I think the superhuman strength part can be explained by the concept of "hysterical strength". Hysterical strength is commonly attributed to increased adrenaline production in the body during times of high stress or life or death situations. A real life example of this idea are stories where a parents will lift vehicles off of the ground to rescue their children. It sounds like Anneliese Michel had some underlying psychosis as well. Psychosis leads to hallucinations, hallucinations lead to spikes of adrenaline, and all of that leads to a condition called "excited delirium" where instances of hysterical strength, violent outbursts, and very high body temperature can occur. I can't explain everything in the video. But, the strength part has a real world explanation.

+MilleniumLad21 i completely agree. i think all of it can be attributed to a psychosis possibly related to schizophrenia or some other kind of schizoaffective disorder. i don't know if that kind of thing would come up on a brain scan, but i feel like in many cases it would not. what makes the most sense to me is the fact that she was raised in a very Catholic home with very Catholic beliefs and probably had a legitimate fear of things like demons and the devil. and when a person has a mental illness, particularly one associated with hallucinations, paranoia, etc., the symptoms tend to manifest in a way that is representative of what they fear or what they think about a lot or focus on most in life. so i think mental illness combined with a highly religious background played into what she was experiencing. in fact, i would be much more surprised if this girl was an atheist or agnostic, or just had no specific religious beliefs. and you're right, extraordinary strength is nothing supernatural that can't be explained..drugs can do that, highly emotionally-charged situations can do that, adrenaline can do that. the mind is an incredibly powerful thing that we don't fully understand yet, and i think it's much more likely that the explanation has something to do with the mind, rather than with actual demonic possession. however, that's not to say that demonic possession isn't also possible..cuz who knows really?..i'm not gonna pretend to know the answer to that..

I am Schizophrenic and experienced something very similar to Anneliese. In fact the demon that possessed me says that he possessed this woman. I fought with this demon on my first psychotic episode by nailing him to an imaginary cross somewhere at 3am. If I haven’t fought and won over this demonic entity I cannot write this sentence for I’ll be completely insane but I managed to have won by making him stuck in my head and not do much. I also experienced superhuman strength and things flying in air back when my meds aren’t right. Two years later I went to a mental hospital again and the demon finally revealed himself to be Beelzebub. He is still stuck inside my head nailed on a cross, however he can’t do much since I now had the right meds. He is able to manipulate my thoughts and cause hallucinations. I have the right meds now, so all he can do is make me depressed once in awhile with negative thoughts. The weird part is that without my meds I can have superhuman strength and psychopathic tendencies. The reason why I still want to live is because I want to be alive when the technology to see our inner thoughts is finally possible somewhere in the future. So people can examine the demon inside my head that made me mentally unstable for two years and possibly more (hopefully not). I believe both science and spirituality will converge at some point. You decide on your own opinion about my testimony on this sentence, but in my case. We don’t really know much of the universe as we thought we knew.

RN here who worked in mental health for years. She had schizophrenia. The superhuman strength? That can and does happen with manic states. Also, it is not at all surprising that she was "possessed" before the doctors or meds because she was such a devout Catholic before her schizophrenia started. Also schizophrenia generally starts presenting at that age.
This is anecdotal but it does help illustrate my point so I'm going to tell you this story. The reason I started working in mental health versus emergency medicine was because my younger brother, who I helped raise while our father was deployed for the military over and over, was schizophrenic. His hallucinations were telling him to kill me. At one point it was so bad I had no choice but to call the police to get him in an ambulance and take him to the hospital. For context my brother's weight was 120 lb tops. He was in such a manic state that it took four big, strong police officers to hold him down.
I also grew up a devout Catholic and these people were crazy. Sheer amount of suffering that they seem to think was Catholicism is mind-boggling. Catholicism can definitely be like a cult but this family took it to a whole new level.
I'm more than happy to answer any questions people comment below. Mostly because I don't want people thinking that this was a demonic possession because it was not. Obviously I can't diagnose this woman for two reasons. I'm not a doctor so I can't diagnose anybody and I was not there. Even a doctor can't retroactively diagnose somebody in this type of circumstance. But I doubt that any legitimate doctor I would say that this is a possession as opposed to schizophrenia.

I’m studying medicine and highly interested in psychiatry especially neuro psychiatry combination. My professors had discussed this case to make our lesson more engaging and we all came to the conclusion that Annalise had undiagnosed schizophrenia or acute onset psychosis that progressed and without treatment her symptoms got worse and worse, and she could have had a combination of schizophrenia with bipolar 1 so just mania as well.
And my younger sibling was also diagnosed with schizophrenia but she is undergoing treatment and has started college with family support. How is your brother doing ?
Lots of love and positivity to you and your family.

From patients of psycosis there have been reports of superhuman strength. Their brain works on a whole different level. Like how people behave in a flight or fight response the adrenaline spike gives us the ability to lift weights that we would not be able to normally.
It also sucks we don't know a lot of how the brain works in these patients. The research in this area is kinda rudimental still. Either because we don't have the right technology. Because if u can't see it convincing becomes difficult. Since the present day scans have an extent to what they can do.
And also doesn't help how humans jump to the supernatural when they cant explain something.

In psychosis you see and hear things that are not there or you can even start thinking or believing in some things that not true
Epilepsy is a disorder in which you suffer from seizures
That girl suffered so much because of her parents and the priest who performed exorcism on her
She died of semi starvation, dehydration and she had bruises all over her, broken knees and much more
And this is basically child abuse

I firmly believe that this was an authentic case of possession, because of the fact that year's later test's were done on her brain and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that epilepsy wasn't even remotely responsible for what happened to this beautiful young woman who in my opinion is most likely a saint for her sacrifice, no epilepsy found in her brain pretty much is the reason I believe that this was a authentic case of possession and the fact that it actually killed her is an even scarier thought being how young she was and it makes me mad when people say she wasn't possessed and she just played along with it due to power of suggestion and my response is " To the point of death" ??? I don't think so. God bless all
