That last line in the first story using the scrap metal to make the soaring bird, it broke my heart that moment of humanity. It is a good story a good villain has reasons for what they do and I sympathize with Samson, sad it wasn't in the game more but I am glad it was done here.
Thank you for this video! Samson is such an interesting character, it's a shame we barely get to talk to him. I always side with the mages in every game but the templars' final fate breaks my heart man. Lack of freedom is terrible but losing your mind AND being used by an order that you believe in? That's f***ed. In a parallel universe somewhere there's a buddy crime comedy where Samson and Anders team up against the Chantry.
Yeah... Florianne really does make a cute nightstand for orphans though. :-D Thank you SO much for running down these stories. The horrible thing is that a taste makes us all ravenous for DA-4. Like a potato chip... We always want more than one.
The bit about magical deformities doesn't really surprise me given the examples we hear about Tevinters experimenting with magic even upon themselves. I hope we get to see these deformities in the future. The thought about Corypheus possibly giving himself that spiked chin deliberately though is a crime against fashion but then again so were his shoes.
From the codex entry on lyrium in Dragon Age: Origins - "Mages have additionally been known to suffer physical mutation: The magister lords of the Tevinter Imperium were widely reputed to have been so affected by their years of lyrium use that they could not be recognized by their own kin, nor even as creatures that had once been human."
I always look forward to your videos! This game series is my absolute favorite because of the lore and background, and you truly help me make sense of it all!
In my opinion it would have been amazing if they added a quest where you confront Calpernia and Samson, even if they are defeated in Champion of the Just/Hushed Whispers. Red Templars and the Venatori are everywhere in Orlais and Ferelden, so why not having the possibility to defeat the leaders of both factions? Example: you choose Champions of the Just and you find Calpernia in the Temple of Mythal, BUT you have to defeat Samson in Emprise du Lion, where he's farming red lyrium. Or if you choose Hushed Whispers, you have to defeat Calpernia in the Western Approach, before meeting Samson in the Arbor Wilds.
The DA:O codex on the Tevinter Imperium, speaking of Minrathous, says "The magocracy live in elegant stone towers, literally elevated above the stench of the slaves and peasants below." I'd have liked some mention of Magister Erasthenes' "mansion" being a tower.
I would believe the story about Samson if, the first time you see him in Dragonage 2 he wasn't selling mages to Teventer as slaves, and I forget his exact response, but it was enough to paint him in a very bad light.
That's the plan, but it's not expected for another couple years at least. They were working on a framework, but recently scrapped it and started the project from the beginning again.
So few people are making Dragon Age videos anymore, thanks for being here!
As far as I'm concerned Gaider's Dorian story is canon, it's so good, and tbh if Bioware can forget a whole moon? we can do what we want

Playing Inquisition and watch Ghil makes this Dragon Age 4 wait easier

Set while interesting this does kind of seem like a little tid bit they’ll forget about what actually making the games

Every time I get a notification that you’ve posted I scream because you make the best Dragon Age content.

So Templars are good, take care of Mages, and assure that they’re guided right?
Samson: Well yes but actually no.

I've read the Calpernia short story an embarrassing number of times. I love her so much!

Yeah. People seem to forget that. Usually Anders-lovers and Cullen-haters. 😆
Can you please make a video about Dorian... you must know more him for sure. I'm from Chile
When are you going to make a video on Cassandra
Are they really making DA4? Like foreal foreal?!

Welp... I like Samsom now.... Shit
