I started flying control line back in the 60's as a kid. We flew so much I would get nicks on my fingers and the fuel would sting like heck. Didn't stop me though. Still have all my fingers.
Hey guys here's an open invitation to participate in a virtual Fun Fly in Real Flight Multiplayer field "Montana Madness" every Tuesday night 9pm-10:15pm. It's a lot of fun with RC pilots from all over the world. Spread the word.
When RC pilots try Control Line. Learn your engine first. Get your CG right. Hold on. Photog could have trimmed the first 2 minutes, start just before the nose over. It's very fun and satisfying holding your flying plane. You should try getting a big group together flying, 5 or more. That is entertaining.
As kids we received a Cox .049 U-Control model. The plastic speed demon had us spinning for about four or five (an eternity) minutes before it ran out an we fell over. An old timer, after watching us for a few WEEKS brought out one of his models and gave us a proper demonstration. Then informed us that it was not required to completely fill the tank.
@@bmitchely I have a U-Control plane from my Grandpa who died in 2000, and have had it since I was a kid. I have yet to fly it, but I'd like to. It has seemed pretty indestructible over the years. Messing with it now, I went to turn the propeller and it was stuck, but then freed, for the first time. Perhaps for some reason the piston was seized. Hopefully I didn't ruin anything, but I have for many times spun the propeller with the starter string, having never put fuel in it, so I wonder if I've damaged the engine. The fuel line is actually still supple. I need to get a fresh rubber band for retaining the engine. @@danielgoodman3578 I got one of them, did you get the engine to spin, if not use a few drops of glow fuel on the piston, may have to take the head off or whole engine to work on it. Hope it works out
we used to fly planes we built like that back in the early 60's. good fun and memories. thnx for the show.

I have this plane also and figured how to get to run quicker, choke to get fuel to venturi then small squirt into it, starts much faster

The glow plug has to be glowing cherry red.
The whole time I was thinking man it's a good thing they don't have to flip start it, might as well pack it up.

Back in the day, we didn't have any pussy electric starters & our engines started no problem!

Those kits are arf kits toobad you built it it is worth alot of money now i sold mine for 250
