Aidan Leva Uh... no. Blond is not only refreshing, but a throw back to the classic days of metal. We've got enough black haired dudes just as we have enough red haired females singing metal.
There's something almost magical about music and lyrics, when it hits you so hard just when you're feeling lost and then you keep moving on... what a great song
Honestly, THIS is the BEST DragonForce song I never heard ! Marc Hudson is now on my 3 favorite singers with Myles Kennedy and Freddie Mercury. I just regret that the guitar solo is not as good as Through the fire and flames one, but the new singer is sufficient to make this song my favourite of the DragonForce songs. I'm sure that this new album is full of surprises !!! (sorry for my bad english; fr)
@@fleetwoodcheese I'm pretty sure that exam was for Design and Communication Graphics and I got a B, which I'm still surprised by cuz I never studied for it... Thanks for reminding me about that, I'm having a good laugh to myself thinking back!
I have to give Dragonforce some credit here. The video starts with a shot of the bald guy looking completely bored at his computer, with his fist mushed into his face. He looks suicidal, or at the least, severely depressed. Pause that moment (it's at 0:01) and take a good hard look at it because it sums up exactly what this song and video are all about. It's actually pretty ingenious if you think about it. They start off the video showing what the viewer is going to look like after watching it. So in a way, you're seeing a quick glimpse of your immediate future. That's really cool. Bravo, Dragonforce! Well done!
DragonForce has been getting better and better. Breaking with ZP was the best thing they could have done. Not only is Marc a better singer, both in studio and live, musically they improved so much with The Power Within it blew my mind. I love the new song and look forward to the album.
yea, the sound is more mature than ever :) I rethought my opinion on them when Power Within came out (I was unable to listen to their nintendo metal back with ZP) - it was a good Power Metal album but not great. Now this is a brilliant piece of a rapid power metal song, with very complex and almost progressive sound, I would never expect a song like that from DF. I FUCKING LOVE IT. + They are REALLY brave to play songs like that and "screw" their fanbase made of 7 years olds with a different sound. I raise my glass to new DF :)
***** well, it's a matter of taste, some people like old DF more with more speed and focus on solos, I prefer this approach, still unique as it's clearly DF but its a bit closer in style to other great power metal bands, like Pathfinder, Stratovarius or Galneryus :) Your opinion is fine, I'm not here to judge :)
+uncle ruckus I agree. ZP had a very unique & most importantly, *POWERFUL* voice! He brought the quote, "force", to Dragon*force*. Although his voice noticably started to get a little shaky and cracky over the years.. that's what happens when you smoke and tour nonstop for 10yrs. Marc is a good vocalist. He is. But, I don't think he was the right replacement for this band. So many other talented vocalists auditioned for this spot. Ivan Giannini from Derdian, Thomas Winkler from GloryHammer, etc.. Why they gave this job to Marc is unknown. I can only speculate that since Marc lived in the UK it was probably easier to get ahold of him. No professional band would willingly choose a guy that only sang a *FEW BAR GIGS* prior to joining Dforce. The Power Within is still a great album. I throughly enjoyed Seasons & Cry Thunder. But compared to Sonic Firestorm.. just about everything fails in comparison.
Nicholas Storey Gloryhammer has an awesome vocalist :) I guess a vocal change is always a subject of many discussions, even years after replacement. The only one that went quite smooth was in Galneryus :)
+uncle ruckus Honestly, Ultra Beatdown was an ultra letdown for me. Sure it sounds happy.. so does most european power metal post- Helloween, Stratovarius, etc.. But, it didn't bring anything new to the table. Valley of the Damned was fresh. A promising start to the power metal titans. Tracks like Blackfire & VOTD really shined through to recreate that epic feel of ancient might. Sonic Firestorm took this concept and made it *BETTER*! Better structured songs, harder hitting tempos, furiously fast solos. My favorites being My Spirit Will Go On & Dawn Over a New World. Inhuman Rampage was the breakthrough album and perhaps I'm just sick of hearing TTFAF and OGAP all the time but, this album didn't hit me as hard as the others. This is where they started sounding really samey to me. Ultra Beatdown was just, blah. All the songs are catchy as usual.. it just lacked feeling, IMO. I *will* praise Reasons to Live though, on its waltzy solo feel awesome blast beat intro.
This is one of their greatest songs imo. Since the start its just all in your face and you feel that energy. Oh when the drums start at 2.33 oh man I'm getting goosebumps WOW. So good still my favorite band after finishing guitar hero 3 XD.
I think Dave recorded the album but Gee will be playing it from now on. It sucks that Dave left. He was one of my favorite drummers! Blast beat on, Dave.
3:40 I swear I can hear a banjo under all the other layers. its really faint and only lasts a few seconds but I swear its there. That or I'm going mad.
Heafy really should've been featured someone in the video rather than just the audio, especially since there are parts where only his vocals can be heard.

I must be one of very few who like this. Yeah it's not Valley of the Damned, it's different, and they're only mainstream because SO many more people know about them and like them. Hard not to get big with an iconic following like they have. New singer or not. I like Heafy in this.
I've been a Dragonforce fan for 8 years. When ZP left it was hard for me to like Marc but he's grown on me. Personally I like the new direction the band is going and the inclusion of Matt Heafy is a novel addition.
Dunno what you guys are bitchin about. This sounds pretty fuckin epic to me. Marc breathed new life into Dragonforce and made them way better than they ever have been. The Power Within was better than all of their previous albums combined and this album has me super-excited!
Some people say the solo section in this song is not so great, but personally I think its EPIC! I cant wait to see them live in 4 weeks! I think this band is in a league of there own to be honest, yeah its different to there older stuff but that's not a bad thing, I think Marc is a better vocalist and will take the band further, but if not for ZP they still wouldn't be where they are today.
Is it me or Dragonforce has improved in leaps and bounds during the last few years?! :-o I used to consider them a so-so power metal act (of the 'happy & blippy' variety if you catch my drift) but songs like this, "Cry Thunder", "Three hammers" and some others seriously changed my attitude... Now, if they only beefed up their lead solo tone a bit and even get rid of any excessive wah-wah and whammy bar antiqs, I'd be sold 100%! At any rate, the recent shift is more than welcome! Up the irons! \m/
I strangely enjoyed Ultra Beatdown, it slowly grew on me. Can't say the same for Inhuman Rampage because it was complete wank. 1-Valley of the Damned (1st album) 2-The Power Within (5th album) 3- Sonic firestorm (2nd album) 4- Ultra Beatdown (4th Album) 5-Inhuman Rampage (3rd album)
2013 belonged to KSE, 2014 Belongs to DragonForce when it comes to best newly released albums. Bought it, listened to it, now i'm in the phase of listening to it for 100x times, seeing if it will loose any value. Do not hesitate to buy this guys, the album is seriously amazing.
the only complaint i have about their new songs is the fact that they are generally shorter than the older songs. The reason it kinda bugs me is that the solos are a lot shorter. If u take soldiers of the wasteland (which has 2 solos) and compare it to this song it makes this song feel too rushed. But i am ok with all the other aspects of the songs. (i dont mean seem like a hater btw)
Im done with the metal community, NOTHING any band releases is good! Damn go listen to whatever you think is good! Old Dragonforce, old Sonata Artica, old Helloween, old Stratovarius, old Rhapsody, old Edguy, old Metallica, old every fucking band! I just have to think: "How sad would it be to not like any fucking thing", like really man, not liking anything would be fucking sad, you guys should just take things for what they are, enjoy them and if you dont, move on and look for something you do like. End of story. (PS: fucking awesome song!)
+David Fraser I think you were missing the point of his message.. He's saying that the metal "fanbase" is cynical. In which I humbly agree. The moment that bands try something new, they're almost immediately castrated. Even though 3/4 of the people that are bitching are the ones saying that "said group" needed a change. Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Dragonforce, Children of Bodom.. they've all evolved over the years. Evolution shows change. And change shows growth.
I fully agree with you, but I also think part of the problem lies in TH-cam's comment system (which makes generally unpopular opinions appear to be in the majority for two reasons). If you look at Dragonforce on metal archives, The Power Within is the second highest rated album they have released (with their first being the highest simply because reviewers tend to treat debuts nicer). Regardless of if you like the website or not, it shows that generally reviewers tend to like The Power Within more than Inhuman Rampage. Here's a link for those who are lazy: www.metal-archives.com/bands/DragonForce/2289
Joe Appleseed I agree, but its not only in TH-cam. Bands like In Flames for example, haven't been murdered yet only because its a crime. Bands who have also changed their sounds in similar fashion have been insulted as well. We all know that In Flames' new albums are not bad by any means, they're just not Melodic Death Metal any more and because its not the exact same thing all over again, people start hating on them. Its the same with Dragonforce, but well, there are still some people that can enjoy change as well. (PS: I agree that Valley of the Damned is Dragonforce's best album and the Power Within just behind it.)
Sirzechs Azazel Yeah, I fully agree with you. I carefully selected the phrase "part of the problem" because, at the end of the day, this wouldn't happen if people were more accepting of the fact that bands evolve. Honestly, if people are going to be inflexible, they should find different bands which better suits their musical taste (even a subgenre as seemingly specific as powermetal has many artists), rather than complain as if that is going to do anything. (P.S. I love Valley of the Damned about as much as Power Within so I don't find one better than the other, but they are my two favorite DF albums)
DragonForce You guys released a badass fucking song that kicks ass from here to the end of the universe. Its hard to think of how you could win MORE. Long live the Dragons!
That's an in correction for dragonforce, if all albums sound the same yet different then you can't go wrong? 5 albums later and they still sound as good as valley of the damned. My opinion though I guess
This isn't "featuring Matt Heafy." People are telling me he is doing harmonies in the chorus or something.. I sure as fuck don't hear him and it definitely isn't "featuring" him. This sounds like a load of shit to try and get Trivium fans to check this song out. I listened to the entire thing 4 times and I am still scratching my head. Where the fuck is Matt at? Why even bother putting his name on this if its inaudible? What the fuck?
I couldn't pull it together the first time I heard it but after a second time, I can hear Matt growling in the background and on his own for a bit from 0:35-0:48 and 1:30-1:36 ... he is also singing the low parts in the chorus
Thats not exactly featuring.. thats barely even a reason to mention him. I have never heard a "featuring" position where the featuring person is nearly inaudible. Its fucking ridiculous.
He did the screams and underlaying harmonies to the bridge, and I can EASILY hear him front and center singing the first part of the chorus, harmonized with Marc's vocals.
why do i feel that albums like "inhuman rampage" and the previous ones had a little something special and awesome that Dragonforce cant do anymore since ZP left?
and through the hordes of bloody warriors cleaved the mighty DragonForce until they could walk no more for the gore of their foes was now about their knees... Sam the eternal Dragonmaster then played a wrathful biddly biddly biddly harmonic that cleared a path through the pieces of corpses for there would be no peace for these corpses. DragonForce then climbed the mighty stage and beheld the fallen... Then Sam, numbed by several amber beverages, looked upon the Carnage and said "yayth my friends for this was very fucking metal but now i tire". So the band made hammocks out of Herman Lee's hair ,strung them up between the amps and went to sleep. They had to really, they had another sold out show in 3 hours time....and they could hardly disappoint their fans now could they?
well this is a different style of metal . this is power metal a style known for singing not screaming . i love trivium and i liked matts six words as you put it . but this is a completely different style of meta, compared to what matt plays . if you don't like it that's fine but be more educated on metal before clicking on a power metal video and expect something like trivium or all that remains

Told me it's okay
But this path that I'm taking
I'm lost in the deep end
One last chance - never more
Told me it's all right
In this sea of denial I'm cleansed in the fire
So why is it me
Am I blinded or too blind to see
Why was I born
Not a part of this society
Again and again
I tried so hard to reach for the stars but I failed you all
Tried to keep standing tall, never had a real chance at all
But still I'm searching
Same thing - different day - try to make a change
Left with nothing more to live for but everything to die for
Humanity - insanity - the everlasting grip
Lost all will to keep trying our beds we must lie in
So why was I born
Not a part of this society
Again and again
I tried so hard to reach for the stars but I failed you all
Tried to keep standing tall, never had a real chance at all
But still I'm searching...
Ten thousand ways to say sorry
But life writes it's own tragic story
Time marches onwards and nothing can ever be the same
But we'll pray for a brighter tomorrow
Break free from this lifetime of sorrow
Years pass us by but we're all just a part of the game

Aidan Leva Uh... no. Blond is not only refreshing, but a throw back to the classic days of metal. We've got enough black haired dudes just as we have enough red haired females singing metal.
Just one world explains everything of this song: Awesome!
Some people just know how to spell.
This song seriously has my favorite outro ever
There's something almost magical about music and lyrics, when it hits you so hard just when you're feeling lost and then you keep moving on... what a great song
This is why I love Dragon Force. Their songs tell stories.
(sorry for my bad english; fr)
got an exam today so I'm hyping up by listening to DragonForce :)
did you ace it?
@@fleetwoodcheese I'm pretty sure that exam was for Design and Communication Graphics and I got a B, which I'm still surprised by cuz I never studied for it... I was even kicked out of the class for the month before the exam ^^ Apparently I forgot to do one of the questions so that's where I dropped marks...
Thanks for reminding me about that, I'm having a good laugh to myself thinking back!
@@thelemoneater Even if you didn't study for it the B should've been an exciting occurrence to begin with. Hope you're still rocking on in life!
This is amazing, mark hudson is the bomb, dragonforce's songwriting is improving, well done guys
Ive never listened to this song AND now i wont stop listening to
Just found out about this song this week, 100% my fav Dragonforce song now
this song still crazy good to this day, so under-rated.
間違いない!👍
I have to give Dragonforce some credit here. The video starts with a shot of the bald guy looking completely bored at his computer, with his fist mushed into his face. He looks suicidal, or at the least, severely depressed. Pause that moment (it's at 0:01) and take a good hard look at it because it sums up exactly what this song and video are all about. It's actually pretty ingenious if you think about it. They start off the video showing what the viewer is going to look like after watching it. So in a way, you're seeing a quick glimpse of your immediate future. That's really cool. Bravo, Dragonforce! Well done!
ha-ha. ha... ah... mmmm... ok, let's pretend that was funny :/
yeah, the lyrics are so deep and sad.
+uncle ruckus
I agree.
+uncle ruckus
Honestly, Ultra Beatdown was an ultra letdown for me.
They changed their vocalist and all of a sudden the drummer can do more than one 'riff' !
+BrainSeepsOut they changed the drummer as well!
Ah, that's it.
+xSim. Dave Mackintosh did all the drums on this album...
Awesome song. These guys sound so much better these days. The new singer is great.
***** Your not! I heard it too!
It's the keyboard, probably a sound that emulates the banjo.
I've actually heard that Vadim plays the banjo
This is one of the few songs I could hear a metalcore band covering so well
+ Killian Hackenschmidt esto es PowerMetal
Never stop doing this kind of albums!
Heafy really should've been featured someone in the video rather than just the audio, especially since there are parts where only his vocals can be heard.
Messed up, once again
Told me it's okay
But this path that I'm taking
I'm lost in the deep end
One last chance, never more
Told me it's all right
In this sea of denial
I'm cleansed in the fire
So why is it me
Am I blinded or too blind to see?
(Am I too blind to see?)
Why was I born?
Not a part of this society?
Again and again I tried
So hard, to reach for the stars
But I failed you all
Tried to keep standing tall
Never had a real chance at all
But still I'm searching
Same thing, different day
Tried to make a change
Left with nothing more to live for
But everything to die for
Humanity, insanity, the everlasting grip
Lost all will to keep trying
Our bed we must lie in
So why was I born
Not a part of this society?
Again and again I tried
So hard, to reach for the stars
But I failed you all
Tried to keep standing tall
Never had a real chance at all
But still I'm searching for
Ten thousand ways to say sorry
But life writes its own tragic story
Time marches onwards and
Nothing can ever be the same
But we'll pray for a brighter tomorrow
Break free from this lifetime of sorrow
Years pass us by but we're all just a part of the game
I tried so hard
To reach for the stars
But I failed you all
Tried to keep standing tall
Never had a real chance at all
But still I'm searching
For ten thousand ways to say sorry
But life writes its own tragic story
Time marches onwards and
Nothing can ever be the same
But we'll pray for a brighter tomorrow
Break free from this lifetime of sorrow

oh dragonforce: bringer of epic guitar, vocals that inspire with power, and drums that could kill. perfect music to fight things to!
With the my fav vocals Marc Hudson and Matt Heafy and really good guitarrists..and i just cant like the sound..OMG
I must be one of very few who like this. Yeah it's not Valley of the Damned, it's different, and they're only mainstream because SO many more people know about them and like them. Hard not to get big with an iconic following like they have. New singer or not. I like Heafy in this.
круто, когда любимая группа не зацикливается на одном стиле и движется вперед!
Russia"""??? war get out !!
3:27 Marc Hudson Moonwalker
That Drummer in a St Pauli shirt. AWWWW YISS. All thumbs up for that awesome dude.
This might be my favorite Dragonforce tune of all time
Masterpiece ❤️🔥
I've been a Dragonforce fan for 8 years. When ZP left it was hard for me to like Marc but he's grown on me. Personally I like the new direction the band is going and the inclusion of Matt Heafy is a novel addition.
Isso q e música para meus ouvidos
Saw this live a few weeks ago and you can't help but headband like crazy when this is playing live.
THE ENDING just pure class, best ending i ever heard
so many sweeping techniques in this soong. so amazing at all
Best part: 0:00 - 4:53
ダサいとか言われがちだが カッコいいやろ!最高かよっ!
Крутой пауер -отлично -на одном дыхании !!!
Honestly, this is the best song i ever heard.
Tomorrow's kings, Valley of the dead and defenders are 3 of my all time favorites. You guys have insane talent
Matt Heafy did more rough vocals on this song than on Trivium's Vengeance Falls... :p
You guys have been getting better since you guys are starting to use actual riffs.
Wait dragonforce have been using riff since sonic firestorm (fury of the storm) (TTFAF) (cry thunder) all of these songs have riffs
I am perfectly aware of what they are.
I realy love this song, it´s great. Dragonforce with 7-string guitars rocks!!!
Matt´s shout always great!
This a sick song gave me chills, but I was caught off guard with the change of sound.
TTFAF is 200 bpms, Fallen World is 220, this is 236 o-0
Holy crap...
Amazing video!! The game is a great start off track to a phenomenal album!!
This is definetly one of my favourites tracks from dragon force, its heavy and melodic at the same time because of the lyrics. Awesome work guys
So... Besides the screaming, where the hell was Matt Heafy???
Pre chorus under Marc's voice
Patrick Mcgowan They should have put him in more. They wasted a lot of his talent.
He's singing the chorus harmony.. the baritone vocal!
Screaming/Chorus. I.e the "Hold on! Stay Strong" verses. He really should've been cast in the video aswell.
Graeme Young
Not only that, but given a bigger singing part. :/
Is it me or Dragonforce has improved in leaps and bounds during the last few years?! :-o
I used to consider them a so-so power metal act (of the 'happy & blippy' variety if you catch my drift) but songs like this, "Cry Thunder", "Three hammers" and some others seriously changed my attitude... Now, if they only beefed up their lead solo tone a bit and even get rid of any excessive wah-wah and whammy bar antiqs, I'd be sold 100%! At any rate, the recent shift is more than welcome!
Up the irons! \m/
Matt's part in the song was so minor it wasn't even worth mentioning. :P Inhuman Rampage had more screams, and they weren't even credited!
Well there are 2 songs overall so far, maybe he'll feature more later though I doubt it.
I strangely enjoyed Ultra Beatdown, it slowly grew on me. Can't say the same for Inhuman Rampage because it was complete wank.
1-Valley of the Damned (1st album)
2-The Power Within (5th album)
3- Sonic firestorm (2nd album)
4- Ultra Beatdown (4th Album)
5-Inhuman Rampage (3rd album)
Thanks for the music videos guys, best band ever!!!
The length is something I miss as we'll but nothing will be as lengthy as solders of the wasteland (10 mins of dragon force)
longlive Dragon force
the're dead now.....
@@leofusion7210 no, they're not
@@BemLHH0856 I agree.
@@leofusion7210 omg Are you still there?
@@BemLHH0856 I don’t think any of us are the same post-pandemic unfortunately 😔
Im done with the metal community, NOTHING any band releases is good! Damn go listen to whatever you think is good! Old Dragonforce, old Sonata Artica, old Helloween, old Stratovarius, old Rhapsody, old Edguy, old Metallica, old every fucking band! I just have to think: "How sad would it be to not like any fucking thing", like really man, not liking anything would be fucking sad, you guys should just take things for what they are, enjoy them and if you dont, move on and look for something you do like. End of story. (PS: fucking awesome song!)
+David Fraser
I think you were missing the point of his message..
Here's a link for those who are lazy: www.metal-archives.com/bands/DragonForce/2289
listen to trivium then
Joe Appleseed I agree, but its not only in TH-cam.
I take my hat off as a sing of
Respect and to admit that I have been awed
0:50 I love that part! 🤘
I think in Herman's solo he's slightly mad with his guitar.
+Daniel Evans that's right!
Honnestly i dont wanna hate on Dragonforce but i got the feeling that once you hear 2-3 of them songs you heard th whole discography
And you have people saying this song is too different. Can't win can we? haha :)
DragonForce well this one is more metalcore than the others i must admit. Except the chorus but after all its just my opinion ;)
DragonForce You guys released a badass fucking song that kicks ass from here to the end of the universe. Its hard to think of how you could win MORE. Long live the Dragons!
Metal Head Mike Everybody got his own tastes ^^
But if you like those 2-3 songs, all songs are great. :)
Awesome song and video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought that when the singer was replaced this band was gonna go downhill......oh how wrong i was.
good song, but where the fuck is Matt Heafy? probably the only reason i clicked on this video.
I was asking myself the same question, where the fuck is Matt? I hear growls at 0:40 :/
Unfortunately, without all those "nintendo effects" Matt, could easily blow those 2(dont know their names and dont care) out of the water.
Joe Kruger HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you have been trolling all over this video. Don't make me laugh.
If you listen closely you can hear matt's clean voice sometimes too. I was searching for him the whole video tho xD
Ruru Matsumoto my speakers arent good enough for that. and i dont know if i care to listen to the song again.
i dont know why you guys always do not like new things like 'ahhh...old metallica is better' ahh old bullet for my valentine is better
Jet The Hawk
what are u talking about?
Yeah I didn't get what he said ether!
Maybe because bands are almost always better at start. That's a fact.
bands change ideas change you know maby people get used to a style of that shit when a band release an album,it changes for them
That's an in correction for dragonforce, if all albums sound the same yet different then you can't go wrong? 5 albums later and they still sound as good as valley of the damned.
My opinion though I guess
This solo is absolutely mental,i cant decide whether is awesome or just fucking crazy
Wish I could hear more Matt Heafy, but I loved this song!!!
I don't give a fuck what you purist's out there say, I fucking love DragonForce!
fucking fall in dragonforce foreevermore!!
+yes dragonforce No entendo
You can very clearly hear him screaming...
He did the screams and underlaying harmonies to the bridge, and I can EASILY hear him front and center singing the first part of the chorus, harmonized with Marc's vocals.
Facebook says:
"MKH: Honored by @DragonForceHQ for allowing me on this! I'm on the scream parts, and back-up vocals on the choruses"
why do i feel that albums like "inhuman rampage" and the previous ones had a little something special and awesome that Dragonforce cant do anymore since ZP left?
This ... is ... just ... AWESOME !!!
and through the hordes of bloody warriors cleaved the mighty DragonForce until they could walk no more for the gore of their foes was now about their knees...
Why is this unlisted?
Did you just got Matt fucking Heafy on your song and let him scream six words?!
Well whatever, you probably had your reasons...
Whatever reasons they had were bullshit, just let Mr. Heafy do all the singing and growling.
Kevin Metäl I think we all should just go back and listen to some Trivium ;)
We probably should before the fanboys flock around us
well this is a different style of metal . this is power metal a style known for singing not screaming . i love trivium and i liked matts six words as you put it . but this is a completely different style of meta, compared to what matt plays . if you don't like it that's fine but be more educated on metal before clicking on a power metal video and expect something like trivium or all that remains
Donovan Fox You're probably right, but please don't get me wrong, I tried to keep it diplomatic.
Finally, a music video that has a meaning to it.
