    Mary Martin,
    I joined two days ago, but have been following you for 7 years. You
    are the only teacher who taught to feel the voice and not be afraid to take risks especially act crazy with the voice.
    Bravo Madeleine

    After many, many, many years of singing incorrectly (because. Long hair rocker) I can see clearly now that learning how to sing with better technique is no different than fitness training with your body. Only this is in the diaphragm, throat and such. But it's also a massive course in mind/body connection. Like real meditation with body scans and focusing on areas of your body you never thought existed. In short, I feel like my health will improve learning this stuff

    Amazing! I’ve been taking lessons for about 3 years and am just now experiencing much of what you covered in this lesson. It’s very affirming to know that some of the sensations you discussed have me on the right track. Thank you so much for all you do!

    I have a question: when I was auditioning for music school I had a vocal coach who on the day of the audition, said “you basically threw out everything we’ve practiced from all the warm ups we’ve been doing for the past few months.” It was pretty harsh but I think she was trying to say that I wasn’t applying the warm up’s to my performance. So my question is how do you know you’re applying all the exercises? It can be tricky at times when you’re singing the actual song to be aware of every part of your body while also trying to be performative and emotional
    Also thanks for everything you do. You’re so talented and I always get “ah ha” moments when I watch your videos whereas sometimes other coaches can be a little confusing

    Wow im surprised to say "garage door" is what clicked to raise my soft palate - something I'm just now discovering. I feel less strain reaching higher notes

    Hello Madeline. I’m grateful for the gift of you! You’ve transformed my singing with your exercises ❤. I have one question though.
    Any time I practices your exercises, I sing perfectly well. But when I skip practice is for a day or a few days, singing becomes a struggle. I wouldn’t be able to pitch and sing high notes easily. Is this normal? Do I have to practice every day to sing well?

    • @Faulkridd
      @Faulkridd ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I'm not Madeline, but I'm a fellow singer with a couple of years of singing behind me. Yes, everyday practice is a must if you want to truly hone your voice. However, that doesn't mean that you have to practice every day. Sometimes we don't have time, or our voice just won't work the way we want it to. It's important to listen to your body.
      For example, I have a couple of music projects. Sometimes we rehearse right after I clock out of my job, so on those days I barely have time to properly warm up. That's when my daily routine comes to save the day. I may not be at 100%, but I can be confident that I can get the job done without hurting myself. That's the important part.
      I hope this is helpful!

    I still struggle with breathy sounds, mid to high range, I tried oh so many vocal exercises and nothing seems to help so far to get it cleaned up. I hear and feel some tiny amount of air on top of a sound coming out. Any advice?

On Sundays I got to church in the morning and I never know when the saints are gonna make me sing but the problem is i usually have no time to warm up and I’m at church singing with my diesel deep man voice from waking up 😭😂soo I need some warm up’s. I already know how to sing powerful I just need to do the same in the morning 😂😭I’m a person with a pretty strong voice once I’m warmed up cuz I really be SANGIN during choir rehearsal but that’s not whats most important lol…I need to be able to sing like that right before church too!😭so Ig I’m look for strong voice warm up for the morning 🤷🏽‍♀️😭

    I wish I could understand the exercise a little bit better. You said the larynx should be open but my larynx didn't do anything when i opened my mouth to do the almost-yawn. I tried it again and felt my larynx going downwards my throat. does that open it? should i sing that way during this exercise? or should my larynx stay where it was pre yawn? or is it more of an imaginative thing and i might not be able to feel it open phsyically? I would appreciate any help with this very much

    I guess I should be honest, I don't actually hear a difference between those two G's you sang at 9:00 mark. They both sounded good to me. I wish I could hear the difference though :(
