2024 Toyota Tacomas 3,700 off and Toyota still can’t sell them and more 2024 Tacoma horror stories !

- It’s going to take more then 3,700 dollars for these truck to sell I’m just being honest! I’m a huge fan of the new Tacoma but it’s just way to expensive for what you get and now we are starting to major issues with its reliability! I’m on server 2024 Toyota Tacoma Facebook pages and on 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma page I found this thread and other horror stories as well ! Apparently one new owner had 2 not 1 but 2 rear ends go out and after he traded it in for a loss and got a grand highlander ! Here is what happened I copied and pasted the thread ! had the rear end replaced at a thousand miles, 500 miles after I got it back it went out again, come to find out there's a handful of others experiencing the EXACT issues. I got put in three different loaners and ultimately they're "supposedly" working on a recall so they didn't want to replace it again, whines at 71-74 mph which are the speeds I most frequently maintain. They wanted me to start a case with customer care and instead of getting the run around, we traded it in before it lost any real value. Gave me 2k less than I paid, had positive equity going into the grand highlander so it's a win in my book. Wish it would've been a different story though ! rear end differential is what it was diagnosed with and what has already gotten replaced, now bad again

4 cylinder-only kills it for a lot of buyers. Where I live, a $45K price tag + tax, title, license carries it to $50K. On a 7% loan for 60 months, that's $990 a month.

Only gonna get worse,new Toyota CEO has come out and said bottom line entry point price for a bottom of barrel Corolla will be $55 large. Let's be real, Toyota have always been " cheap" cars but,they must be smoking crack in Japan to think Americans in large numbers are gonna pay a house payment for a cheap dependable car. I actually like the new Tacoma I just hate the price and the lack of standard options at the previous generation had. As soon as the Ridgeline gets updated to look like the new Pilot I'll be trading in my gen 1 Ridgeline. Well, after a year in case there's any bugs.
@pkdude5334 if the new Ridgeline continues to be a Pilot with a bed, the bugs would already be worked out considering the new Pilot will have been out a few years by that point...so buying the 1st year is probably safe
Kenny. My first Toyota truck I bought brand new I 1987 for $10,000. I kept it for 22 years with only a carburetor issue. I presently own a 2005 Tundra which I purchased in 2009. I love the qualities baked into Toyotas but due to the massive changes and crazy price increase, I am strongly considering a Frontier.
Since these garbage cans are now made in Mexico AND NOT JAPAN, I won't spend more than 30k for any model.
That's it. Moving production to Mexico saved Toyota big bucks... yet we're supposed to pay MORE for LESS??? 👎🏾

No, I will never buy a new Tacoma that’s built in Mexico, over priced and the lack of a V-6 engine. I’m glad the Nissan Frontier still offers a naturally aspirated V-6 and a King Cab with the rear access doors that Toyota decided to do away with on this new Tacoma. It’s too bad they did away with the rear access doors, it made it easy to get things in and out from behind the front seats. I just don’t know what knucklehead in the Toyota higher ups thought this would be a good idea. Another way I guess to save money but charge us more.

With rates being high in blah blah blah these auto manufacturers got us fucked up with prices like this this economy is going to go down in 🔥 because of Joe Briben! Vehicles are piling up no matter where you go & look. They're going to either keep them or have to discount the shit out of them (previous prices) prices are just too high for trucks people don't want & being made 100% in Mexico is disappointing! Japan USA or bust & my Tacoma was made in Mexico The air conditioning didn't work from the factory and neither did my 4-wheel drive system, well it got stuck in 4-wheel drive & I was not even off-road! Had to be towed to the dealership it was the front diff actuator!

The problem with Toyota is its new leadership. The old guard was loyal to its customers. This new guard is only loyal to money. They dont care about you, but they want your money. That's how it looks to me. They're offering things people don't need in a truck and aren't giving much option to buy a truck without those fancy and expensive add-ons. On top of that, they want you to pay a monthly fee just to use some of those features. No thanks. If i buy a truck, i own all of it and its accessories because im responsible for fixing it if it breaks.

It's not about the issues you may get with the build quality from Mexico, it's the fact that they have them build in Mexico and pay pennies for wages which increases profits, then over price them at MSRP which is also an increase in profits. The dealerships are just greedy with tacking on extras no one would ever ask for at obscene mark ups. Someone tell the dealerships that covid is over. The reason Tacos and Tundras were bullet proof before was because the naturally aspirated engines didn't push the internals to the limit as they were built for reliability and not horsepower. Now they're taking a 4 banger, super charging it, increasing horsepower, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this will reduce the life of the engine that was not designed for it. Check out the Tundras and all their issues now.

Toyota must think we are going to buy anything they shove in front of us. Think again Toyota. Those trucks are going to rot on the lots before we buy a truck thats overloaded with extras that we don't want or need. This includes a small displacement 4 cylinder engine that has to be turbocharged in order to get out of its own way. Turbocharging is for diesels and race cars. Diesels run effectively under 2000 RPM and the turbos are partly lubricated through the exhaust. A normaly aspirated gasoline engine produces its best torque between 2000 and 3500 RPM. A turbo boost gasoline engine produces its best torque well above that range. So, what do you think is going to happen to that turbo engines life compared to a normally aspirated engine? I have looked at the MPG comparisons between the turbo 4 and a normally aspirated v6 and there is very little difference. So my question is what are they thinking?

Kenny, I had an 1986 xtra cab. That's what they called them back then. It had a 2200cc I-4, 5 speed manual transmission. It was a great truck til I wrecked it on Marine drive in Portland in 1990. I want another one... but I am gonna wait a couple years til all the bugs are worked out of this new engine. I am however, leaning to buying a 2025 NX 350 H luxury. Sweet ride and great mileage. I enjoy your vids immensely!

((ALL)) dealerships buy their cars/trucks, they get loans from banks and buy them, they sit in the lots and there's a monthly bill to pay on every vehicle. This is how they can claim 15,000 Tacoma's are sold per month, because the dealerships bought them, not an individual. Mexico sends 15,000 Tacoma's into America per month; I hope this clears up the BS when a dealership lies to you and claims their selling 15,000 per month. Americans aren't buying 15,000 Tacoma's per month, the dealerships are, lol.

Yeah, the one that’s $1000 off has power seats and a rear sliding window and a power outlet. It’s almost fully loaded. Just doesn’t have the ventilated seats with the leather trim or the automatic, lifting tailgate and the camera. Hope this helps my friend that truck is right underneath the fully loaded one.

The new Tacoma TRD pro jumped up 10 grand from last year's 54 grand mark. Then the dealerships will add another 7 to 8 grand markup on the new 2024 tea pro with the hybrid 4 cylinder engine in them.

I would just buy a new Frontier if I wanted a new truck. I like the look of the new Taco but I hate Made in Mexico like I hate Made in China, I hate the turbo 4 banger, I hate the fact the info center depending on the model can block the view out the front window. In some parts of Canada you are on a waiting list for a new Taco, and most city dealer ships jack the truck up, add rims, and bunch of other crap.

The front ends make them all look like basic work trucks and they do not have a set of rims I want. One of the biggest things for me that i use the most is the dual climate thats only standard on the Pro now.

@@littlekennytv5668imo what's hurting Toyota is gm released their turbo 4 first. So they are ahead and already somewhat getting proven. Also GM has a front locker on the zr2. Jeep has a front locker as well. Toyota isn't the king of off-road. On top of that you have ford. Also ahead with their turbo 4. Released first. For those not wanting off-road the Honda pilot still has the Ridgeline with the proven V6. And the Nissan has the proven V6. All of which can be had cheaper or equal to the Toyota. All more proven. It's the first year for this Toyota gen. They'll still sell. But it's a hard sell. Toyota is going hard trying to market these.
The pro and trail hunter is really going to be problematic. The raptor is cheaper and the GM is way cheaper with a front locker. The tacoma just isn't the best deal. And a lot won't be willing to pay more for less capacity on a unproven chassis

I've had a lot of vehicles. I'm on my second Toyota. To be honest I didn't think Toyota was as great as everyone thinks anyway. People conveniently forget Toyotas recalls. And some big ones. I do think Toyotas are good. But no where near the reliability the reputation seems to suggest. In my opinion Toyota won a giant marketing campaign in which they had promoted themselves to be much better than they really were. And a couple generations later the idea of Toyota became somewhat ingrained in society. You can talk to people with broken Toyotas that still say how reliable and great they are. The Toyota culture seems to get Toyota a free pass and less ridicule .
Do I have trust the manager special? Still the same high price comparison of the Chevy Colorado and GMC canyon,

Is the recall even effecting any? All I hear is people bring In the truck then the dealer inspects (looks at) the bolts then the people leave. I've yet to hear of any replacement parts or any real issues just " looks fine".

Unacceptable to build a vehicle in Mexico where you pay less than 1/4 in labor and yet still have the greediness to raise the price. Quality is on par with the states, but Toyota is greedy.
Also, those dumb huge screens they keep on pushing, which add price.
Im refusing to pay that much for a 4 cyl.
I would still buy a 4 cyl mid-size (not a 4 cyl full size like tbe silverado), but for a fair price, which for an SR5 4X4 should be less than $40k OTD.

I feel like yes, it partially has to do that they are made in Mexico but also that toyota greed made them with cheaper material etc.. it's all about the $$$.. and overpriced..
My biggest complaint with the new truck is the price and the lack of some standard options. Now in Toyota’s defense, they did add a lot of new standard options that weren’t on the previous generation I guess they just couldn’t do both. It would’ve cost them too much. When you said long bed. It's 8ft or 6ft? To be cleared: 8ft is long bed, 6ft is standard bed, and short bed is 5ft. One thing I know that Toyota never make any truck Crewmax with long bed 8ft ever. They only make SR5 xtra cab (extended) with long bed 8ft. I wish Toyota make crewmax with long bed 8ft.😔

That’s probably the only place that they are flying off the lot lol 😂 and unfortunately for most of my Canadian friends, they are telling me of horror stories of having to wait over a year and a half just to get a vehicle from Toyota, which makes no sense, and the prices are even higher in some cases, and they don’t even get all of the stuff that we get here in the states just my two cents I love Canada 🇨🇦 thanks for the reply and the feedback my friend have a great day, so do people have to get on a waiting list for the new Tacoma ?
@@littlekennytv5668 I don’t know anyone waiting, but I’m not following that closely. Just looking to upgrade my Tacoma to the new one and when I find one to go take a look at, it’s usually gone by the time I get there. Tundra sticks around the lots, but not the Tacomas.
@Jack908r and to be fair the smaller markets the trucks do fly off the lots ! In my opinion, the Tacoma is still the best midsize pick up truck ! But you now have the Ranger and the Colorado kicking up dust but I’m a huge Toyota fan so I don’t think I could buy a raptor ranger maybe if it was more raptor and less ranger lol thanks again for the feedback and the reply my friend good luck these trucks look awesome and I have test driven them and I think they drive good. Hopefully they will last as long as all the other Toyota trucks before this one
Kenny, what a fare wage for an unskilled auto worker in Mexico? The cost of living is about half of what it is here in the US. My daughter went to med school in the PNW and let me tell you the cost of living there is stupid crazy compared to South Texas. What do you to for a living? What ever it is I sure it pays more than the same job here and mexico.
@@littlekennytv5668 Competition landscape has changed for the better for sure. I also looked at the frontier, and the canyons. Ranger pricing up here is just stupid, so hard no on that. GMC was nice but again higher priced. Not as bad as the ranger, but still. Love my tacoma, but not married to it. If I find better value / reliability I'll go for it. Happy to see the competition step it up though, as we're the ones to benefit.

Yeah, they only had first edition and the 1958 edition on the lot which one of each was sold ! So they had 3 I believe total 2 first edition and one 1958 Edition!

Toyota is dedicated to going EV again people don’t want it these companies like the Lantis are going to force it on people. And you know what we’re gonna do? Fix up and completely redo if necessary are old trucks. Hell of a lot cheaper and better vehicles.and private companies will pop up to replace any parts that the original OEM manufacturer won’t produce anymore.
