Whoa, such heartwarming blast from the past.. for me 2014 was golden age of TF2 for sure, with the Expiration Date, all the major updates, Saxxy awards and all. Now in 2022 we are living the peak of TF2 filmmaking with so many talented animators still making videos with many years of experience. (And all the new tools at our disposal like the stretchy Eltorro models!) Great times!
Damn i really miss those times, honestly i think it went downhill mainly thanks to what the Meet&Match update, at least there's community servers where i can still experience the same kind of fun
it was my 2nd year of TF2 i was in high school and was just hitting this point in my playtime where i understood the game enough to know why to enjoy it but not enough to take the game and its balance too seriously this game can be magical sometimes

Hey Lazy. I know youve had some mental health battles and i just want to let you know that you made my childhood dude. Watching your how it feels videos as a kid genuinely made me want to play tf2. now years later im playing it and watching your videos again. I hope that one day we shall get the legend known as....How it feels, to play, Medic
I'm going to be honest, this video has the first sponsorship segment I chose not to skip past in _months,_ and that's solely because seeing dogs makes me happy.
Glad u enjoyed making this one bro. Try not to burn yourself out trying to achieve perfection, but as I’m sure you know, we really appreciate the effort you put into this stuff. Til next time!
I cannot express how heartfeltedly delighted I am that you had fun making this video. And that you've gotten so much figured out about your adhd. I have flirted with burnout before, in all cases but one narrowly avoiding full-on burnout. To be able to continue to do the thing you burnt out on and remember why you started in the first place, to fall back in love with it, that is beyond value. And no matter how high a production value something has, it is always a better product and piece of art when the artist enjoyed making it. I'm so freaking proud of you for taking a stand against your perfectionistic tendencies - something I have yet to really succeed in doing - and for the level of self-compassion you've developed.
Hey lazy, whenever the medic video is ready you should just wait another year to release it, just so you can do an April fools version that is just a compilation of dying as medic. Anyway, even though you're probably never going to read this I hope you're doing great and take care, please don't do more than it's humanly possible and just take a break if you're feeling burnt out 🙏
650K views in a DAY, that's wild. I'm actually astonished at how lazy's fan base is so committed to waiting *this long* for a TH-camr to upload again. Honestly, be proud of what you got here like how you explained at the end, you really have something special here.
What do you mean waiting? im subbed and this video showed up in the feed in which all subbed to youtubers video does, and i just pressed watch? Im still subbed to Totalbiscuit and not expecting any uploads from him anytime soon either.
I'm not astonished in the slightest. If someone is pushing out bad content daily I'm going to unsubscribe. If someone goes dark, I'm going to stay subbed, I have no reason to remove it. And if one day they finally come back, BAM I get my notification and click on the video.
LazyPurple is a saint. Participating in every event and competitive, his videos are actually so popular and good that he got quoted many times and he dedicated to his goals to this day. What a legend.
Thank you for unearthing the recordings of the day Conga was unleashed on the TF2 public. It brought back so many amazing memories. Valve servers turned into an entirely different game as Rancho Relaxo'ing engineers stood watch over the conga dancing masses. I still remember being absolutely astounded by the scale of the Love & War update at the tender age of 12. That was probably one of the greatest days in TF2 history. You're a hero for finding that footage Lazy
We miss you Lazy. Not trying to rush you or anything, but it’d be nice if you posted a short video or community post saying that you’re still with us would be awesome. Again, prioritize your mental health. We miss you brother.
This video was such a nostalgia trip. I remember my brother and I and our friends obsessing over the game. Honestly have spent some of the best years of my life on this game and this video helped me realize that I owe a lot of my friendships and happiness to the game. Thank you. I also understand how burnout can really take a toll on the body. Am coming up on my last semester of college and I've been nonstop working on my classes or at work and it makes you feel so tired and drained of energy. My advice is to just remember that you have a ton of people around you that support you and want to see you succeed. Being able to place that trust in others and lessen the burden on yourself is something that's worked wonders on dealing with my anxiety during school. You may just be one person, but you're also the culmination of the friendships, relationships, and collaborations you make.
27:36 one of the best things that ever happened to lazy, to the point that when they mention "spy in the house" he hums it. what happened to that great singer?
I'm not sure how much it means hearing this from a complete stranger, but I'm really proud of you for taking the time you have to understand your own ADHD and how it affects you specifically. The fact that you've managed to pump out the absolutely amazing videos you have already despite everything is something I really admire, it's honestly kind of inspiring, as someone who struggles with my own ADD and Depression. I just wanna say thank you for the amazing video as always, watching this put the biggest smile on my face, I'm so happy to hear that you're doing better, happy holidays, and good luck in the future! Also, the way you make fun of past-lazy made me feel bad for him even though I do the exact same thing to myself, LMAO.
Lazy, above everything else... above schedules, animations, youtube as a whole, please make sure you are taking care of yourself. Through it all, we will forever love your videos. Casual videos, clip dumps, and breaks are never unwelcome. I think I speak for everyone when I say, we love what you do. Take care you legend.
15:36 The Heavy was not only convinced you were the real Engineer, but that the other Engineer was the Spy. This is like the trope where a character has to determine who is real and who is the shapeshifter but thinks the shapeshifter is the real one
Hope you're doing awesome dude!! I've literally grown up watching your videos and you're a huge inspiration. I also am dealing with my own mental mess + you being brave enough to take care of yourself first helped me realize I should as well. In a much better place now
31:00 The amount of confidence that Soldier was ozzing was just unreal. Also its good to see that you are feeling better Lazy and it feels nice that you are enjoying yourself with the work you make on your videos again and take your time with the Medic video i bet it is going to be amazing once it is realesed.
You and Dane were one of the two horsemen who inspired me to do TH-cam and now since you created how it feels to play tf2 I’m making a vr version of it
God that clip at 32:29 sounds so happy and the heavy dancing the conga line is something else man It’s funny how your voice sounds similar yet so different at the same time.
You're a real inspiration to all of us, LazyPurple. Take as much time as you need for How it Feels to play the Medic. I won't even be mad if you don't end up releasing it. I'm just happy to have been along for the ride up to now.
i really miss lazy, i dont even mind how long it takes to get the how it feels videos, i just really miss his videos in general. even just clip videos like these are so much fun for me hope you’re well, my favorite yearly youtuber! take your time with how it feels to play medicn
That ending segment where you talked about your struggles with making really struck me. As somebody in my third year of art school and struggling from burnout, thank you for sharing your experience. I really hope I’ll be able to silently and peacefully continue at making art in the same way you’ve been working. I always try and keep an eye out for whenever you stream or make a video, not just as a long time fan, but because I like watching you as an individual succeed.
It may have been 7 months, but Lazy, I hope you’re focusing on recovering instead of trying to burn yourself out again. Your videos, no matter how long they’ve taken, have been entertaining as all hell and fun to rewatch! I hope you feel better by the time you next post, and that you find this comment as helpful.
to be honest even if there aren't any SFM bits i still like listening to your tips and the clips you have, that alone is already some really good content. take as long as you need man, i know how you feel with the ADHD burnout thing.
Going back to 2012 - 2014 feels so surreal.. it was like a completely different game back then everything was so weird and... unique? Can't really explain what it is but it's there and I kinda wish I was there to experience it.
Even though he is still active in the community and watching him in other videos, I miss the amazing videos he made. I’m not here to whine or anything, it’s his choice to not make videos and I will always support him and watch him in other videos
Honestly it’s nice to see other people with ADHD to be able to not only push out something incredible but also be able to get support and help. Hope you are doing fine and keep making content, no matter how goofy it may be.
I mean he could've been like me, so easily distracted that would never get it done and just procrastinate about wanting/needing to do it. Although that maybe more of a mental issue than a ADHD issue
You literally ignited my burning love for TF2 with these nostalgic clips. And I really relate to you pushing yourself too hard with making videos. I've done the same with esports and it can be super hurtful. I really hope you're gonna be healthier and remember to take care of yourself!
Hey Lazy! Just here to tell you and remind you that we are all here for you and that’s there is no need to loose ur hair over this, take ur time and I know you’ll make a great video and I hope things have been less stressful than they’ve previously been!
I know you wont see this but, we will still watch and enjoy any video you make even if it's unedited, no sfm and even no jokes, everyone here is here for you.
I love how kind & supportive people are on this guy's comments...and compassionate (as opposed to PITYING). It matters. Genuine support buoys your spirits when your world is rife with potentially overwhelming irl challenges...and it's lovely to see how KIND people are.
As a person with adhd as well, keep working on your mental, your videos will always be amazing weather they are scripted, edited, or animated. You got me into TF2, and now I have over 2,000 hours.
Mental health is often overlooked, and I'm glad you've been able to take some time to focus on yourself. Figuring out what works and doesn't is a trying process for any creative... It's very inspirational and brave of you to be so open about it with us. Keep getting better, my friend. We'll stand by you, 2014 Lazy or 2022 and beyond Lazy. :)
I am SO GLAD that you've been getting good help. My ADHD led to 24 years of awful burnout cycles and frustration. I'm really glad to hear you've set a more realistic goal for the medic video, I it's *hard* to do that in a way that only someone who's gone through the same cycle can. You've got this, Lazy, and I know people are gonna love what you've got coming!
Hey, Lazy, I'm glad you spoke to us about your mental health. I'm glad you're feeling better and still trying. You're one of the coolest guys not just in the tf2 community, but in TH-cam in general. Looking forward to more of your videos!
I've enjoyed every single video of the How It Feels series, and I don't expect Medic to be any different, regardless of how many high-effort bits there are. Your script-writing and humor are both phenomenal, and I will always do a 180 every time I see one of your videos in my sub feed.
Hey lazy if ur reading this I want to say thanks when I was a kid I loved ur videos I didn’t have a pc at the time to play tf2 but I saved money now I have a pc I’m 21 now and still play tf2 when I have the chance to plz come back whenever is best for u
Hi Lazy, I'm glad to see you posting videos again! I just got diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago after struggling in University for years at the late age of 22, and I've always been sad about what could have been of my life if I knew and did something about it way sooner. I know you've already talked about some of your journey with ADHD, but I would be inspired and overjoyed to hear you talk about it more in-depth, be it here or in another channel / Patreon. You've been a large part of my life for over ten years, and I want to thank you for that. Keep on truckin', as they say in uh Virginia? Minnesota? China?
There's a lot to say about it! I do hope to say more, maybe I'll start with some sprawling thoughts on Patreon first like you said, or maybe I can ramble longer than I'd usually allow on the second channel. It gets more better the more you understand it trust me! We got this
@@LazyPurple I'm a late diagnosed adult ADHD too and I'm interested to hear your story! It's low-key interesting how quite a lotta creators I like are neurodiverse too. Birds of the same feather I suppose

Honestly Lazy, I know this probably won’t be seen, but ANY content from you is just amazing and I instantly click on. You could release exclusively bee noises for meet the medic and I would still play it 20 times.
I haven’t watched this man for a while I’m rewatching his old vids I think I stopped watching him a week after this vid came out this is somehow so nostalgic
at least we know that he doesn’t need to do most of the work for the video. it could just be a 15 second video with every character in tf2 yelling “MEDIC”
Glad to see you again Lazy! You were a huge reason I got into TF2 about 2 years ago, as someone else who struggles with mental health I can really relate and sympathize with you. Take care of yourself and with the millions of subscribers you have, we all wish you the best! ❤
Lazy purple delivering his yearly but amazing quality video. See you all next year. Actually serious though, I never know when he's going to upload so its such a welcome surprise.
10:03 That “Spah-“‘s gonna stuck in my head for so long, perfectly cut TF2 sounds are too good to be real tbh Anyway, good to hear that you’re good again! Thoroughly enjoyed the video, thank you for the wonderful Christmas present
I don't want to repeat the same thing that has been said before but- I'd like to say thanks to you for being such a good inspiration to me, as a person who has had to deal with ADHD and depression hearing your story and how you fought and dealt with it and still come up and continue with your work is truly just inspirational to me as a person who can't even focus on a single task for school without getting distracted in 5 minutes. It makes me want to try to better myself and try to actually focus on my studies. Not sure if you're gonna see this at all but truly, thank you for being such a big inspiration to people like me and a good content creator. Spend as much time as you need on the next video no matter how long it takes I'm sure it will turn out amazing.
damn this man is the whole reason i started playing tf2 in the first place and i can wait for the medic video cuz you are still working but not to much. MASSIVE respect
23:10 YO WTF THAT WAS ME???!?! The odds of other Crazy Lous running around in 2014 is not zero but that's totally my loadout and I definitely would have done that... weird voice thing as I died.
Please know the effort does not go unnoticed or unappreciated! I love your videos for their editing and the extra mile you go just to add an inch of detail. Take your time, you are doing this for fun and at this point I think TH-cam viewers are all used to waiting months for quality content videos, and it's absolutely worth it! Take care LazyPurple
It's very inspiring to hear about the hundreds of hours of medic footage and *two* hard drives, just learning about all the effort that goes into these videos (and that they're still being worked on) is absolutely incredible

@@Nuthouse01 kinda hits me with how I feel about Fearless honestly.

Any Lazypurple upload, you know its gonna be a good day.
Almost cried at Holly not being able to wear raycons. What an amazing character arc.
i'm gonna go make a petition so holly can wear some
10:09 is a SUPER rare moment and it is so ADORABLE thank you lazy for sharing this moment to the internet.
14:55 made me laugh internally so hard I teared up and started choking. The irony is unparalleled and the *time*-ing (lol) was perfect.
LazyPurple is a saint. Participating in every event and competitive, his videos are actually so popular and good that he got quoted many times and he dedicated to his goals to this day. What a legend.
*Next time They Try make COMMUNİTY UPDATES!*
Lazy’s voice is so unique almost every thing he says sounds positive or funny
this is so true
I'm not even lying when i say that i have never heard anything close to his voice
We miss you Lazy.
Not trying to rush you or anything, but it’d be nice if you posted a short video or community post saying that you’re still with us would be awesome.
Again, prioritize your mental health.
We miss you brother.
17:42 This part is pure gold, you can even see him landing on the background for a split second there lmfao
We’re gonna get gta 6 before how it feels to play medic

That ending segment where you talked about your struggles with making really struck me. As somebody in my third year of art school and struggling from burnout, thank you for sharing your experience. I really hope I’ll be able to silently and peacefully continue at making art in the same way you’ve been working. I always try and keep an eye out for whenever you stream or make a video, not just as a long time fan, but because I like watching you as an individual succeed.

to be honest even if there aren't any SFM bits i still like listening to your tips and the clips you have, that alone is already some really good content. take as long as you need man, i know how you feel with the ADHD burnout thing.
32:28 hearing lazy's reaction to the conga line is so wholesome.
Going back to 2012 - 2014 feels so surreal.. it was like a completely different game back then everything was so weird and... unique? Can't really explain what it is but it's there and I kinda wish I was there to experience it.
2010 - 2015 was TF2's peak. the community's zeitgeist was at it's height. Its a shame that newer players will never be able to experience that era.
actually one of the most consistent sources of genuine laughter on this entire website
im glad i found you
and im glad this game will never die
“Good news, we are not dying. We are going to live forever!”

@@alexandergronvall4036 isn’t it like the most common mental illness?
