The comfort issues are real, its ugly, and storing it in dust covers is a bit irritating, but that f-ing cable…. The sub-bass issue you encountered might be a track specific issue as the Sonoma employs a degree of DSP - a while back I had a weird issue with one of my tracks playing really soft (out of the 1000s that I tried). I fixed it by downloading it again from another source. While the silver version of the Bravura system does cost $6000, I think its actually good value considering the timbre, clarity and especially the resolution of the system. I honestly didn't find the cable that bad (slight micro-phonics, but nothing excessive) but the length will irk some people for sure.
All planners and electrostats sucks on bass due to low excursion. If you keep bass on low you can hear instrumental more clear that's the thing company implementing on these planner and electrostats. But we shouldn't be fool for it.
How do you define "sucks at bass" tho... Cause heres the thing. Electrostatic headphones are measurably & significantly lower in distortion than any other speaker design even at bass frequencies. By nature speakers will always suffer at the ultra low end and high end of the spectrums when it comes to distortion. E-stats dont have the same bass characteristics as a dynamic driver then it comes to bass output but they do have the edge when it comes to bass distortion. So at this point its more important to understand what metric your preferences are geared toward. And While the FR shows a flatter bass shelf it doesnt typically mean that it sucks imo, in fact typically i dont really want anything more than a +3db bass rise sub 300hz, i typically like things that sound flat cause its tonal accuracy. In bass frequencies we can see that its compliant w/ preference target even until 50hz which is plenty, it just doesnt have compliance into the subbass region, but even so the roll off isnt terrible its only 6db down which is sill more like a roll off than a "Fall off" meaning that there is still signal produced at that region.

It's worth noting that any analogue signal input to Warwick amp goes through an additional A-D conversion, so that the internal DSP can "obtain the desired response." It's difficult to find more detail about more specifics, but I suspect that at the least, Warwick is EQ'ing the frequency response ("neutral" FR noted but unable to do enough for sub-bass). In such cases, usually what suffers is dynamic headroom and possibly a bit of purity of sound is lost (compared to non-DSP'd version).

I find this misinformative. First of all unfortunately analog inputs at the back DON’T allow for rolling different dac into it because it gets converted back to digital and played back through Sonoma dac again Second, Warwick stuff runs on much much higher bias voltage than stax. Presumably allowing them to redevelop electrostatic tech and mitigate its drawbacks. Either way I wouldn’t complain there’s no adapter Third, what (truly) high end system could you create with 7000$? But often times better than master of one
"you have to buy the dac as well" is an instant no-go for me.
too bad i cant use it with my apple dongle
Monseniour Valour,
I have already directly suggested to Warwick that they release a version of the Bravura that is compatible with standard electrostatic "engergizers" (such as my iFi Phantom).
Let's wait and see!
Sounds nice but will not play loud without huge distortion as verified by the manufacturer and I'm talking about female vocals not metal. Disappointing at the price.
Sorry that’s not true until you hear far beyond 110 and that’s sick. I’m a progressive metal nerd with death metal and trash metal vibes and owner of a bravura and I swear heavy metal is amazing with this set. it’s an amazing system for people who wants a small footprint great sound. I owned every Stax before (oo9, 700, Omega,300,500,007 mk1) and nothing comes close to bravura’s. it’s not for the techno or electronic listener but they shine with all other genres.
Imagine a stereo speaker system you could have for $7000.
Please just mention the price at the beginning, why should I watch a video about such an expensive headphone which is unobtainable for a tiny amount of people.
nice headphones bro.
That's an UNDERSTATEMENT.
@@TheVeganVicar a bit ig
I've heard all these at Amsterdam. my favorite headphone was The Composer and E3, left all of it in dust.
Composer was nothing special for me. just boring with no timbre no soundstage.
@@Ande313 whaat, it was dead accurate in timbre and tonality to me i thought it was some sort of magical planar nothing like a dynamic. there was weight in every note unlike focal and sennheiser. however for that style and build quality i can give like $1250 max. def not $2.300 pair.
Yep I'll stick to my Audeze LCD2's and Sennheiser HD650

I find this misinformative. First of all unfortunately analog inputs at the back DON’T allow for rolling different dac into it because it gets converted back to digital and played back through Sonoma dac again
Second, Warwick stuff runs on much much higher bias voltage than stax. Presumably allowing them to redevelop electrostatic tech and mitigate its drawbacks. Either way I wouldn’t complain there’s no adapter
Third, what (truly) high end system could you create with 7000$? Susvara you’re left with 1k for dac/amp. Other cheaper flagships are still 4-5k and there wouldn’t be enough left for sources that are equally high end. In the context the price can be seen as very reasonable for a one and done system
The moment i switchwd to another Video, when you dropped 7000 dollar price, cya
Nice review, though I stopped the video at $7000 entry point. Ouch.

Bro. . . . Just let that hair go. Either that or you gotta get rid of them baby patches up front my guy
Agreed as a bald man myself it sucks but you gotta let it go.
@@WyattOShea yea and I don’t see why people are so clingy to it bro. Going bald is not a bad look at all. It’s clean looking. Shit I have a full head of hair and always go no guard becuz it’s easy to maintain and it just looks clean
Or just don’t make a judgement about people’s appearance on the internet? Has literally zero bearing on the video.
@@countbowl I saw it more as constructive criticism personally.

Shangri La Mini is so much better guys
never ever. Bravura is even better than a Shangri La senior and I heard them all.
@@Ande313 Play the Song " Demi Moore from Phoebe Bridgers " and then we can talk again . The bravura literally dies due to the crazy distortions . When I showed it Martin Roberts he died in shame together with his engineering team . Like for real it was the most uncomftable moment for them ever experienced . They thought their unit was broken 😂
2-7k$.. sure..
no, thanks.. not even serious
$ 2,395 🤔🤔
all the monolingual folks in the comments complaining about his "Warwick" pronunciation are funny as hell. People will tear your ass up over the dumbest things. It's crazy lmao
Raal Immanis is probably better than this
I would never buy one as its overpriced
it’s normal priced for the HiFi world you get amazing sound and a system which includes headphones amp dac. so it’s expensive for sure but as an owner for 3 years(had the original Sonoma headphones before bravura’s) it’s a pleasure listening to music. and that’s all what counts for me.
The second w in Warwick is silent. Also it’s ‘than’ not ‘then’. Please stop
This is trolling right?
🤓☝️
Must be hard to walk with that stick up your ass
lmao learn to pronounce Warwkick
£6,000+...
Not for nothing but I don't even care that this exists because I'll never be able to sniff the kind of money required to freely spend on headphones this expensive.
I'd rather see 99% videos on £200-£1500 range equipment
