The point of being authentic is SO important! I believe you'll never achieve true success if you're not being true to yourself. You might achieve a certain level of status, or financial comfort, but you wouldn't even recognize that success because you're so busy pretending to be someone you're not. This is what I learned from Reed Hastings. :) You have to be authentic... Get comfortable with yourself, your strenghts and weaknesses and care, at your core, about what is good for the company. If you dummyproof the process, you only get dummies to work. We realized what we really care about is working with incredibly talented people on hard problems. We're not trying to preserve the culture, we're trying to make it better. It's only when you struggle to get better that you really keep it alive and fresh.
