equal Sign (there isn't a MV so stream it the same way as D-day) and Daydream
    Jin's Epiphany
Jungkook's Dreamers ft. Fahad Al Kubaisi
    V's Singularity
    Jimin's Like Crazy
    For group songs I recommend
    Life Goes On
    Pied Piper
Born Singer (the stage mix pls oh pls, do the stage mix from the channel Brilliant if you chose born singer, it mixes 2 performances visually and audibly so on each ear you'll hear the mic recordings from 2 different performances, it's beautiful)
Anyways, hope you continue to discover and enjoy BTS music. Borahae

@@MasterGo89 I'll be here, and also don't worry if there's ever a song or project from them you don't vibe with as much, their discography is HUGE and since they don't restrict themselves to one genre, there might be songs you don't like, and that's perfecly fine to say in your reactions if it happens. We all have our preferences in music and armys understand that liking BTS and respecting their talents doesn't mean "I will love every single song they ever put out". We appreciate honesty more than anything in reactions and it makes it easier for us to recommend songs that are more ur taste in music. 💜

It's not really mentioned in Taylor's video, but BTS were some of the first, if not the actual first, "streamer" idols in k-pop. Before them, k-pop idols only showed their polished and professional sides to the public. While idols would go on variety shows during their promotions, where some degree of silliness might be expected, they weren't often given the chance to show their true personalities or just how hard they worked (or how much they struggled). BTS broke that unspoken rule (something they have continued to do over the years in various areas) chosing to show not just the perfect, polished idol facade, but the "seven normal boys" behind the idols. This choice has largely worked in their favor, forming one of the closest parasocial relationships between artists and fans in the k-pop industry, if not the entire entertainment industry worldwide. BTS treat ARMY as a true part of the group, giving ARMY a great deal of trust, and in return ARMY (mostly) respect the boys' boundaries.
While there are definitely some "fans" who take the relationship too far, this is not something unique to BTS. These individuals are known as "saesang", and will go the whole range from stalking artists to more extremes like attempting to kidnap or harm the artists. There are a number of rather terrifying stories from other groups and artists involving saesangs sending them tainted food, or the artists finding tracking devices in their vehicles. For the most part, there are no similar close calls with BTS, although recently there was a girl who was sending food to Jungkook's home, and over the years there have been several direct threats against various members' lives - fortunately none of which ever came true thanks to the dedication and vigilance of both the company and their security team.
