St. Elmo is my favorite ghost town. My family had a house not far down Chalk Creek. I've likely been up there 25 times, but not in the last 30 years. Looks like some of St. Elmo has been spruced up. For a long time, they had a marvelous pile of boards there. The pile was populated by a thousand chip monks. You could buy feed from the general store. The chipees would come out to you, climb in your palm and eat out of your hand.-a favorite for 3 to 83 year old's. Great ride up higher to Tin Cup, but very bumpy. I am soooo homesick!
Really enjoyed the history again, you do these videos so well Nikki. Oh that really put me on edge when Camper was reacting to something he was sensing/seeing and then you got towards it to find out what it was - you are so strong. I love the way you get woken up by your gorgeous fur babies and Rodney playing by himself was so cute x
Hi Nichol, I'm Native American. I'm really happy for you. That you been the gift of seeing. Nothing to be afraid of if you walk with Creator or in the light. 😊
Pro Tip : When I owned my motor home, I created a bunch of small Red Flags (out of red cardboard) that I'd hang from the gear shift lever. Each flag had a different hazard/topic printed on it. - Obstacles - Height hazard - Gear outside - leveling blocks - Utilities connected (water hose, electrical, drain) - Antenna (roof antenna extended) These literal RED FLAGs on the gear shift reminded me of each specific concern or hazard before moving the motor home. It helped me avoid a lot of damaged and lost items.
If you painted each item with bright fluorescent paint or used marker flags on each would that also be a great reminder that oh I forgot sumtin. They would be very visible that's for sure. Use hot pink 🤣😂🤣
Awesome video as always Nikki, Camper and R.V. Nikki you need to put a sign on your dashboard to remind you to pick up your leveling blocks. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
Ghosts towns are so cool you can step back in time and wonder what life was like back then and what happened. Also you are one crazy brave girl going in to that cemtary. Wow what a crazy scary story be safe and be careful. Safe travels see ya next week
I come here to raise my vibration, and escape from the politics and fear running amok in this beautiful country. Let us chill and take in these gorgeous views and feel better. Thank you for your positive strength.
I was thinking the exact same thing! I feel so happy after watching Nikki D videos because she has such a fun, free spirit - and her camping adventures remind me of all the countless, wonderful camping trips I've been fortunate to have experienced. Politics is so, so very depressing - good to raise the ol' vibration once in a while
Politicians have little impact on our lives. Unless said Politician is giving out trillion dollar handouts then that will eventually make our lives more difficult. Regardless, enjoy your life and don't stress over what you can't control.
@@tbuff91 What an ignorant statement, politicians make decisions that affect the price of gas and everything you buy. They make decisions that change the dollar's value on the world stage.
Nikki - you've probably already heard this suggestion, BUT, put something over/on your steering wheel (shirt, leash, sock, snap wristband, etc) anything that you'll have to move before you drive away to remind you that your leveling blocks are out. Thanks for letting us join your jorney 😁🦮🐕
Good Day Nikki...What a video! Where to start?..Envious that ghosts/spirits get to "live" in such a beautiful location, the mountains, the creeks, the trees. A gorgeous area to haunt. And the town's history, that list of how and when the residents died, really interesting. We think we have it so tough today. You were lucky if you lived past the age of 40 in those days. Also, it was amazing to see how attuned Camper was in the cemetery, protecting you Nikki, no doubt, from whatever was out there. We can learn a lot from our dogs(pets). They see, sense so much more than we do. But Nikki don't underestimate your ability, your intuition. I'm no expert on supernatural happenings but I believe. I guess you can only keep an open mind about things you don't understand?. And you always seem to be a person who radiates good, positive energy, which in turn will come back on you tenfold. Thanks Nikki.. Steve.. PS. Speaking of Steve..To the Iron City campground host, so helpful, courteous, probably a very good-looking gentleman & drives a nice car... A shout-out to you Steve!.

Some time ago, when I use to fly, it was standard procedure to do a "walk around" of the plane to look for things that might be broken or need to be connected or disconnected. I do the same thing when I trail my boat. I treat is like an airplane. I walk from the front of the truck to the back of the boat and trailer, checking to make sure lights are working or the trailer is properly hitched along with making sure the boat is properly strapped to the trailer and so on. You should establish a walk around routine for your truck camper. Make it a habit. As always, enjoying your vids.
Thanks so much Nikki it was a pleasure hanging out with you on the beautiful adventure and I really was so taken back by the sure beauty of the whole area also I want to thank you for the history lesson because I’m a big history buff also I truly love seeing how you do certain things inside your 4x4 camper because it brings back a lot of great memories for me but what’s nice about your camping setup is you have better technology than when I was camping I guess you could just call me old fashioned another thing is see you with your wonderful dogs and seeing how happy you are really brightens my day, so until next time I’ll see you on the next great adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
Hahaha I whispered a little "yesss" and put my fist up when you remembered the levelers😅cause I know how good it feels to remember something you often forget! Sorta piggybacking onto other commenters here. At some of my stops as a trucker, we are required to chock our wheels and I am noTORIOUS for forgetting the remove the chocks (and it's really not cool to roll over them!). So I keep a thing of the tiny flag post-its and I just write the word "CHOCKS" on it and stick it over the odometer on the dash. I never forget them when I do that!! Thanks for another great video, this really helps me escape from the darkness that's enveloped our country and I look forward to it every week!

Lived in Colorado for 22 years and 10 of those in Leadville. St.Elmo was always a fun day trip or weekend. Forgot about the campground up there but there are a ton of options nearby if full. Great adventure!
I appreciate your cleanliness and bug prevention on the road. I'm known for my tent zipper policy and organization - even when backpacking for weeks at a time. Some may say I'm zealous about it actually.
That town seemed so peaceful! I love places that aren’t super crowded. Your story was a very spooky experience, and I’m glad the ghost lady was only observing and didn’t feel disturbed by you guys. Yes! It’s pretty nice up there! I went maybe 7 years ago the first time and it’s very developed and restored compared to what I remembered! Thank you!!! ❤️
Loved the ghost town visit. Camper saw something but probably another animal, and yes two dogs are better than one, I grew up having two and they always kept each other company.
Nikki , tape a reminder to yourself about checking All around your Home , where you will see it , like your steering wheel ! Or your door. Have fun and stay safe !

Thumbs up for the ghost hunting again, Tonopah, NV is even creepy when you get gas there. Virginia City, NV also has ghosts that is just as fun to make your hair standup. Good food also and candy.
I lived in Key West 2 winters in 2000 and 2001--worked at the Audubon House--I didn't see ghosts but saw and heard spirits--we were closing up one night, I did the 3rd floor, another did the second floor, and we both did the first floor--we started walking to the office, noticed a light on the 2nd floor, went to check, the front door was open and the light was on--spooky cause we know we turned everything off and locked the door
Hey Nikki ,Camper an Rodney .I too love delving into the spiritual world when it comes to me i dont necessary go looking for it ,it sometimes comes to me so I go with the flow ,one experience i had was in my home ,with someone walking down my passage way with wooden floors heard the toilet flush ,and back up the passage way to the bedrooms ,my partner and i where the only ones home and together in the same room watching Tv, my cats at the time ran and hid under the lounge ,also a very tall man dressed in a long black coat and a Boller hat stood at the side of my bed I screamed and he left ,weird but true I never felt threatened or scared after it ,anywho i love your ghostly contents .OMGosh YOU SERIOULY have the most gorgeous boys you are all very blessed to have found each other🤗💫🙏sending lots love and Blessings to your guys .Stay safe Stay Alert and most importantly Be Happy God Bless🙏💞❤
I'm a paranormal investigator. I loved that story about the ghost you saw. I've seen a few, and also demons. Dogs and also cats are great on investigations. We've used them in the past. They can pick up a lot. I've also seen animal spirits. Loved your clown motel video.
How cool ,I have only seen one ghost in my house ,but heard alot of activity they come and go😁 but I dont feel scared we have learned to live with it 😂
I would attach a Big colored sign to the Levelers that reads "Don't forget Levelers". Then whenever you get them out, stick the sign to the middle of your steering wheel.
Another rv wilflife open category compilation documentary PSA how to video by Nikki D! One of my biggest fears is getting trapped inside a forrest fire line. And thats how i treat my fires before and after i build them. For those around me.
Just found your channel Nikki ❤ You're pretty awesome 😊 You're doing what most people would love to do and having fun doing it 😊 Love the boys too❤ Be safe out there😊
Nikki, been watching your world traveling videos and I was floored to see you in Colorado. I retired (from US Army) in Colorado just to see this part of the country. Live in Falcon right outside Colorado Springs. Been all over the world but barely in Western United States. Always looking for new places to explore with my daughter (she’s 11) in tow, and you’ve given me some new places to check out in Colorado. St Elmo is on the top of the list now. Been to a couple of ghost towns but none intact like St Elmo. Looking forward to more of your travels in the Rockies. Be Safe.
Holy cow. I went to that place after you featured it. We were in that house, chatting about that story, then my dog started barking at someone in the hallway, gave us the chills...shoots...
Hi. Wandering Girl. Funny how Camper thinks it's time for him to drive. My cockapoo Cinco insisted on getting behind my back while I was seat belted in behind the wheel, just so she could be near me and look out the window...She obviously got stuck and I had to pull over and rearrange the dogs and eventually got a full size truck so Everybody was happy...Dogs make us better people, they're so honest about life, and endlessly fun. Even at the most saddest times in my life...my dogs made it absolutely bearable!!! Wish me Happy Birthday today, 19 July... TAKE CARE You guys are livin' IT.
That's awesome 👍 I love exploring Colorado back country 🙏 I live in Denver and been a fan of your channel since day one -- how fun and cool it would have been to have been able to meet you and the doggies 😊
Hi Nikki. Love your show. One of my dogs who generally goes crazy when he sees dogs on TV doesn’t with Camper and Rodney. Together we watch your show. He loves it too. I live in Utah and was fascinated when you came through. You covered places I never knew about but will be traveling to now. Keep it up. Thqnks.
So I have a memory tip for your levelers. Set your phone alarm for the am of day you are leaving. I do that for things I am not “thinking” about but really need to remember-you can set a note on your keys-when we get busy we aren’t thinking about things like levelers . It’s just because we are busy that we forget these things.
Another great video !! I agree if you are camping please make sure that the fire is completely out- so many forest animals die unnecessarily because of human error . Nothing better than having dogs as your companions on the road . Can’t wait to see you next adventure ❤
On Monday, my best friend and shadow, a boxer mastiff mix rescue that I've had for the last 10 years named Max, passed away. So, when I saw you posted a new video, I was excited to see Camper and Rodney. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Hi Nikki thank you for several years of great videos and dog love. I've had similar experiences of seeing things and it's interesting and cool as long as you cover yourself with the white divine light and ask for protection to avoid things attaching themselves to you. Don't hesitate to let spirits know they can go to the light at any time and will be received with unconditional love. Love the interest you have in these types of sites just take good care of you.
I was going to suggest going to Ouray while in Colorado. That Million Dollar highway scenery is amazing. I’m over on Hwy 145 below Telluride near Lizard Head. I went down the Million Dollar Highway 3 weeks ago but couldn’t stop and camp. Going back next week to stay several nights along the way. I’m trying to stay in this cool air in this big circle from Ridgeway down to Durango over to Cortez / Dolores up Hwy 145 to Telluride back up to Ridgeway. The mountains around 10,000 are just getting a little warmer. Oh, visit TELLURIDE if you get a chance. Elk are usually in the pastures leading into Telluride. I’ve seen about 90 at a time out there.
I love how Camper gets so excited when you head inot campgrounds. Your boys are too cute!! Old cemetaries always make me feel thankful for modern medicine. Some people died of things we don't deal with anymore. I had a hard time watching your clown video since it was pretty creepy. But I love your ghost and history stuff. Keep it coming! Happy trails!🐾
Put a spare leveller on the dashboard, in front of the steering wheel, when you level up the van. That way, you'll instantly remember to pick them up when you leave.
I live in Montrose, CO. It's been super hot here too. I work in a super awesome pet food store called Chow Down. You'd love it. Have fun in Colorado it's an AWESOME state, especially the West Slope :)
Ah, you're heading to Ouray!!! I was there about this time last year. LOVED it! I have a video walking up to Cascade Falls, where I went the wrong way and it was VERY dangerous! 😱 But.... SOOOO beautiful!!!! 🥰
You are not crazy, I've seen my fair share of ghosts, a shadow person up close & personal & even have a Pic with several ghosts in it. I love the paranorma! Be careful, you may have an attachment, give your van a smudge & yourself too, clear the energy away. 😉 ❤
Yup, it's 9,961 feet elevation . . .Now, you went from Colorado Highway 285, and turned West onto Colorado 162. Went about 12 miles west (give or take) and you passed the 4-wheel vehicle road up to Mount Antero (named for an American Indian Chief),. That road is the highest elevation 4-wheel vehicle road in the contiguous United States. Note, you must get a Colorado OHV tag to drive off road in Colorado (OHV means Off Highway Vehicle). Next, regarding the cemetery, there are several interments from the 1970s, and one grave that is dated 2008(!) in the cemetary. YES, camped there overnight on Sept. 20-21, 2024. Brisk and cool, Aspens turning yellow .. .. gorgeous!!
Ma'am, I am from India and want to express my gratitude. Your TH-cam videos have inspired me to start solo traveling. Thank you for motivating me and giving me the confidence to explore the world independently.
I've listened to thousands of paranormal stories, most common theme is once you look at the phenomenon it tends to look back. Spirited attachment is certainly real as far as I'm concerned! If things get worse, consult a spirit medium or head to church!
Pro Tip : When I owned my motor home, I created a bunch of small Red Flags (out of red cardboard) that I'd hang from the gear shift lever. Each flag had a different hazard/topic printed on it.
- Obstacles
- Height hazard
- Gear outside
- leveling blocks
- Utilities connected (water hose, electrical, drain)
- Antenna (roof antenna extended)
These literal RED FLAGs on the gear shift reminded me of each specific concern or hazard before moving the motor home. It helped me avoid a lot of damaged and lost items.
If you painted each item with bright fluorescent paint or used marker flags on each would that also be a great reminder that oh I forgot sumtin. They would be very visible that's for sure. Use hot pink 🤣😂🤣

Yeeeeaaaaaah…. You knew what you were doin with that thumbnail image.
Another rv wilflife open category compilation documentary PSA how to video by Nikki D! One of my biggest fears is getting trapped inside a forrest fire line. And thats how i treat my fires before and after i build them. For those around me.
Just found your channel Nikki ❤ You're pretty awesome 😊 You're doing what most people would love to do and having fun doing it 😊 Love the boys too❤ Be safe out there😊
To keep cool with waterjugs, put water + cotton together in the jugs and freeze it, be amazed how long it stay's frozen!!!
Cotton balls? Piece of cotton material?
Happy travels & be safe,Nikki❤💚💙
You get to see such beautiful places
Nikki, been watching your world traveling videos and I was floored to see you in Colorado. I retired (from US Army) in Colorado just to see this part of the country. Live in Falcon right outside Colorado Springs. Been all over the world but barely in Western United States. Always looking for new places to explore with my daughter (she’s 11) in tow, and you’ve given me some new places to check out in Colorado. St Elmo is on the top of the list now. Been to a couple of ghost towns but none intact like St Elmo. Looking forward to more of your travels in the Rockies. Be Safe.
Ouray is beautiful! I love the mountains!
Holy cow. I went to that place after you featured it. We were in that house, chatting about that story, then my dog started barking at someone in the hallway, gave us the chills...shoots...
YOU SHOWERING IS MY FAV PART😁 J/K YOU GUY'S ROCK🎸
Happy dogs, happy, happy, happy dogs.
Happy birthday Sweety!❤ 😊
Love your little friends. So sweet.
Public service announment 😂. Love that you left that in there. Great videos Nikki. 👍🏼
That's awesome 👍 I love exploring Colorado back country 🙏 I live in Denver and been a fan of your channel since day one -- how fun and cool it would have been to have been able to meet you and the doggies 😊
Love that area, its so beautiful
Same!!!
In the winter I snowmobile out of St Elmo back to tin cup or Hancock pass super fun winter area!
Hi Nikki and boys I love all your videos have a wonderful weekend ❤
You did good , again , looks steady ahead, looking forward to another adventure, as always.
Hi Nikki, Camper, Rodney! You are so brave going to a ghost town! Have fun!👻🤠
You just need a preflight checklist and make it part of the process. Great adventure. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Another great video !! I agree if you are camping please make sure that the fire is completely out- so many forest animals die unnecessarily because of human error . Nothing better than having dogs as your companions on the road .
Can’t wait to see you next adventure ❤
Nikki, really enjoyed your video!🙂
Awesome to see you are doing great! Living the life girl.
On Monday, my best friend and shadow, a boxer mastiff mix rescue that I've had for the last 10 years named Max, passed away. So, when I saw you posted a new video, I was excited to see Camper and Rodney. Thanks for sharing them with us.
❤
Sorry for the loss of your best friend Max.. I have a boxer pitt mastiff mix who is 9 and he is such a Grammy's boy.. love him so much.
@@seventhdayissabbath8747 Max lived to be 13 years old. He was a huge lap dog. These extra-large mixed breed dogs are often the most adorable IMO.
@@McNevetsII Agreed!! They are the most loving adorable dogs who think they own your lap!!
Check out Kirwin, ghost town in Wyoming. Old mining town.
Great watch as always 👊🏿
Two dogs are wonderful, double the fun, double the laughs❤❤
I love how Camper gets so excited when you head inot campgrounds. Your boys are too cute!!
Old cemetaries always make me feel thankful for modern medicine. Some people died of things we don't deal with anymore.
I had a hard time watching your clown video since it was pretty creepy. But I love your ghost and history stuff. Keep it coming!
Happy trails!🐾
Put a spare leveller on the dashboard, in front of the steering wheel, when you level up the van. That way, you'll instantly remember to pick them up when you leave.
Another great video. Maybe that ghost you saw figured out who you were and said,”Oh, it’s her”.
He doesn't read the comments anymore FYI.
ST Elmo is very cool. I know someone who did alot of metal trim work on that Bed and Breakfast there.
But....
