    Nallel, The Spark EV and the Spark with gasoline engine are as different as night and day. The Spark gasoline version is slow, noisy, and has a choppy ride. I drove one and hated it. But the Spark EV... well, I bought one and I love it. It's perfect for around town, back and forth to work.

      How do you think the long term reliability will be? I know the basic gas Spark is pretty bad. I sometimes see posts from Spark owners having sudden shut downs, screens tripping. They need to restart or have dealer reprogram?

    Regarding the "big angle" of the rear seat when it is folded down - that this dude pointed out in his demo - that happened because he did not use the proper procedure for folding the rear seats. To properly fold the rear seats all the way down - you first have to flip the seat bottoms forward, and then you fold the seat backs down.

    You need to lift and pull the back seat foreword, then pull the back seat button to lower the seats for a flat floor.

    I want to buy one used. What is a better choice, the Fiat 500 EV or Spark EV? Wow, every hatch back I have owned has allowed flat folding rear seats, including my 92 GTI and 87 Chevy Sprint Turbo.

      Looks aside, I agree. Fiat is not exactly getting a great Rep in terms of reliability. The interior might even feel cheaper, or no better. But it is the Cool Factor car.

    • @MrTeff999
      @MrTeff999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I faced the same choices in 2015. I liked both. I liked the funky styling of the Fiat, but the Spark has more backseat room and I think it is faster. I went with the Spark and I have not regrets.

    If you extend the headrests on the back seats say 2-3 clicks, you can get them to lay flat. I have a 2014 Spark and I can fit my 110lb Doberman with the rear seats down. Great job on the video!

    Great review, man! I like the (urban) size of this car, the quietness of the engine of course. But... I wonder why is it, because it's sub compact, does'it have to be a NON road noise insulated electric car??? It's f...king up all the "zenitude" about it? Is it really all that bad?
    ... and lookin around for my next city car, I must admit (not owning a garage), that I am not confortable with leaving a car hooked up to a charging station unnattented for hours, or a night long seesion. Vandalism and all.

    Regarding the "big angle" comments on the rear seat. I think he's correct. That's as far as it goes. I have the same problem with my 2016. I saw the videos on lifting and folding the rear seat down, but I think that's for earlier Sparks. Mine appear different and I can't do that (unless someone can post a "how to" video for a 2016.) I've found there are many sites and videos that are misleading on the 2016 Spark. I've discovered that the fast charging option and back up camera aren't standard, you can't mirror your phone to the info screen (e.g., to use Google maps) and there is no trunk wheel well for a spare tire. On a plus note, it was nice to "fill up" half a "tank" at Walmart for $5 (which is the price of a gallon of gas in California.)

      But the one with the newest battery 😊
      If you find a 2014 that had the battery replaced by GM under warranty... But that one. Hurry as the warranty on the 2016 is almost up and GM is struggling to replace batteries. Some folks on the Spark EV Facebook group had their batteries replaced under warranty while others are on indefinite hold as GM tries to "figure things out". If I were buying one of these, I'd look for one with a battery that was just replaced recently. That's the holy grail of Sparks. Otherwise a 2017-2018 Bolt is your best bet as GM is still replacing batteries for them and they get 4x the range

    I wonder what the acceleration difference is between this and the 2014 Spark EV. It apparently had 400 ft/lbs of torque! GM decided to nerf this car to put in a lighter battery and different gearing.

    • @CarQuestion
      @CarQuestion  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +farfolomew cant say the big difference. it's hard to get an exact 0-60 cause the car love to smoke the wheels with that power!

    • @masterwhopper414
      @masterwhopper414 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The car still accelerates the same despite losing power because of a smaller battery - GM shortened the gearing. In addition the car feels just a little lighter with a minor bit in improving handling.

    • @jasonhadid7477
      @jasonhadid7477 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      masterwhopper414 I had read somewhere that the 2015+ actually accelerates 0-60 faster than the 2014 despite the lower torque due the gearing change the torque at the wheels is actually higher on the 2015+.
