- Edit: I doubt much of this is valuable anymore, the game continues to be mangled with each update and the mouse input is still not functioning correctly. I have mostly given up and moved on from this game and suggest you do the same.
Sorry the video is a bit quick and dirty I just wanted to get it out there, but we just confirmed this mouse input fix live with 600 viewers to test and everyone is now getting a consistent 360 distance with their sensitivity. To clarify I believe the only bugged area may be ADS and it is looking like one or all of “Aiming Left/Right Acceleration, Vertical Aim Ratio, and Vertical Zoom Ratio” settings under On Foot in Controller were the problem now that people have reported back.
I've seen a lot of comments mentioning how I say to turn off USA and it is on in my settings. Forgot to loop back around and mention to re-enable it after changing the in-game settings. My bad on that one, sorry this was just thrown together quickly live. I'm assuming that it probably doesn't make a difference whether you do this or not, but it was suggested by my chat which got me digging and changing those vertical stick ratios/aim assist settings that are more likely to be the culprit here. Regardless, following this order of operations has fixed the input for myself along with hundreds of others testing with actual measurements and the Kovaaks 360 program that was unable to perform a single consistent spin in ADS before this. Thanks!
UPDATE: As of 11/29/21 the input is noticeably worse even with these changes. I'm not sure if it was a recent update or what but I am in the same boat as you if you're input feels terrible still. We REALLY need a fix from DICE ASAP at this point. This isn't a small bug, it is gamebreaking.
The in-game sliders are also inaccurate so change the respective settings in the PROFSAVE_profile files located at C:\Users\"USER"\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings to be sure everything is good to go.

I don’t know about “saved” but this is hopefully a step in the right direction. I think mechanically the game could see a lot of changes (toning down the spread in the base game significantly, speeding up the movement with these size of maps) but those are DICE’s design choices. We will just have to see how the community reacts in these early phases and how the balance shifts as per usual with a new game.
@@Baranox Yes they definitely can, but let's remember they actually made the gunplay and movement worse compared to the beta. DICE usually takes 1 step in the right direction and 4 steps backwards.
I honestly don't think the game is playable right now and I've refunded, i'll reconsider it again in 4-6 months when it will cost half the price prolly. I'm sick of wasting my time in a franchise that focuses only on casual gameplay. That's what happens when developers are clueless and take feedback from the wrong souces (like reddit)

Thank you so much, I was messing with the settings since beta and couldn‘t get it to feel like the other battlefields or get a responsive feeling, was telling my friends that there has to be some acceleration ongoing as aiming always felt like turning a tank turret
Bro thank you so much!!! The sens felt so trash that it was literally unplayable for me. Now it feels much better. I feel like they did pc player dirty on purpose because they knew we would be rolling console players and they would be complaining about crossplay

This actually has a pretty significant difference. My aim always feel off in 2042 since beta, and I felt my tracking is significant worse in this game, and my mouse is not very responsive. After this tweak, I can mainting a much better spread when shooting full auto.

Nice man! Additionally i just took my sens settings from Bf4 and now the aiming feels much more familiar, even though you certainly feel the input lag difference.
Yeah this gets you about 90% of the way but there’s still something fundamentally wrong going on here. As far as I know there’s no fix found for the “laggy” input feel. Hoping DICE has something for us.

Hip fire aim sensitivity setting (GstInput.MouseSensitivity) in this game is totally fucked up - it is not linear, but some curve is applied to it while changing it from min to max value.
I did measurements, and came up with these values, for 3200 DPI:
{{11.3, 0.006000},{13.1, 0.004500},{15.6, 0.003000},{19.2, 0.001500},{24.9, 0.000000},{72.3,-0.003275}}
Where {{x,y}} - x is cms/360 and y is value of GstInput.MouseSensitivity. -0.003275 corresponds to -2.2 in UI, which is impossible to set manually, of course.
If you will run this values through Wolfram Alpha, you will see that the resulting curve is nothing but linear. You also can delete the last value, cause it is to far from rest of measurements, and Wolfram Alpha freaks out because of it, but even without it, hip fire sensitivity graph is still a curve and not a line.
This game franchise is run and developed by incompetent idiots, who has no idea what they are doing. And this goes on for a long time, I noticed that sensitivity is fucked up starting from BFBC2 in 2009 (although at that time I had no idea how to measure and analyze it properly).

This is kind of a related question and I struggled with this playing BF5 as well. I watched several videos on mouse sense for that game as well. I had thought the overall goal was to get ADS and hipfire sensitivity to match each other.
I've tried to follow numerous videos exactly to get the settings, including this one, and my ads inches/360 is nearly 1.5x the hip sensitivity. Am I missing something here? My mouse is set to 1450 dpi in Razer settings, if that matters.

Hey man nice video... i see that you have uniform soldier aiming on with the cooefficient at 178 but you stated to turn that off. Was that a mistake on your end and should uniform soldier aiming be turned on??? Thanks again for your video.

I'm on mouse and keyboard and cannot bind keys to my mouse. I always use the middle mouse button for Reload but simply cannot bind it and in fact when I try, the mouse column reads a controller key to clear the bind so I'm unable to clear the bind as well.

If anyone is still having issues where the gun feels like it cannot keep up with fast movements and continues moving even when you take your hand away from the mouse, you have to turn down the polling rate of your mouse. I had to turn my down from 8k to 125 in order for it to feel normal.

Soldier Mouse Aim Sensitivity is somehow not the same as BFV for me, all the same settings (FOV). Value 10 in BFV is like value 19 in BF2042

i only now saw this video but i can safely say this fix is still a thing. i just feel more consistent and finally able to flick/snap on people/manage aggressive recoils

In the options menu, does the blue or black colour mean the option is selected? Because when he says "disable Universal Soldier aiming", it looks like it's still on.

Ok so quick question not in relation to the video what's your sens/dpi I watched this the first time and was just beyond confused and laughing because of how you flick and move the mouse if it's high low or somewhere in the middle and now I'm just curious after coming back to implement this fix
I'm just very enamoured with how you hold and flick your mouse almost holding it above the desk at points and being accurate

Hey no problem, just happy to see it’s helping 1000’s of people before we get a proper patch. As far as my settings go I’m pretty notorious for changing my sens and dpi frequently. My aim looks pretty much the same regardless of sens, it’s just a unique style that I’ve created and found to be effective for me. I’m normally somewhere between 10-41cm/360, and around 22 these days and in the little random snippet here.
@@Baranox lol I do the same thing jumping my sens around a lot and I feel it I've focused more on the actual mechanics of aiming and found my sens mattered a lot less than I thought and kinda jump around as well just was curious since I enjoy trying new styles and incorporating them into my own slightly if I enjoy aspects when I try them out appreciate the response.
@@tsukiortu Well since that’s one of the best replies I’ve ever heard from someone asking about my aim I’ll give you some more details since I think you will actually put it to good use lol. The main thing going on is just aggressive mouse resets. By constantly resetting my mouse to a comfortable position, my hand stays in its “home” location more so when I do encounter a target I’m able to start aiming from a spot I’m best at moving from or around. The other benefit is that it just saves a ton of time scanning overall. It’s hard to watch as a viewer, but once you are used to it you only need to look at a spot for a couple frames to get the information you need on whether something is there. Apart from that, there’s really not a lot more going on that I can think of. Hopefully that gives you some helpful insight, anything else feel free to come inquire about on stream. I’m always happy to talk mechanics!
@@Baranox I remember hearing from a interview with a pro Valorant player a long while ago about how he does that style of flick scanning because in his view his eyes flick around and don't move smoothly so his view should as well to scan better and was in the process of testing that out more. I've heard of resetting to a home position but never really fully put it into practice I may have to mess around with it a bit more to see if it helps me out a bit more because I do understand how that could help. Really appreciate the talk gave me some more ideas to mess with. Recently I've been working on putting some of Aimer7's HEURISTIC ABOUT GEOMETRIC POSITIONING AND APPLICATIONS ideas into practice as well they've been helping a bit I don't always fully agree with everything Aimer7's guides have said but I enjoy seeing other viewpoints to incorporate some ideas into my own style. I've also been playing with his ideas on movement in game definitely two cool reads for anyone into aiming.
