Terrific presentation Dr DV ! Rising PSA?...Get a 3T MRI with rectal coil...for targeted biopsy. URO MDs always giving the CANCER scare talk. Patients must consult with Rad Onco MD to see those options. LDBrachy needle sticks are not painful with propofol & tylenol...walked out of surg ctr 2 hrs later (not in tatters).
I was never given these options. I think that TURP should be stopped and Urinary Stints should be put into the prostate to prevent regular hourly peeing.
My question to you Doctor Vespini is How do doctors find out if one has prostate cancer in the first place? I was 25% cancer in the left lobe of my prostate and NO ONE told me I had cancer. I was just told I needed to have my prostate removed. This has left me impotent since.
my question to you Dr Vesprini after doing brachytherapy how long can it last before going into cancer more or less how many years can it last thanks Italo
Current cancer treatments will in years to come be looked upon as barbaric by oncologists and of course patients. Radiation was used over 100 years ago and though there is much more finesse in its current application ,it still has terrible after and side effects for the patients. All concerned will be so much happier if and when other less destructive treatments are available. Roll on the research.
Ask why they don’t mention HIFU. One treatment, i’m 6 years cancer free. Don’t forget with radiation there is a good chance of cancer in the bladder or colon in a few years.
