It is lovely to see the results of all your hard work from planting to harvesting. You achieve so much with such limited resources, a credit to any homestead. Well done. Tell your mum we will miss her. She really is great and comes across as so supportive. And I still can't get over how much you and your brother look alike. Almost like twins! By coincidence, Im here in the UK and this week I had a delivery and the driver was from Latvia! I told him all about your channel and that he should take a look. Hope he does. Hugs to you all 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤩
A very good harvest Dessy. With all the pumpkins, potatoes and tomatoes and all the other vegetables and fruits you canned you will have plenty to eat over winter. You just need to buy bags of lentils and dried beans for protein. The potato looked like a cartoon frog 🐸 with big eyes to me.
Oh my goodness look at all the potatoes. That one potatoes looks like a teddy bear with the ears or Panda bear. Good luck getting thru all the potatoes this year well the chickens will have a lot more to eat next year. LOL.
Amazing potato harvest. It would be interesting to see the whole season from planting to harvest as this season was so successful. I guess you will take your culinary potatoes into the cold cellar and the rest will be animal feed? Congratulations 👍
It’s amazing how two kids, one of them with no experience in farming, managed to run an almost self sustaining farm using very limited resources. Even with the help from your families and your kind neighbors you did almost 100% of the work, you should be very proud of yourselves and your harvest. Bonus points for not slaughtering animals either, your farm is rather like a sanctuary for farm animals 😊 edit-I don’t have a homestead per se just a large yard, my potato harvest wasn’t great but I seem to have forgotten a few potatoes in the ground so now, mid-November I have these very healthy, fully grown potato plants😂 They’ll most likely not be ready before serious frost sets in but we’ll see.
If you eat animals , you should be honest about the process. Maturity , it's a farm. They eat meat. They Should be raising their own food. Too many are disconnected where food is from.
@ I’m vegetarian so you’re barking at the wrong tree. I don’t think they consume a lot of meat and I highly doubt people who give names to their farm animals are going to eat them. You do know people keep them for dairy or wool too, right? Even if they’re not pets.
Thank you to all your helpers and beautiful family. God bless your winter season with great memories and a really wonderfully productive year. Potatoes for everyone! Merry Christmas 🎅🏼🤶🏼from Minneapolis, Minnesota🌳🌲🌲🏡🎄🌳
My potato harvest was really good this year. I planted in April and then again in July. I normally can only plant them once. We had a really early spring and it just froze here a week ago. So strange for the Midwest Wisconsin usa
I grew up having "new" potatoes, the small ones, with greenbeans, onion and bacon at every evening meal. Absolutely delicious. The pot of beans would simmer all afternoon and be ready at dinner time.
Well done! That’s a lot of potatoes. Excuse my ignorance but when the potatoes are stored in outdoor unsealed barns do pests start eating them? Like mice and rats etc? Or maybe it is too cold where you are. In any case you’ve done an amazing job 😊
You need a wagon that has metal mesh for the bottom and the sides to put the potatoes in, so you don't wear yourselves out carrying totes around. Also it is nice to have, what I call a grabber, so you don't have to bend over to pick up the potatoes. Check it out. Either order it on line or you might can find them both at Lowes.
Have you thought of putting up a stand by the entrance of the farm so you can sell some potatoes and maybe even other harvested goods? You have a very large inventory already.. looks like you have a Mickey Mouse potato 😂
You had a good crop this year, now you must protect them from the rodents while you store them ready for the coming winter. The last time I tried potatoes, they were scabby and decidedly second rate. I did not try again.
@@elizabethvargas1438 From what I’ve seen in previous years only some are for eating, some are kept for seeding in the spring and some go to the animals during winter. They store them in their cellar, they made it very suitable for storing potatoes. You can watch how they built it on their main channel.

I thought so too, that Despina and her brother look like twins even though they are half-siblings.
@@minime7375strong genes from their father 😂😮
You have a new (to me) helper! Who is the man in the green shirt?
Such a bountiful harvest!
If i am not wrong, I think it was mums husband. I think he's been in some other videos as well, when mum came over the very 1st time
Amazing work, and a great potato harvest. I think the potato at the end looked like Mickey Mouse :D

We store the potatoes temporarily in a dark place for few weeks and then we sort them out and put them in our basement 😊
LOVE THIS CHANNEL! 🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They live in rural area of Latvia and everyone grows their own vegetables and have chickens for eggs.

🥇🥇💗💗
Will both of you eat that many or do you share or sell some?
Despoina, did you ever do acting or ballet? Or gymnastics?
🎉🎉🎉❤
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I thought it looked like a frog's head.
Some might say you grew enough potatoes to feed an army.
What will you do with all those potatoes?? That was a great harvest! Why did you plant soooooo much?
You had a good crop this year, now you must protect them from the rodents while you store them ready for the coming winter. The last time I tried potatoes, they were scabby and decidedly second rate. I did not try again.
Wow, good looking potatoes!!! What do you do with soo many potatoes? I buy 5lbs, and they go bad on me. Do the mice get to them?

Hickey Mouse
That is a huge amount of potatoes for 2 people, I doubt we eat 3 buckets in an entire year.
Where has the German Shepherd been
