      Kahit magkamali mali ang tawag mo tol you got the idea. Ganyan nga, effective ground fault current path para immediate ang trip ng breaker. Walang kuryente walang makukuryente, safety!

    One time po kse nag expirment po ako , dimimit ko po ung hot wire ko sa nema eclisure ko na nkbit ung earth ground ,hindi po sya nag trip ung breaker which 20 amp. Pero nong nag bond ako mg eathh at ground galing meralco

    Ang tamang terminology ay Line to Neutral kahit na galing sa line side na single phase 2 wire or 3 wire systems or 4-wire system. Ang Neutral line ay reffering to 0V potential current carrying line that is design to carry return current from line to load back to supply line, be it a 2 wire single phase, 3-wire single phase or 4 wire 3-phase (Y-topology). Ang ground wire or conductor is normally non-current carrying wire intended to mitigate the ground fault, current will flow through grounding or ground conductor if there is a ground fault. So both bonding and grounding are quite important for ground fault mitigation. Dapat ay may grounding wire system pero dapat ay may ground to neutral bonding din dahil di magiging effective ang grounding wire for ground fault mitigation kung walang properly located and connected ground/neutral bonding. By the way, ang ground wire or grounding system (bonded and connected to GEC ) ay primarily used for both grounding fault and lightning surge pathway, mitigation for both grounding fault at lightning or static discharge to earth.

      Article 1.1 neutral conductor-conductor connected to neutral point of a system intended to carry current under normal conditions.
      Nowhere in PEC can you read the grounded phase conductor being called the neutral conductor. Sabi ko Naman, tawagin nyo na kung ano gusto nyo itawag pero slang Yan, Hindi Yan technical term sa PEC. Yun lang ibig ko ipaliwanag. Sa ganang akin, Hindi ko tawagin line to neutral ang line to grounded at mas Tama tawagin ko itong line to ground gaya ng tawag ng iBang engineer na magblog din dito sa TH-cam.

      Again ang ground wire per se na tawag sa wire ay nowhere sa PEC mo makikita kung Hindi Ako nagkakamali, so correct me if I am wrong. Ang PEC terms na mababasa mo ay either grounded conductor, grounding electrode conductor, equipment grounding conductor at ungrounded conductor. So atin atin na lang mga practitioners tumawag sa mga methods at equipment kung saan Tayo magkakaintindihan. Tulad din Yan ng convenience outlet, Wala sa PEC, receptacle outlet ang PEC term.
      Malaya Naman Tayo gamitin terms na gusto natin Basta magkakaintindihan Tayo ng kausap natin. Akin lang ay kung may posibilidad na mamisinterpret Ako sa sinasabi ko ay ay Hindi Ako komportable gamitin ang slang term.

      Ang grounding electrode system ay Hindi magagamit sa ground fault mitigation dahil napakahirap pababain sa 25 ohms ang impedance ng lupa between grounding electrode sa electrical system at grounding electrode sa service o ng building. See section 2.50.3.4(2) exception
      Purpose ng grounding at section 2.50.1.4 (A) & (B) limit over voltage from various sources. It cannot create a low impedance circuit to facilitate the operation of the over current device as stated in section 2.50.1.4(A)(5). Sa dulo sabi dun the earth shall not be considered as an effective ground fault current path. Ayan ang linaw.

      many editions but was never defined.
      You just defined what a neutral conductor is. That is stated in PEC.

      @@kuryentenuts4592 tama ka at ganun din naman ang stand point ko sa grounding electrode, hindi ito ang mag mimitigate ng ground fault, kaya nga ang sabi ko, mahalaga ang ground/neutral bonding dahil ang ground fault current ay kailngang bumalik sa source or DU, making sure na malaki ang current and cause a trip or deactivation of CB or current protection device. Sabi run na isa sa primary purpose ng ground electrode is provide path for ligthning or static discharge directed to earth ground. So multipurpose ang grounding system, ie. ground fault mitigation (requires bonding) and lightning surge or static discharge ( requires grounding electrodes connections ).

      Pwde kung Wala talaga saka kung ayaw mo Lagyan Kasi nakaground ka pa din sa poste via grounded conductor.
      May pasubali lang sa 2.50.1.4 (A) FNP na dapat Hindi masyadong malayo o mahaba at merong mga bends ang koneksyon ng grounding electrode conductor. Kung walang grounding sa service para sa akin ay parang nangyari ang mahaba at mga bends sa grounded conductor connection kahit Hindi sa grounding electrode conductor. Nakuha mo ba?

      Hindi dahil lahat ng may connection sa ground, ang electric potential ay 0 volts. With reference dun sa ungrounded phase conductor, Yung grounded phase conductor, equipment grounding conductor at Yung lupa pati ikaw na nakatapak sa lupa, lahat yan masusukatan mo ng 230 volts. Makukuryente ka kapag ang hinawakan mo ay Yung ungrounded conductor.
      Kaya lang wag mo Subukan Hawaiian, baka magkamali ka Yung ungrounded ang mahawakan mo. Unless matagal ka nang electrician, ituring mo lahat ng wires ay may kuryente para mag ingat ka ng Mabuti pag DIY.

      Sa main service disconnecting means. Kung magkahiwalay ang main breaker sa panel board ng mga breaker para sa branch circuits, sa main breaker. Sa Isang Lugar ka lang pwde mag connect ng main bonding jumper mula bus bar ng grounded conductor sa bus bar ng equipment grounding conductor, Jan lang.

      sapat na gamitin equipment grounding conductor. Basahin Mo maigi Yung section 2.50.9 types of equipment grounding conductors. Nakasulat Doon shall be one or more or a combination of the following.
      1. cu, al or cu-clad al conductor.
      2. Rigid metal conduit
      3.intermediate metal conduit
      4.electricsl metal tubing
      5 flexible metal conduit with conditions.
      6. Listed liquid tight flex. metal conduit with conditions
      Etc.
      Oo nga Pala, nasa video ko na ito pamagat paano magsize ng gec, egc at mbj.

      DM Wala tayong word na neutralized ginagamit pag dating sa electrical construction. Hindi yan word na ginagamit ng mga professional practitioners ng electricity.
      Meron word na neutral, ibig sabihin wire nakakabit sa neutral point. So kung sundin Mo ang logic ayon sa definition ng neutral, ang line conductor na grounded ay Hindi pwdeng tawagin neutralized. Akin lang.
      Libre Naman Tayo sa kung ano gusto natin paniwalaan o Hindi.

      ​@@dms3813Naintindihan ko gusto mo sabihin. Ang point o sinasabi ko lang, Wala yang word na Yan makikita ka sa PEC nor sa mga textbook. As such, pwde Naman Yan sabihin mo at kuha ko ang point mo.

      Parepareho lang Tayo gumawa ng ating terminology mga braders.
      Ang tamang terminology lang. Strictly speaking Yung mababasa sa PEC.
      I maintain, kahit ano itawag nyo sa grounded conductor ay pwde dahil magkakaintindihan Naman Tayo ngayong naipaliwanag nyo na sa akin gusto nyo term.
      Pero Meron din mga engineer na Hindi na Yan tinatawag na line to neutral Kasi may definition na Ngayon ang neutral conductor. Line to ground tawag nila. Panoorin nyo si practical electrical na pilipino blogger din at engineer. Ang practice ko ay sa US at Doon ay totoong line to neutral gamit sa Bahay. Hindi ko kayang tawagin neutral ang Hindi neutral wire dahil malaki pagkakaiba nito sa grounded phase conductor. Ang common ng neutral at phase conductor at grounded sila. Ang phase conductor na grounded ay Hindi grounded neutral. Kung pwde nyo tawagin neutral ang grounded phase conductor at pwde ko din tawagin ito na ground wire lang. Wala tayong pagtatalunan na pwdeng ang Isa sa atin ay Mali.

    Question bilang isang ordinaryong ama na walang alam pagdating sa elektrisidad , saan ko makikita ang ground wire na galing s grid o utility gayong dalawa lng ang linya ng kuryentebsa amin. Meralco ang distributor.. itinaas nila sa poste ang mga kuntador dito sa amin kaya dalawang linya lng ang pumasok sa bahay. Saan ngayon manggagaling yung ground wire na suppose to be ay galing sa meralco? Paki enlighten lng po Tia

      Ang kuntador ng kuryente, kapag sinundan mo ang linya at ang linya nakakabit sa itaas sa poste at nasusundan mo pa ang linya ng kuryente ay tiyak ang dulo ng linya ay transformer sa posted mismo o sa Isa pang malapit na poste. Wala kasing grounding sa bahay namin.ibig ko sanang maglagay.so ang mangyayari ay yun lng mga appliances na may grounding ang nakaka connect sa ground ( sa lupa) at yung ground ay hindi nakaka connect sa meralco? Paano ko maiaaply yung itinuro nyo na bonding gayong wala namang ground na nanggaling sa meralco kasi nga 2 line lng ang pumasok sa bahay ko?       Ok. In the meantime imagine mo may neutral wire sa gitna ang line to line pero tigil sya sa neutral bus bar. Tapos may bonding jumper between neutral bus bar at equipment grounding bus bar.
      Yun. Ganun lang. Tapos line to line na may egc o 3 wires din ang papasok sa premises wiring.

      Kapatid, Wala akong Alam sa electric forklift. Hindi Ako nakahawak Nyan. Pwde Ako magresearch at magpaliwanag ng nabasa ko pero Hindi Tama Yun dahil ang dapat magtutorial Nyan Yung marunong magpaandar. In demand nga Naman SA Isang maintenance position ang marunong magpaandar ng forklift kahit saan. Sa factory napagtrabahuhan ko ay gas ang gamit pati. Sori ha Hindi Ako qualified magtutorial Nyan.

      Mykill, minimum Yan. Kung may instrument ka na pansukat at mataas pa din ang impedance magkakabit ka pa ulit ng pangalawang ground rod, 6 feet apart.

      Hindi. Millisecond lang kung maayos ang bonding kahit saan magkaroon ng ground fault pipitik kaagad sa off ang breaker at mapapatid ang supply ng kuryente sa branch circuit na nagka ground fault.

    Difference between Earthing.and Grounding:
    By definition: EARTHING protects human life from electrocuted.
    GROUNDING protects the entire power system from malfunctioning.
    By Potential: EARTHING contains zero potential.
    GROUNDING does not possess any zero potential.
    BY LocationIt: EARTHING is placed between the equipment body and earth and kept under the earth’s surface.
    GROUNDING is placed between the neutral of the equipment and ground.
    By Types: EARTHING is of five types such as Pipe, Plate, Rod earthing, tap earthing, and strip earthing.
    GROUNDING is of three types such as Solid, Resistance, and Reactance grounding.
    By Color of wire: The EARTHING wire is of green color.
    The GROUNDED wire is black in color.
    By Example: EARTHING is use in transformer, generator, and motor for connecting to the earth.
    GROUNDING is in use as a neutral generator and power transformer and connected to the ground.

      Marami Kang alam brod Pero British system. Yung color coding mo ay British system. Under sa Philippine Electrical Code ang grounded conductor ay white. Ang salitang earthing ay sa British system din at Hindi nabanggit sa PEC maliban sabihin ang ground ay earth.
      Malamang electrical engineer ka at sa power distribution ka sanay.

      @@joel-bd7kskung mapansin mo, lahat ng videos ko ginagamit ko ang PEC. Hindi Ako lumalayo sa PEC dahil Yan ang batas sa pinas. Ang batas ay territorial. Ayon sa batas, na PEC, stick lang ang paliwanag ko Jan. Ang mga definitions na binanggit mo ay maaring totoo pero Hindi Yan definitions na ayon sa batas ng pinas. Walang legs na tatayuan ang mga definitions mo sakaling magkaroon ng aberya, may madisgrasya at umabot sa korte ang asunto.
      Stick Ako sa batas at sa mga definition lang ng terms na ayon sa batas. Yun lang ang pinapaliwanag ko at Hindi Ako handa sumobra dun ang paliwanag ko.
      Engineer ka malamang at maliwanag sa iyo ang mga sinulat mo. Kahit Ako pagkabasa ko ay kailangan isulat ko muna at idigest ng husto dahil Hindi ko kubis na unawa ang mga terms mo.

Ang audience at mga DIYer at electrician na Pinoy, ang topic ay complex, 25 minutes para magpaliwanag, gaano kadami masasabi ko. Isang semester at 3 units ang grounding at bonding kung nag formal training ka.

      Ang ganda ng explanation tas sasabihin mong magulo. Marunong ka ba talaga? Hindi mo maintindihan kase ang ginamit niyang example ay single phase 2 wire system na ginagamit sa Pinas. Dito sa US pag residential ang gamit single phase 3 wire system. Napaliwanag naman niya ng maayos ang pagkakaiba ng grounded conductor at ng equipment grounding conductor.

      Ang electriciang Pinoy Hindi tulad ng electrician sa mauunlad na bansa. Kulang ang vast majority sa kaalaman ayon sa PEC na plakang plaka sa NEC.       Tama ka. Baka kulang pa ang 6 ft Kasi mostly 10 ft ang haba ng ground rod at halos dapat dulo lang ang nakalutang sa lupa. Anyways, ang talakay dito ay Yung objective lang na gusto ma achieve ng bonding para malinaw ano ang bonding.

      Sa 2 wire system na ginawa ko sa illustration, walang wire nakakabit sa neutral. Hindi ginamit ang neutral. Floating neutral kadalasan ang tawag Jan.

      Manuel, 3 wire system Yun. Meron 2 line conductors tapos may neutral kinabit sa neutral point. Panoorin mo Yung video ko na titled may color coding ba ang electric conductor. Doon tinalay ko sabay ang 2 wire system at 3 wire system.
      Sa 2 wire system, ang tawag ng mga EE sa terminal sa transformer sa poste na walang nakakabit sa gitnang terminal ay floating neutral dahil Hindi kinabitan ng wire papasok sa premises wiring Hanggang sa service equipment. Sa 3 wire system na gamit sa pinas, tumitigil itong neutral dapat sa service equipment. Yung line to line magbibigay ng 230 volts at kung nagpapasok ka ng neutral sa loob ng Bahay sa loadside ng neutral wire at Isang live wire, kalahati lang ng 230 volts ibibigay nyang linya na Yan, 115 volts. Ang grounded sa 3 wire system at Yung neutral. Sa 2 wire system ang grounded at Yung Isang phase conductor. Sobrang Kasi Dami ng concept na isinasaksak ko sa Isang issue kaya ito madalas Hindi makuha lahat ng gusto Kong sabihin. Hindi Naman Kasi pwde sobra pa sa 30 minutes ang video ko. Abangan mo Yung susunod na video andun mas malinaw.

      Makikita mo yung 2 wire system walang neutral. Yung drawing nyang mga Yan ipinakita ko sa grounding video. Ok ba. Pero magaling nag isip ka at pumupunta ka sa PEC. Sundan mo lang mga video ko magkakaroon ka ng umpisang idea sa kahulugan ng mga sections. Kung umabot ka na sa estadong kayang Kaya mo na intindihin mga binabasa mo, Yan Malaya ka bumuo ng Sarili mong paniwala. Yan ang objective ko, gawing matalinong electrician ang masipag na electrician. Masipag magtrabaho masipag pa mag research. Ok ba Kapatid.

      Ito pa Isang tingin ko ay Wala ka pang idea. Ang gamit ng neutral ay pabalikin ang imbalance ng current back to the source. Mangyayari lang Yan kung ang premise wiring ay 3wire at extensive ang gamit ng line1 to neutral at line 2 to neutral sa roadside supply ng kuryente to feed 115 volts. Ganyan Kasi ang electrical system sa US, 120V/240V.
      Dahil sa kagagamit ng 120volts magkakaroon ng imbalance ng kuryente between line1 at line 2. Neutral wire ang magpapabalik ng imbalance ng kuryente pabalik sa supply ng kuryente. Ayan, bibigyan kita ng information na Hindi mo Naman magagamit. Food for thought na lang.
      Walang imbalance ang 2wire system Kaya Hindi kailangan ng neutral. Sana nagets mo.
