Whenever Republicans talk about "our country" its important to remember that they're not talking about the same things as the rest of us. Seth has been hitting his stride all year. I love all the goofy self-effacing comedy. The playing off of jokes that are niche along with the reinduction of the audience into the madness and how self conscious Seth now seems in front of them. Its all been quite comedy gold this year.
His only audience feedback has been the merciless youtube comment section. I get why he'd be self conscious. I'm sure he's just waiting for the audience to be full of jackals waiting to correct him live during a recording.

It's become the best show in late night because Seth is clearly comfortable with it now - it had a rocky start at the beginning, but the fact that he has an air of not really taking it seriously and seems like he genuinely enjoys it and is having fun just makes it so much more entertaining to watch. And getting the staff involved over the pandemic and embracing the cheesyness just amplifies that like a hundred times.
