Just put a 1660 into a machine with a i5-6500 and boy you could see the difference in those E-sports titles. Performance wasn't so great, so you are right in pointing out how the CPU can effect certain games now days. Funny thing was in R6 when I went from low/medium presents to very high the FPS actually went up since the game was using the GPU more and the CPU less.
@@jurivjerdha2467 what it is since the graphics setting is higher the GPU is doing more render work and the CPU less. So since at the lower resolution the CPU is the bottleneck offloading some of the work to the GPU balances the load a bit more. The "prettier" setting uses the GPU more. You see the same thing when you use frame generation tech, but the other way. If the GPU is maxed, but the CPU has head room using something like FSR will move some load from the GPU to the CPU giving you higher frame rates.
I have the 1660 super paired with Ryzen 3600 and played the Final Fantasy 16 demo on it. You do get a message saying the gpu is below minimum requirements but was able to play and complete the demo on low settings averaging around 90 to 100 fps during gameplay albeit with some stuttering. When I tried to play on medium and high settings, however, the game either freezes or crashes.
My first pc has a 1660 super, built it in 2020 it's still good for 1080 p gaming. I just built my 2nd PC and got a 4080 super and ryzne 7 7800x3d now, gaming in 4k :)
@@bodasactra Just a result of AMD having less value than Nvidia. The 5600 XT is more like a 1660 Ti. But we are starting to see the 1660 Ti fall below $100 too. However... the 5700 XT is also starting to get close to the $100 range. So it wont matter until the 3060 becomes $100, lol.

@MMillerPCs price to performance, it's definitely a better deal in my opinion. On top of the 8 gigs, instead of 6 gigs vram. I guess we can agree to disagree based on the advantages of nvidia. And the psu required. I love low profiles ;-;

I try to always say that when testing esports games so people dont get the wrong idea
Makes no sense for your fps to go higher since you already were getting max fps of what your cpu could produce

this gpu is amazing for the price, if this card had more vram it would be The perfect card for 1080p mid to high settings depending on the game

This helped a lot big fan Matt love what your doing bench marking the older graphics cards!❤
@@Squeezy682 thank you!!! I am working on getting a lot of them so I can test new games with older cards people still play with

Love the 1660 Super
Me too!!
Thanks bro , I live in India , I was going to buy . Thank you this video . ❤ A sub from me .
It's the best $100 GPU you can buy. The 5600 XT is basically the AMD Equivalent of this, also priced at $100 on eBay.
The 5600XT sits between a 2060 and a 2060 Super on average.

1660 super is a good card for 1080p gaming atleast. For 1440p ill go for atleast a 4060

Get a job instead of begging on TH-cam
Just buy a £85 1650 or a £50 1070 and that will do you fine until you make enough for a used 2070 or 2080 👍

Just get a 5700 xt instead, much cheaper, and you get 40-80% better performance
