Cool line overall - sound terrific. But I question the use of poorly flamed maple caps on the SC and Customs. Just paint the guitars a solid color (like the Starla) or have plain maple. To me a weak flame top just screams "compromise" after you spent over a grand.
Lee's vibrato is honestly one of my favorite things in the world
I'm usually all for Chappers, but Lee totally murdered the intro. It was brilliant!

Lee and I are best mates, our jams are always fun.
Lee just had a baby a few weeks ago, he is exhausted and it was very hot in the video room - he's just tired.
The Starla is very cool looking imo. The shape of the pickguard somehow works so well.

Any chance of a Michael Kelly guitar review? I've always been interested in them because their guitars look well crafted, but I haven't had the chance to play one yet, so it would be cool to see what the gear reviewing pros think!
Lee is improving by each day going past, he's getting more&more confident... I remember a video a while back where he explained that he wasn't the best of players however in this past year he has really picked things up... He may just feel less confident when he's jamming with Rob who is obviously exceptional, it would be fairly stressful...

I would suggest the PRS, Gibson has seen some pretty declining quality control in recent years, but PRS is uncompromising, they may strip away the fanciness of the guitar, but the build quality is always top.
I understand where you're coming from, but from my point of view, all those little embellishments are what sets their reviews apart from the many other reviews TH-cam houses. If you prefer a bit more of a "no-nonsense" approach to guitar reviews, there are hundreds of other fantastic channels for you to watch, but the antics on Rob and Captain's videos are half of what makes them so fun to watch.
though i must say those two amps match much better than the orange and the fender :D
I would love to like the sound of the Starla / because / Bigsby, Shape and all is wonderful / but somehow the Mira just sounds more like me / Could just be the Captain's tone is more my thing, and that Starla was only played in clean lead for 3 seconds per pickup, before going to full drive (Rob I love you and your playing, but clean is nice too)!
I don't know why so many Tards hate on Chappers. He has the feeling too. Lee definitely plays some nice blues as well/
Iron883Man I think its great that they do that. Theyre playing through amps that people are more likely to have.
if you own a prs, you're not going to play it through a beginners amp (not insulting the ht5, it's quite an awesome little amp)
I dunno about this but, it feels like I'm back from a concert or something; coming here from the "CONTEST VIDEO THINGYYYY" \m/ People went nuts over there and so did I..!
That's my purchasing dilemma at the moment. Leaning to the Mira, but will probably end up with both at some point.

The custom sounds the most PRSish, and therefore, best for me.
+paullemieux100 Well to be fair and honest, the Custom is what defined _the_ PRS sound at first. Now all new models (singlecut, single coil, HSH, Bigsby, etc...) are just new good additions to expand the sound range, but the Custom will always stay what people might have in mind when they think about PRS.
These guitars are fantastic, I think a pickguard does a guitar a world of good!

Love the new S2 series guitars. The SE's are good, but they needed something in that middle area.

How about a DEATH MATCH between a PRS S2 custom vs GIBSON Studio Les Paul!That 2 guitars in the same price range that are somewhat similar.
Or you could ebay it since used PRS's are cheap as chips. I got a 2008 regular Mira for $999 and it's still my favorite guitar I've ever owned.

I gotta stay I love the s2 custom but I really really reallllllllyyyyy digged the sound of the mira. To me that was one of those guitars that makes you think, thats the tone, I dont care what color or how it looks, I love it, but of course that is subjective to everyone. And it has the looks to boot! Cheers guys

Requesting an Andertons: Uncut channel dedicated to cut and bleeped blue collar hilarity.
I love the Mira's shape, I think it's beautiful, very Santana-esque but they don't do that shape in their high-end lines which disappoints me. I think the custom24 shape reminds me of Ibanez guitars and I'm not all about that.
Guys, this particular video audio quality is very good into my headphones. Mirror S2 with the Marshall sound nice to me.
Capt. Lee's soloing just seems to get better and better all the time.
I actually like Lee's playing better. He actually plays with some feeling and though Rob has more native talent, Rob is caught into the faster is better style.

No matter what guitar Rob plays, its always out of tune, like when Lee had the Mira, it was in tune, as soon as Rob gets it, out of tune. Wtf, tune your damn guitars before playing ANYTHING. Thanks
I have the dot neck version of the starla in surf green. Great guitar! plays and sounds awesome. they are pretty lightweight so they are very comfortable to play on stage (well balanced). Overall rating: B++++++++

A decade later and Lee has turned into a completely different guitarist! It is amazing to see how far he's come
It's definitely a sweet guitar! My friend has a Starla in the same color minus the Bigsby and it's an awesome piece.
It sucks that PRS refuses to make their SE or S2 models in left handed though, so I'm out of that market.

The Captain was really digging in with the Mira. Lee, you should be playing this guitar, it connects to you
So a big difference is noticed between the s2 and se factories was they got to listen to music on the s2 factory

I totally believe that. It feels like I can see it getting worse in some particular videos. At times it looks like Lee is getting really knotted with it, maybe it has something to do with chappers sudden increase in charisma also...

Few of the reasons are that US prices are always shown without taxes (VAT) and in Europe, prices are generally with taxes.
The rates of the taxes are also higher in Europe (sometimes up to 20% depending the country).
Now add the fact the US market is consuming more and are distributed in store chains that can negotiate more prices than individual store in EU.
And finally add some shipping cost from US factory to EU stores...
It might be few reasons I can see, but not the only ones.
Rob and Lee you guys are awesome as always I hope to get over there some day and maybe meet you in person, I have been looking at the Mira and I truly appreciate your reviews so much so that if I am thinking of buying an amp or guitar I will do a search to see if you have covered it at sometime or another I play drums but I own 5 guitars so I look to you guys for guitar guidance if you will thanks Randy

Am I the only one who thinks some of the most recent andertons videos from Rob and Lee have been TOO relaxed:s I respect these guys have to do endless hours of filming but "because of reasons" doesn't seem to reflect the store too well?;S Not knocking you guys atall, loved the videos since they as good as started, rock on!
How much is the custom? "The custom though is 1095 pounds, and only has the option to have birds on it.... The custom, being a more expensive guitar to assemble with the trem system and the maple cap top and all that malarkey, is 1249." Well? which one is it? Great job on the video though guys. I see no problem with a guy trying to make a living any way he can. I enjoy the silly antics, I don't care if he's trying to sell me something at the same time. It's so difficult these days for a musician to make a living. If this allows him to make music, then so be it. I enjoy Chappers the Internet personality and the guitarist.
I knew that PRS had been holding silent on the S2 Series for a while, due to the "NDA has lapsed" way so much information came out at once. The setting of this video just serves to demonstrate how long PRS kept this in the can (a phrased borrowed from the movie industry).
He needs to support himself though and if it means that he mentions his guitar company (which makes nice, affordable guitars, by the way,) then I am fine with that. At the end of the day, he will always be human. Once a musician, always a musician.
s2 custom sounds great, could you do another comparison? custom 24 vs se vs s2? just a small one but i wanna know if the higher price of the s2 is worth it. maybe you could also put an sh-1 and sh-5 in a se custom and compare? would be awesome guys!!!

Why does it seem like I'm the only guitarist in the world who's sick of minor pentatonic blues in demos? Everyone always uses it. It's boring... We all know harmonic minor and lydian/mixolydian is where it's at! :P

Because the S2 actually looks cheaper than the SE to me. if you'd blur the headstocks i'd say the S2 is the cheap one instead of the SE.
Some people really can't bear to see other people's success. Why shouldn't he try to improve his life or finances as much as he possibly can? The ideal of the starving artist sounds romantic, but it is bullshit.
He has to earn a living. You do realise that he can't have a day job, run his youtube channel and be in a active band at the same time? Those views are very important to him even if they are "cheap" as you put it.

Although, I do agree a bit. The antics can't take precedence over the actual specs. Telling me it's tree wood is a bit...shortcoming to telling me it's mahogany, because I am here foremost to see what the guitar is about.

I'd still prefer a used USA. I don't really care for the features the S2's have.
I think you would have won the last test if it hadn't rained and would still have a chance of getting the Ashes back. Still, the rain proved something we all know, God is in fact an Englishman.
