+InstaCakes Demo used to be a counter too because he could lay stickies at your feet and det them as the taunt ends, but now your uber from taunt lasts JUST long enough to avoid being killed by a group of stickies at your feet.
A neat tactic I use as engineer is to hit your sentry once when he saps it, then engage the spy. It'll give you more time to engage the spy and once he's dealt with just whack the sentry once. This also prevents him from placing another sapper. Also, the recent weapon swap speed buff makes this pretty nifty too.

Degreaser isn't the only flamethrower in Pyro's collection, and the point of this nerf was to make the Degreaser sit back in line and not be the only option. barthvader95 well a demo or soldier should deal with the nests, or at least help the spy out. The spy should get a sapper delay though, of maybe 0,35 seconds or something

Re: Uncle Dane's assessment about the 0.5 second sentry inactivity delay after removing sapper: I must respectfully disagree. I consider this quite a nerf to the Engineer/buff to the sapper, esp. when coupled with the nerf to the Jag, the recently increased damage to sapped buildings from the revolver, or the fact that Spies have an HEADSHOTTING revolver. A Spy can already place sappers faster than an Engineer can remove them, so even prior to Tough Break a lone Engi without support had to deal with the Spy first if he didn't want his building to blow up eventually no matter how many sappers he removes (giving the Spy opportunity for trickstabs or just shooting the Engineer in the face). But previously, you had at least a chance that a Spy who went for a sap-and-stab would get instantly blown up by the sentry just as he stabbed the Engi if the Engi had managed to remove the sapper a fraction of a second before he died. Tough Break update hands all the advantages to the Spy. Let's not even talk about the Red Tape Recorder sapper... at last that one is banned in competitive TF2 last time I checked.
The thing is.. this change will not magically compel Engineers to stop "turtling", on the contrary I feel it will force them to turtle harder. (Which can be boring for the Engineer, but it beats the frustration of seeing your buildings instantly destroyed the moment you turn your back on them.) Dane makes it sound like the Engineer is somehow a big meanie for having sentries and making that poor Spy's life so hard. As if the Spy is entitled to be able to destroy sentries just by turning up. Can't the damn Engineer just leave his buildings undefended? What is next, removing the Pyro from the game?
+TF2CrunchyFrog It was banned due to a glitch which would cause buildings to get a ridiculous amount of health. However, since Valve nerfed the RTR to no end, it's basically a less effective Sapper. It takes like 3 seconds to de-level a Sentry, and an Engineer can remove a Sapper in like 1.5 seconds, so the odds of the Sentry getting de-leveled is low. Using a normal Sapper with a Revolver, you probably could've blown the Sentry up instead of bothering with the De-leveling thing. Since the glitch was fixed, I think it's allowed again, but due to the nerf, it's kinda pointless to even bother.

All they do is post references and name themselves Flowey, Sans, or Papyrus on Steam. I recommend playing it. Just don't become another cancerous idiot spewing overused memes.

Re: Uncle Dane's assessment about the 0.5 second sentry inactivity delay after removing sapper: I must respectfully disagree. I consider this quite a nerf to the Engineer/buff to the sapper, esp. when coupled with the nerf to the Jag, the recently increased damage to sapped buildings from the revolver, or the fact that Spies have an HEADSHOTTING revolver. A Spy can already place sappers faster than an Engineer can remove them, so even prior to Tough Break a lone Engi without support had to deal with the Spy first if he didn't want his building to blow up eventually no matter how many sappers he removes (giving the Spy opportunity for trickstabs or just shooting the Engineer in the face). But previously, you had at least a chance that a Spy who went for a sap-and-stab would get instantly blown up by the sentry just as he stabbed the Engi if the Engi had managed to remove the sapper a fraction of a second before he died. Tough Break update hands all the advantages to the Spy.
Let's not even talk about the Red Tape Recorder sapper... at last that one is banned in competitive TF2 last time I checked.
The thing is.. this change will not magically compel Engineers to stop "turtling", on the contrary I feel it will force them to turtle harder. (Which can be boring for the Engineer, but it beats the frustration of seeing your buildings instantly destroyed the moment you turn your back on them.)
Dane makes it sound like the Engineer is somehow a big meanie for having sentries and making that poor Spy's life so hard. As if the Spy is entitled to be able to destroy sentries just by turning up. Can't the damn Engineer just leave his buildings undefended? What is next, removing the Pyro from the game?
The changes make me really wonder about the persistent rumours about a future "WAR! Spy vs Engineer" update.
+TF2CrunchyFrog It was banned due to a glitch which would cause buildings to get a ridiculous amount of health. However, since Valve nerfed the RTR to no end, it's basically a less effective Sapper. It takes like 3 seconds to de-level a Sentry, and an Engineer can remove a Sapper in like 1.5 seconds, so the odds of the Sentry getting de-leveled is low. Using a normal Sapper with a Revolver, you probably could've blown the Sentry up instead of bothering with the De-leveling thing.
Since the glitch was fixed, I think it's allowed again, but due to the nerf, it's kinda pointless to even bother.
Dispite how overhyped and circlejerked it is, Undertale has some EXCELLENT music!

+Eric Winter (Spud) Well airblasting needed a little nerfing since it was so good at trapping people and the reserve shooter was a bit too strong since it could one shot lower health classes but other than that the pyro wasn't that problematic when it came to being to strong or weak.
