    I always use split-screen when coding so that I can watch your videos and switch between the code and website. But after making the wrapper I didn't see a difference in the website. Took me half an hour to work out that it was because the window was narrow enough that it didn't make a difference XD

One question I have though is that I have followed step by step up until this very video, however when I put the h1 front page text in for the wrapper, it seems to be showing up above my navigation even thought it is below the closing nav tag. I’m also not getting the change in background color for the nav only..Any idea why?

      Well,
      I have always been Interested in computers. My brother is a dada base administrator and his wife a programmer in TX.
      I took a few classes here and there but the school was just taking our money. Long story short....i got laid off in 09 and found myself working 2 jobs. I was always super tired and just needed a change. We had a baby in 2012 and then things got even more crazy. My wife has a masters degree in English and she got a teacher position here in Dubai. We jumped at the opportunity because of money and benefits and we have been here 3 years. I could not find a job here although I have a Bachelor's degree and an associate degree. Anyway I was like super depressed. I had spent all my money but just enough for a flight back home. Meanwhile my wife is happy and I am like what I going on here. I could not do anything computer because I don't know anyone here and it's not like its easy to find meet up groups. Anyway...i figured I could try to learn something in my spare time and my friend back home was like learn JavaScript or python...so I started looking and was like..i need to learn HTML and then CSS before JavaScript...then it hit me that if I can learn to build a website I will have a good skill and that was when I started searching for how to accomplish that goal. Your tutorials are the only ones I have seen where you are building a project along with the students with a set goal in mind. That is what set you apart from the others. They teach but you teach to actually accomplish something and that helps us stay focused and driven....i thank you for that...
      I really appreciate it and it has been a blessing.

      Thank you for the kind words. Congratulations on your baby :) he/she must by around 5 years old by now. I'm sorry to hear that things have been so tough, and I really hope that the future looks brighter. In my experience tough periods usually come and go as long as we keep moving, and I really hope that what you learn will help accomplish that.

    • @RockySheikh

      Since the css ( background-color:#fff ) of nav is below the css of the wrapper( background-color:red )..it over writes the color mentioned in the wrapper and gives its own the original color

    So there were problems with studying. Some of the codes shown in this course are outdated, and now, when I completely copy the author's code, it happens that something does not work out, simply because the Atom has changed in 5 years. But I will continue my studies for the time being, since Dani is a very good teacher, and I like to watch his tutorials.

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nothing is outdated in this course so far 🙂 And the text editor has nothing to do with whether or not HTML works. It’s just a tool.
      I can almost guarantee that you made a typo, or missed a step in the video 😊
      Also, sometimes the browser is at fault, because it stores the CSS in its cache to reduce load times, so try and clear your “files and image” cache under the browsers “history”.

    IT's not about making the wrapper that is troubling me. I want to know how it can become responsive afterwards. I know how to style in CSS but when I load the website on small devices it always look crap. For example: Your create a login video with styling. The login section with input boxes, and signup. OK on iPhone in portrait you can't see the boxes, and in landscape you can better but not like using bootstrap framework. So how does one do CSS to become responsive......... That's the real question I'm sure many of us want to find out the answer to.

    • @Apoc-f6y
      @Apoc-f6y 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. I know this is a bit late but if I'm correct, Because the list items are also anchors they have a default value as well. For example, when you create an anchor tag via text and click it and then go back to that page the text will be, by default, Purple. And this states that the link has already been visited or "clicked" before. so to fix that you would have to style the anchor tag in css to not show this. Hope it helps!

    Hi, I know this is super basic question, super noob here. At 6:43 part of the video, I am curious how the nav tabs have the white background all the way to the left and right side of the page, different from the gray body color? Which element made that effect? Was it the CSS reset that did it, or the width of 1000px?Or is it by just moving the class "wrapper" inside the navigation, instead of in the body before the nav tag?

    Hey mmtuts,
    Please make a video on creating a reply system with a comment system

      Mr. Sinha This is so specific... He can't make an universal tutorial about a comment system because there are major differences between each language.

    Hey mmtuts,
    is not letting me change the color of the navigation div. With out it is working. Why is this happening?

      It is very likely a typo in your code. How does your entire index.html code look like?

    I copied your text point by point, on my site, the names are listed vertical, on yours horizontal..what is wrong.

    • @Dani_Krossing
      @Dani_Krossing  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be because you haven't set the listed items to float left. Btw, I have a new 2023 HTML course on my channel, that is much better than this one. The playlist is pinned under this video. 🙂

      @@Dani_Krossing Thanks for your reply. As I commented before, for some reason, the css, does not work. I am trying to do the css values, in html. I have your 2023 tutorials. How and where do I code float left. Thanks.

    This is awesome. is there any chance we could connect through email. i have some questions i don't seem to be getting the same types of results as you do and i keep going over and over my work and it seems (besides extra 's and different colors) i copied it perfectly. yet when i change the background color to red (the one you specified in the wraper just to see whats going on) i found that didn't actually do anything. and my h1 is beside to the right of the nav instead of under it.

      Update: Just fixed it.
      On the list, the float command has to be changed from left to none.
      Here:
      ul li {
      list-style: none;
      display: inline-block;
      float: none;
      line-height: 100px;
      }

    Tutorials are ovrall good but i would like to make some points here the way you are trying to teach itsnt very easy u should expling things,
    Dont worry about the English language because ur not teaching english here its computer coding please try to explain all the tags style properties... the way ur trying to teach is not a proper way because good learning is understanding things properly not just getting the job done......
