    It is true that South Africans are very hospitable. I have also noticed that when I was there. I worked in Umkomaas, Kwazulu Natal as a dive guide and instructor. The person who owned the dive centre gave me a room in his house, where I could sleep for free. Every three months I had to leave South Africa for 2 or 3 days, to extend my visa, so he lent me his second car and let me go out into the world for a week to Swaziland or Lesotho, to extend my visa. He invited me several times to watch rugby in Durban, and I saw the Springboks against the All Blacks, and against the Wallibies. I also saw the Sharks against the Bulls during the Super 12 tournament in the Southern Hemisphere because of him.

    Beautiful beautiful:). I’ve lived in the USA since 1978, originally from Pretoria, and have only been to the Cape 4 times, last was in 2017 when we did a 4 nations trip with Bush Whisper. Wish we had known about Kersefontein:). Thank you for this:). Learned more about my history as well:)

    A wonderful video of a magical farm and tribute to the remarkable 8/9th generation owner, who lives there...! It was quite evocative, reminding me of the 9 years my family and I spent on a farm, admittedly on a much smaller one, breeding bloodstock(race-horses) in Africa. I also related to his flying in a light aircraft, as I had a good friend at the time who had his own light planes and took me flying over our "small" farm, by local standards, twice in three months. This was in order to scatter the ashes of both my late mother and then later, those of my wife's. But on the whole, Very Fond Memories. Thanks for sharing one of The Most Pleasurable Video Clips here on TH-cam..!!

    Wow the farmer is definitely a very well-traveled and educated man who understands the world well. As a Cameroonian who did all his tertiary education in SA (I earned my certificates from CityVarsity Cape Town and Wits University) I came to understand the racial dynamics that have shaped SA and this video added another layer to that understanding, so thank you. When the farmer said he went back to Stellenbosch University and saw the university choir perform songs in Afrikaans, Xhosa, isiZulu etc, he could see a cultural merging which is good, that blessed my heart. I didn't hear him talk about his own kids, does he have any to continue the farm's legacy?

Julian is also unique and special - raconteur, historian, aviator, musician and equestrian among his many other talents! I’ve been lucky enough to visit a few times and, especially as a photographer, always find something new and remarkable at Kersefontein and its West Coast environs. Great to see it - and him - so nicely portrayed here

    A lot of these older farms which have been in one family for generations, also have staff who have worked for the family for generations.
    In Afrikaans they refer to their staff as "die plaas volk" which is the farm family really.

Please considering keeping your oxe-wagon and cart under shelter in a barn These are so scarce now, and I have recently seen so many turning into compost, while standing outside in the garden. @@realcoolvisionI loose more respect for you when you remove negative comments which are essentially about you swanning around the world on a Russian passport- during this evil empire which you and your cohort support if only through your passive / non political stance - which IS anything but and part of the playbook.
      You are vapid in your position because your travels are within the Russian friendly framework which abnegates your feigned ‘distance’ from politics.
      Whilst yes we know, any decent, dignified, interesting and desirable country wouldn’t be open to you given your birthright- it still stinks you basking in the 💩holes.
      Shame on you.
      The war will be over and Russia will have definitively lost and how you responded to it will remain forever. Just consider that this is the world you foster for your daughter and family.

    I knew Julian many many years ago before I moved to the USA, and spent many enjoyable days at Kersefontein. So lovely to see it still so well preserved and thriving as a productive farm . Will definitely have to visit the next time I return to Cape Town.

      @@realcoolvision Yeah a deep history where each corner has a story to tell. A closed loop farm with all the needed food, nutrition and he could employ people to keep it running. That man sure does not have a boring day in his life! Take the airplane into town, take care of the animals, have something to drink and watch the sunset with some friends. Let's hope the kids realize the value in that inheritance to keep it up!

    Another great video, thank you Slava and all the people involved making these videos. I hope you guys find out why the views are strangely low with these SA videos. Perhaps there are certain bots reporting and flagging your recent videos for political reasons? Perhaps it’s just TH-cam itself labeling all South Africa related contents sensitive? What’s happening with this TH-cam algorithm is worth a video on its own.

    • @realcoolvision
      @realcoolvision  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, I believe that is the case. So I took down South Africa video. Because it stopped generating any views whatsoever. Strange. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand youtube algorithm. Appreciate your support

      @@realcoolvision I know, i noticed it after your first video on SA. I’ve been watching your videos since your Chicago video, it featured on my front page feed, and so did most if not all of your videos after that. So I suspect that’s where the problem lies, it’s not being featured on as many peoples’ front pages as your videos normally do. Something is restricting it. As someone who pay attention to what’s going on politically online, I think it’s either TH-cam restricting SA contents due to the racially/ and class charged 2021 SA riots, or there is a bot operation against your recent videos by reporting and successfully flagging them as sensitive. I hope it all gets sorted out and these videos can get the views they deserved.

      @@realcoolvision or maybe I’m thinking too much, and it’s just a random TH-cam fk up, and it might just be temporary. In any case, thank you for making this series anyway despite the low views, and I hope you can continue as you originally intended.
