Right now I'm running a 1660 super paired with a Ryzen 7 7700X and I can play any game I want no problems. I plan on upgrading soon but it's a solid card still.
That’s awesome! A lot of people knock stuff like that but I’m a fan of upgrading the CPU like that if you can’t afford everything at one time. Especially if you play games like Fortnite and Valorant
Lol bruh I have the same cpu and a friend a mine give me the 1660 and it runs games pretty well, im playing space marine no problem. Waiting for October Deals to see if the lower the 7900xt

I have the 1660 super paired with Ryzen 3600 and played the Final Fantasy 16 demo on it. You do get a message saying the gpu is below minimum requirements but was able to play and complete the demo on low settings averaging around 90 to 100 fps during gameplay albeit with some stuttering. When I tried to play on medium and high settings, however, the game either freezes or crashes.
My first pc has a 1660 super, built it in 2020 it's still good for 1080 p gaming. I just built my 2nd PC and got a 4080 super and ryzne 7 7800x3d now, gaming in 4k :)
I threw out this gpu from the third floor, and it hit an edge (concrete) hard so the fans were thrown out. It lay on the ground for 3 days in the rain. I wanted to see if it worked again, and it's running atm in this computer. I'm impressed.
Just put a 1660 into a machine with a i5-6500 and boy you could see the difference in those E-sports titles. Performance wasn't so great, so you are right in pointing out how the CPU can effect certain games now days. Funny thing was in R6 when I went from low/medium presents to very high the FPS actually went up since the game was using the GPU more and the CPU less.
@@jurivjerdha2467 what it is since the graphics setting is higher the GPU is doing more render work and the CPU less. So since at the lower resolution the CPU is the bottleneck offloading some of the work to the GPU balances the load a bit more. The "prettier" setting uses the GPU more. You see the same thing when you use frame generation tech, but the other way. If the GPU is maxed, but the CPU has head room using something like FSR will move some load from the GPU to the CPU giving you higher frame rates.

It's just sad that people nowadays have to consider such old GPU for budget gaming, due to the stinky dog poop GPU market. P.S. Cyberpunk 2077 has been updated with FSR 3 recently, which allows my 1660 super runs the game in 60-90 fps, in 2k, high setting.
@MMillerPCs price to performance, it's definitely a better deal in my opinion. On top of the 8 gigs, instead of 6 gigs vram. I guess we can agree to disagree based on the advantages of nvidia. And the psu required. I love low profiles ;-;
