Been seeing the posts on Facebook and waiting for this video to come out. I've always loved the squarebody trucks. My dad and his buddies had a bunch of them when I was a kid, the nicest being an all black short bed k10 on 35s with a hopped up 454. The retro graphics are really sweet too. I love the way the old trucks looked between the body lines and wild appearance packages
Hell yes, bud. I have always loved lifted K10 short beds. they look so damn mean. badass trucks. This is going to be a super fun build and I can't wait to see how it looks when we are done. Also, I really want to know what comes from cleaning up the paint and how much it pops after that.
Dammn the truck is a real monster. Oh man good for U bro. I love it. The great county in the world can make the trucks!! Awesome job giving a second chance, the truck deserves it.
WHAT? A Chevy? On this channel? I'm just bustin' your balls. A cool truck is a cool truck, no matter what kind it is! Two things that might 'improve' the gas mileage on that thirsty old 454 are; an electric fan, & EFI, that'll probably mean a new center dome on top of the motor, but it's worth the work. I just did that on my buddy's '70 Chivelle 454!
Thanks so much buddy. Yeah we are looking at a lot of different options for fuel delivery. Right now we are going to just run the QJ and get a bases line of how the truck is.
Dude, that thing patina with some gloss over it, big stainless plane wing, low and nasty looking with a low grunt cam and some cleanup inside would be slick as snot. Also that GoPro is still good! I still have one that came off my Formula 500 racecar that flew off at T-Hill in Willows at about 100+ did just fine for years after. 👌👍
Cool build,I had a square body crew cab that was the same platform as yours. Mine was a 1990 Choo Choo Custom, apparently GM hadn’t completed all the dies before the end of 89 for the crew cab to go with the 88 changeover body style on the half tons. Your console and interior is the original stuff,mine was the same. Yours have wood grain dash and door accents too? My backseat base slid forward and the rear cushion or back piece layer down flat and it was really good to catch a few hours sleep on,you ought to check and see if yours does too. Best mileage I ever got was 12mpg with the 454,Turbo 400 trans and 4.56 gears. Only problem I ever had was the fuel tank crossover switch on the dash,less than $20 for an oem. BTW there is I believe an identical truck to yours about 10 miles from me at my buddies salvage yard or was there a month ago. Lemme know if you need the contact info for sheet metal or anything.
Get rid of that Rottenchester Quadrajunk and put an Edelbrock 1411 or 1407 carburetor in its place but be sure to replace the intake with an Edelbrock 2161.
I would love to swap my GMC V1500 for a crew cab dually 454. But you just can't justify owning one paying 60€/100km for fuel. Need to find the diesel one
Well ill be dipped, I'm literally doin this to my boss's ford version of this truck! I work at a RV repair and parts store in Alaska. 80's Ford dulley with a 460, manual trans. It used to drive down to the lower 48 and haul cheap RVs back to Alaska. Great vid, lookin forward to more.
One question for you here buddy why didn’t you put that Dullay on the lift?? It will fit I’m pretty sure!! I no we have two challenger lifts in are shop and we put them on either one of are lifts!! We have a 10,000 lb one and a 12,000lb one!!
Love me some LMC. We have bought a few things from them so far and it's been a pretty solid experience. I have not done a dash so far. How is their quality in them?
Dropping a dually crew cab to the ground makes it totally worthless. It's a work truck not a cruiser. Go pimp out your Honda and leave the workhorse alone.
Great truck I had an 85 4dr dually 2wd and I deeply regret selling it anyway now I have an 88 R3500 that is the same truck a 4dr dually camper special serra classic GMC my 85 was a Silverado same exact truck just different color combinations My 88 has that TBI throttle body injection and I need to replace it with a new throttle body TBI or go back to the carburetor of course I'd have to change the intake man. Anyway you truck looks cool enjoy it and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU.
